I'd never stayed at an Aloft prior to booking this one and I was immediately impressed. I love all things modern and this hotel is definitely that. I am huge on customer service and the entire staff was amazing! The location is top tier. There are so many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. I loved that breakfast was available and there is a bar inside for a night cap. It was the perfect hotel for my birthday staycation. I will definitely be back! Hopefully sooner than later.

Stayed at the Aloft for a week while working an event at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas. Clean, comfortable room in what seems to be a converted old brick building, the Aloft has a very funky vibe. The pool was a little chilly, and perpetually in the shade, which may be a benefit in July in Dallas, but wasn't that inviting during my stay in October. Convenient to many restaurants in the downtown area, and if you are driving, plenty of surface-level parking.

Conveniently located downtown not too far from uptown and nightlife. Style of the hotel is loft which I thought would've felt uncomfortable but it was a pleasant stay. There's a nightly parking rate of ~$16. The room was decent and nicely lit. The shower could be modified as the shower head needs to be pointed towards the wall or else the bathroom will be flooded from the water getting under shower door.

Both rooms I've been in now are humid, stuffy, and smell. The king rooms are spacious but the air seriously feels congested and claustrophobic. Seedy part of Dallas, especially the parking lot... nope. The walls, ceilings, lobby, etc. seem like part of a "vibe", but it just seems like you found a free place to stay and spruced it up. 2 stars (instead of 1) because the receptionists were professional and nice and changed my room.

An unusual Marriot reno in place. An old pants factory when conversion could not touch the outdoor industrial windows and facade. It stands alone juxta-downtown where the parking is a field like cement lot behind it. Park and truck back. And leave room's curtains comfortably closed as your view? Your car(s). The innards retain its industrial origin- cement ceiling, hotel rooms shaped into the spaces, with cathedral height ceilings, tall boxes parsed into bed and lav. In the hallways, the remnants of the interfloor spiral conveyances to move materials up and down. Lot of cement. And it's fine. And the surprise? Friday and Saturday late night large lobby jazz jam sessions that you'd pay top dollar for-- Just Martha, and some Grammy worthy singing. What, why, how? Wonderful.

I really enjoy the Aloft brand and if I could give it 5 stars I would. The entire experience was great from the convenient location in Pioneer Plaza, hotel staff and the awesome bartender. Really there was only two factors that hindered the experience just a tiny bit. One, was that there was only one working elevator. Not so much a big deal during slow times but when it was busy, getting back to my room took a while. The other factor was the unpleasant smell of smoke and marijuana in some areas of the hotel. These were the only things that bothered me about the Aloft here in Dallas. Besides that everything else was wonderful.

This hotel is like an Adult Youth Center. It's modern, trendy, industrial and fun. Located in downtown Dallas across from Pioneer Plaza and City Hall, it offers convenience and affordable prices in a historic building that has been updated to reflect the taste of young urbanites. We stayed here New Year's Eve, and it was the perfect location to take in the festivities. The hotel offers parking for $16 a day. We were able to nab a spot along the side, and there was a convenient side entrance with an automatic door. So many hotels have their side entrances locked down and only accessible with a key fob, but this hotel had a wide door that opened the moment your foot touched the mat. It was very welcoming. Plus, the outside speaker above the door was blasting some hip music that gave the place a party vibe and put everyone in an upbeat mood. Inside, the lobby was more like an adult playground. It actually reminded me of a startup during the .com era of the early 2000s. The color schemes were bright with splashes of orange and blue. The WXYZ bar took up an entire wall with its wide selection of hard liquor. There is a pool table, a double sided fireplace, a slew of different seating arrangements, and a grab and go snack bar. The reception is a small round kiosk that you walk up to from any side. It reminded me more of an information desk, and to a degree, it serves more as that these days. The Bonvoy Marriot encourages its guests to book reservations online, download their app, do advanced check-in via their app, and use the phone app as your digital keycard to access your room and other services like the pool and hotel fitness room. If you actually did this, you would have very little need to visit with the hotel receptionist, except maybe to get your parking pass and to place an order with the cafe. As far as I could tell, all of the rooms offer a king sized bed. Our room was on the 5th floor (6th is the highest) and was a suite that faced Young Street's Pioneer Plaza. I was expecting a room with a bed and bathroom, but was delighted to find we had been upgraded to a suite. In addition to our king sized bed and walk-in shower, our suite was furnished with a loveseat sofa bed, funky reading chair with overhead light, and a work table with two modern roller chairs. Despite the New Year's Eve festivities taking place on Young Street and throughout the hotel, our room was very quiet and we both slept through the night (although I'm sure staying up late and drinking several margaritas helped keep us in a state of slumber - lol!). This was the perfect place for checking out the fireworks at Reunion Tower at midnight. Although we couldn't see them from our room, we were able to walk outside the front door onto Young Street which was closed to traffic and view the spectacle along with the rest of the 20,000+ revelers at City Hall's Party on the Plaza event. It wasn't too cold outside, but when we wanted to warm up, use the bathroom or just get another libation, we could escape the chill and the crowd and step into the Aloft as needed. We thoroughly enjoyed starting the Roaring 20s at the Aloft and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others. If you do get a chance to go, check out the history of the 1924 building. It served as a former Santa Fe Railroad freight terminal and commercial dry goods warehouse. You can still see remnants of its history in the structure today. To read more about it, look up "Santa Fe Terminal Complex" on Wikipedia. The Aloft was Santa Fe Building No. 4, and they did an amazing job of renovating this historic building.

