Fjord as seen from water beneath paddle.

Fjord has been a game changer on the Sausalito waterfront. The founders worked long and hard to establish their floating sauna and plunge platform, and it has been a huge hit from the start. Though their business is booked far in advance, they have been generous in donating to the nonprofit community. Locals are grateful they chose Sausalito as a base for their unique waterfront experience.

Epitome of Marin living! Fjord is the Bay's hottest new sauna // cold plunge experience. Snagging a spot was difficult because everyone is wanting to try Fjord but the actual booking system itself was easy to navigate. I was able to grab a private session on the North sauna. The North sauna sits right on the edge of the barge so it makes it feel like you are floating right on top of the water. We got the last session of the day (6:30 PM) and it was magical getting to experience the transition from afternoon into sunset and night time. Absolutely stunning views of the Bay, Tiburon, Angel Island, the City and beyond. A glowing, full moon reflecting over the water didn't hurt either. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There's a separate changing area, and a water refilling station nearby so you can stay hydrated. The shower is located right on the deck to rinse off after you plunge. Towels are not included but you can purchase some if you forget. Rates are also very reasonable. Highly recommend!! #FEELSOMETHING

This spot is such a vibe! It's gorgeous and perfect for an afternoon with friends. The staff was kind and helpful, and the bay + sauna were so peaceful. We even saw seals popping up around us! 10/10 recommend.

Hot saunas floating in the bay followed by a plunge in the San Francisco Bay to swim alongside the boats, kayakers, and sea lions / seals - amusing to watch through the big window in the sauna. The showers are lovely. The water isn't as cold as I thought it would be. Can't wait to return!

You can jump in (about four feet from dock to water) or there is a sturdy ladder to get in and out.

Fun, safe, fabulous place to jump in the Bay and enjoy a sauna with a full-wall window on the bay. Nice deck for relaxing in between your cool plunge and hot sauna, a convenient water station, and basic changing rooms. Locked/clean bathrooms nearby. Be careful to park in legal space.

This is a wonderful experience and a beautiful place, with friendly staff, but it's difficult to book a spot.

A month ago, I spent an unforgettable afternoon there -- sweating it out with new friends, then plunging into the cold waters of Richardson Bay between rounds.

The deep tissue massage I got was very good. Can't say it was the best I've ever had but definitely not the worst. Just don't expect it to be as big or grand as a five star resort or anything. It's located in the boutique style hotel which has been there for ages. It's small, yet nicely appointed. The staff were great, rooms were quiet. I enjoyed the outdoor lounge area. The rest of the place isn't much to see. There was one loud group of guys making noise/laughing loudly for a while down the steps from the lounges. Not sure if they were employees of the hotel or guests but it stopped after 10 minutes or so. With tight quarters you can't do much about that. The men's locker room was meh, clean, but small and kind of rank smelling like a local YMCA or something. Think that's due to it being so small and having a steam room, there's not great ventilation. Also thought it wasn't good that the urinals were so close to the sinks. Shower pressure not great. Parking is a bit tricky being downtown Sausalito. They give you a free parking pass if you go out and get it. Wish they'd email it to you ahead of time to be more convenient. Overall, it's ok and I may return under the right circumstances but I do prefer a more spacious type of spa with more amenities.

Unfortunately as I was pulling in the manager called the let me know my masseuse had called in sick and they could only rebook my massage to start 1.5 hours after the original time. I was disappointed, but I made the best of it and thankfully had a flexible schedule that day. I ended up ordering tea and lunch from the Tea Bar. Unfortunately the matcha was out of stock, but I opted for another green tea and the crab cake. It was raining the day I was there so I didn't end up using the pool. I really like my facial with Ruth. She was amazing and had lovely energy. I would definitely rebook. My massage was okay, but despite a few requests for more pressure, I was told that was the max she could do. I have had a lot of massages, but have never encountered that before

I decided to come here for a full spa day as a treat on my birthday. I booked a massage and wanted to hang out and use all the amenities available. I left very disappointed. I booked a deep tissue massage. I expected a relaxing and meditative experience, and let my masseuse know that I struggle with shoulder pain from playing tennis for years. He proceeded to walk me through a sort of physical therapy session? Like, imagine doing the physical therapy exercises/reps for tennis elbow. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing to do during a deep tissue massage but it wasn't exactly relaxing. I also don't think it was very effective since those sessions are typically done multiple times. He barely worked on the rest of my body and only focused on my right shoulder. After he was done, he didn't give me any time to relax by myself before telling me to get dressed and that my hour was up. After my massage session, I decided to use the hot tub and relax in the lobby, which was fine. There were minimal complimentary refreshments compared to some other spas i've been to. I wanted to get ready for the rest of my birthday (dinner with friends) at the spa so I decided to wash my hair. I brought my own hair dryer and my makeup products. In the middle of my shower, the power completely went out. There was no announcement from the attendants about what was going on. They just continued on as usual. I rinsed my hair out (in the dark!) but it was still wet and needed to be dried immediately. After asking an attendant, they said the power goes off regularly and that they had no clue when it would be back on. If I had known this, I would never have tried to get ready at the spa! I might not have even booked there. I had to leave the spa early and go home because my hair was very time sensitive. I did not get comped. I didn't even get an apology. I walked out of the spa into the cold day with fully wet hair on my birthday. Definitely not worth the price point it's at and should come with a warning tag about the power outages.
