Pretty sure she said, "my husband does all of the caramels of course." So guessing she may be an owner. Great candy, could have been a one off experience. At $30 per pound, a sample and a few interesting facts about the Newark landmark Candy shop would have been a small and appreciated show of appreciation (in and of itself). Despite this person leaving me a voicemail telling me they would be there on a specific day (today) they were not there. A woman behind the counter called me a liar and said that no message was left saying the person would be there today. I have a screenshot of the message. She then starts yelling at me that they don't do the type of event I'm asking about. I tell her they have in the past, but why wasn't that relayed to me when I came in a few days ago, or in the message left? She is yelling telling me I should have called back, I guess instead of just coming in? She then goes to the back I guess because she's so angry??? I have never been treated so poorly at a business for no reason. I'm there literally trying to have this business cater a party. The manager "Dan" comes and doesn't apologize to me. He doesn't even acknowledge the way I was treated. He just says he'll talk to the employee. They acted like I did something wrong. I will not be returning to this business nor would I recommend them for anything. Who yells and embarrasses their customers in front of a store full of people over a catering inquiry?