Attending an event with kids and coming to Dallas for the first time. Since Omni was fully booked, I went for the second option, Aloft across street from the conference center. I regretted my decision to stay here. Pros: second best location for the conference center(first star). Staff is friendly and helpful(sending star) Cons: The design is intended to be industrial but the finish product is...unfinished maybe? I'm a multi family building developer. I kind of know the trade. Hire a better architect pls. Water pressure is not existing. I thought water conservation in California is bad... Carpet is old, need to be replaced asap. No USB charging port in year 2022 No luggage rack in a hotel. To make matter worse, I feel the carpet is too dirty for my suitcase. Breakfast sucks, lunch sucks...personal preference House keeping. I understand there is COVID protocol so I have asked for only new towel and trash removal everyday. During the 4 days I was there I had new towel for the first day. I have to call front desk for the service on the 4th day. Maybe the hotel is under staff.

The staff was friendly and helpful . The room was ready early and very clean. We were near the elevator but the was no noise intrusion. Ice was prepared for you in bags to fit into the ice bucket in the room. It's hot in Dallas and ice is a necessity. Extra towels or anything else we needed was promptly handled.

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

She crossed the four-lane highway with just 36 cents and was given the presidential suite for three days. With photos, custom pillows, quotes, the "Escape" suite is dedicated to her. If you want to commemorate Tina Turner, nothing beats it. Lorenzo Hotel, let's stay together. The creative, quirky, and poetic 237-room boutique is known for being an eclectic and vibrant art gallery with a different theme for each floor. Floor 1 is a mix-up with Shakespeare, Alice in Wonderland, Poe, and Einstein. Floor 3 is Literature & Journalism (if you like old printing presses this may be your type). Floor 4 is the Music Floor (vintage audio). Floor 5 is Mid-Century Modern (1960s Dallas history). Floor 6 is "Dali" or Surrealism Floor. Floor 8 is Botanical & Nature (floral pops of color). Floor 9 is Pop Art (bold and graphic). Floor 10 is Cinematic History (Hollywood glamour). Floor 11 is The Tina Turner Tribute. Floor 12: Skyline / Skye Ballroom event level with massive floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed in Floor 7, which is "Literary Noir" (drama and mystery). We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). Service: Everyone was awesome, especially Precious, who was, like her name Precious. That explains why they don't hire Dicks.

The pool was great during the summer, it's small but has many chairs and even cabanas that are great for lounging in. The onsite restaurant for breakfast was delicious! The food was really good - probably the best part of the entire hotel - and the service at the restaurant was beyond friendly and accommodating. The parking is $20 a night which is a crazy price, but there were always plenty of spaces. There is a lot of construction next door, so we could hear that going on during the day and proved for a quite terrible view from our hotel room - completely obstructed by a tree with the bits you can see through being just trucks. One evening our toddler pulled the plug for the lamp that is on the night stand and it pulled the entire outlet out which created a hot flash of fire and smoke - then live wires were exposed - this is crazy dangerous and very disturbing that a very small child was in such danger from merely unplugging something. We went down to the desk and they immediately said they'd send an engineer up and asked if we would like to change rooms. We said we'd see what the engineer said, he came up about 5 mins later and said everything needed to be replaced so I said to him we have to switch rooms as it was completely dangerous for anyone to be in the room with live wiring exposed. A minute or two after the engineer left the front desk called our room and told us to come downstairs to change rooms. We packed up, trucked everything downstairs and they switched our rooms to the room next door (which it would've been nice if they would have offered to help move our luggage or at least tell us to just move it one room over, not bring it all downstairs). The front desk was actually really passive and cold - I found the situation quite shocking and dangerous and they had basically nothing to say about it. I thought it would've been nice if they had said something to apologize for the inconvenience, to offer something in return. It is completely their fault for having faulty electrical equipment in their room and they just wanted us to move rooms and go away - I was just happy to move the room and not be near them since they were such bad vibes - I think other people would've felt disrespected by their behavior. Thanks for the food, won't be back.

About the Hotel I don't know the history of the hotel but I can tell it's a well kept older hotel. I like how they kept some elements of its legacy. The lighting, the mail chute and more, add to the charm of this place. The lobby is a modern twist with an emphasis on audio entertainment. There are a lot of record albums on display as art. There's a small walk up cafe for quick bites and drinks and you can take a comfy seat in the lobby to enjoy your snack. From the lobby, you can peer down into and access the Toussaint restaurant and bar. About our Room Our room (603) was spacious and functional. It included a king bed, 2 large side tables, a round bistro table with one chair, a large flat screen TV above a long counter to drop some of your stuff onto. It had a large wardrobe for hanging clothing plus a valuable safe. It had a bar with glassware and coffee service (Keurig). The bathroom was spacious and functional, though the sliding entry door did leave a large gap, taking a bit of privacy away from the commode area. If there was a con for this room, I'd say it was lighting and lack of outlets on one side of the bed. The room did have lighting, but it was very dim. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes

We only booked for one night and were eager to get things going. Although we were excited, the experience overall was not great. We had to wait 3 hours to check in (check in time is normally at 3PM). Those hours were spent sitting and waiting in the lobby with a bunch of conference people as the hotel was PACKED. We didn't really wish to venture out to the bar as the bar was also packed and very loud. They did check our bags while we waited so we didn't have to keep watch of them which was nice. Once we finally got our hotel room, it was nice at first glance, but there were a few little issues: the fridge/mini bar area is fully stacked and super overpriced (we moved everything to make room for our stuff but it didn't matter because the fridge didn't even work and had lettuce and mayonnaise on the shelf), the drawers for your clothes were sticky and had to be wiped down, they only gave us one roll of toilet paper, and one of the towels was still wet and a little dirty. After doing some cleaning, we found that the room was spacious with a decent view, comfortable, and the bathroom was very cute. We spent most of our time in the room itself but we did venture out and use the swimming pool and hot tub which were both amazing: they were heated, clean, and empty. Because our fridge wasn't working, we decided to get lots of ice for our drinks which turned out to be a bit of an annoyance as the ice machine closest to our room was broken and the next one was a few floors up. With a fully packed hotel and only one working elevator, getting ice took longer than it should have. We had a random request later in the evening (we asked for straws) and the front desk was accommodating and very fast with that request. The next day, when we checked out, we were allowed to extend our checkout time by an hour and also the valet parking (which is normally $55 and the only parking option for the hotel) was comped due to the late check in. Overall, the staff was nice and accommodating but the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. I personally won't be staying here again.

The room was immaculate, the Uptown location is excellent, and dinner at Fearing's was as good as its reputation. The people I met in person were the real highlight. Amar at the front desk, and Luis and EunSeo in the Club Lounge, were warm, attentive, and genuinely memorable. If my review were based on the stay alone, it would be five stars without hesitation. The reason it is not is what happened after checkout. I raised a question about my STARS credit at the desk and was told everything was fine, though no one could actually show me the line items. When my folio arrived, I replied to the accounting email exactly as invited. I heard nothing. I followed up a second time, then a third. Silence. It took a fourth email, sent directly to a general manager, before anyone responded at all, and the response contained a billing error that had charged one of my credits to another guest's bar tab. I only caught it because I reconciled the receipts myself. It then took a fifth email, with a timeline and check numbers, to get it corrected. To the accounting manager's credit, once he understood the problem he fixed it promptly and refunded the charge. But by then I had spent two weeks proving something that should have taken them one look at the account. For most hotels, this is an ordinary service lapse. For a property that markets itself on owning and resolving guest problems immediately, it is a miss on the very thing that justifies the premium. The stay made me feel like a valued guest. The weeks after made me feel like a ticket number. I will likely give the property another chance, because the in-person team earned that. But if you stay here, keep your receipts and check your folio carefully, because the follow-through may not.
