I loved the level of accommodations that this hotel provided. How quick and efficient the service was. Most importantly how they were able to provide a reasonable check in when we arrived. We got in at 10:30 and were able to get in our rooms significantly early. They had a strong concierge service that included tickets to local museums, daily cocktails at your leisure, and ordering flowers for Valentine's Day. Room service was delicious and well presented. And, house keeping kept the space refreshed all the time. Having a restaurant on site and multiple bars, made it a place you didn't have to leave (unless you wanted to.) For Valentine's Day, we reserved and confirmed a king room online. We arrived expecting a special evening -- only to be told our room had been given away and that the only option left was a room with double beds. Let that sink in. My husband is a Titanium Elite member. At 6'4", a double bed is not a substitute for a confirmed king reservation. It is not an "upgrade issue." It is a failure to honor a paid, confirmed booking -- on Valentine's Day. The front desk associate was dismissive, unapologetic, and visibly irritated that we even asked about alternatives. We were told there were no other rooms or upgrades available. Based on availability we later reviewed, that statement does not appear to have been accurate. Then we got to the room. The bathroom floors were dirty. So not only was our confirmed reservation given away, but the replacement room was not even clean. We were told the associate had been brought in due to understaffing and that this was "all she could do." Staffing issues are internal problems -- not excuses to diminish guest experience or disregard loyalty status. This was not just disappointing. It was careless. We will be escalating this to Bonvoy, the General Manager, and the Area Director. A brand that promotes elite recognition and elevated experiences should not deliver something this far below standard -- especially on an occasion meant to be special. Never again. read more

We stayed here for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This time we spent some time walking around the hotel and investigating nooks and crannies we had not seen before. I checked out bathrooms on floors 11 and 12 and they were spotless. We stayed on the 21st floor for the first time and it had a great view of the city. The floor was very quiet. Our room was clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a great breakfast in the lounge. The selection included pastries, breads, eggs, sausage, fruit, cold cereal, hot oatmeal, cheese, hard boiled eggs, and some prosciutto. Plus of course a variety of juices, tea, and coffee. It was very impressive. As usual, every service personnel was polite and professional. It is a very well run hotel. We will be back, soon! read more

I stayed at this hotel while in town for a surgery. Alexandra put my mind at ease when I accidentally canceled my reservation while inflight and then found that website was no longer accepting points for the reservation. I called Marriott when I landed and they told me that there was nothing that could be done, even with Titanium status. I then called the hotel and spoke to Alexandra. She told me not to worry, that she would take care of getting it reinstated. When she found out I was going to be there for surgery, she went above and beyond! Not only did the housekeeping crew continuously keep us stocked up on waters, there was also a kind note from Alexandra with flowers, chocolates and magazines when I came back from dinner the night before surgery. It was very thoughtful and appreciated. This hotel also has a great lounge, though it was closed for the first 4 days that we were there due to a convention. They offered a $50/day food credit to make up for that inconvenience. There was one doorman in particular who also went above and beyond, but I didn't catch his name. I ate lunch one day in the restaurant, again- exceptional service. The front desk folks deserve a shout out also. Housekeeping was also very hospitality driven, checked in on us frequently to see if we needed anything. What a great experience during a stressful time! read more

I stayed at the JW Marriott during my Dallas trip and this hotel checked all the boxes. It's centrally located to major attractions, features a nice in-house bar/restaurant, and the rooms are really spacious. Attentive and polite staff all around. The only odd thing I discovered was that my room did not have a full length mirror - which is pretty standard at most hotels. Overall solid experience and I would stay here again. read more

I love this hotel so very much! The room is super cozy and the bed is very comfy. Best pillows ever. Love the size of the tv and it was so easy to sign into my streaming accounts. I would have liked the pool to be a bit bigger but that wasn't a big deal. We were in walking distance to so many places which was also fun. The bartending staff on the 11th floor couldn't have been more unfriendly even after we tipped generously. It was as if we hardly existed. Wednesday night NYE Disappointed. No smiles, looked like he hated us. Later in the night i was told on New Years Eve that they were out of all food??? They told me i could walk 15 minutes at 1am at night lol. JW really. Only good note was the front desk lady was the nicest person and really warm greeting. She was the best experience. Service from the Market place shop was also slow. Nice stay if ever in the Downtown Dallas area. Beautiful hotel with amazing views especially when in the bar area. Great drinks, I love mezcal & the bartender made an amazing drink for me with it. Clean, I wish the pool got more sun but still a beautiful property. The gym was my spot, lived working out there, they have big windows that you can look out of while working out. Will definitely be back when we come back to the Dallas area. read more

The whole hotel smelled AWFUL. At first i thought it was one of us but quickly realized it was the pillows. They all smelled like a dead rotting animal. We asked hotel staff for fresh pillows multiple times, and each time the pillows they brought smelled just as disgusting as the last. On the topic of smells, PLEASE marriott if you are listening PLEASE lay off the eucalyptus spray in the lobby, i got a headache every time i walked in the door. The room felt cheap; loose rattling panels, poor lighting, a faucet that seemed to drip no matter how tight you shut it. The one star for this hotel is only earned because the showers are nice and the one bell hop guy was super friendly and cool. That guy 100% deserves a raise. But beyond that, we will not be staying at the JW Marriott again. read more

I stay at lots of different Marriott hotels but I won't be back to this one. Valet parking was super slow and had a snarky attitude from the get go. The front desk wasn't much better. Southern Hospitality must not exist in Dallas anymore. At first they weren't going to give us a room with two beds as requested. After I explained to them that 4 people in one bed is over the maximum occupancy for the room. They reluctantly changed the room to what we had reserved. However as a platinum member with Marriott we don't usually get stuck on a low floor without a view. To top it off the hairdryer doesn't work at all and the hallways are filled with trash from everyone DoorDashing. read more

This hotel is beautiful. We stayed there for a quick trip for a concert at the American Airlines Arena. The hotel is situated in the art district and it's not too far from the arena. We stayed on the 14th floor, which gave beautiful views from the room. The room very clean. It had a huge walk-in shower and we also had robe and slippers provided by the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were soft. This hotel has a restaurant on the 11th floor, a rooftop pool, a rooftop bar, a coffee shop, and plenty sitting on the rooftop near the bar. The staff there were incredibly nice from the welcome at the valet to the checkout the next day. We came on it Thursday, so most restaurants were closed by midnight so we ordered sandwiches to our room late night. The sandwiches were delicious and the hotel personnel brought them up promptly. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Very nice hotel. We love going on little staycations and figured we would stay here for Labor Day weekend. The hotel is pristine. It is on the quieter part of downtown Dallas but still very close to all the restaurants and activities. The staff was amazing. It is pricey but you gotta pay for these types of luxuries. The pool is not very big and for some reason the water was freezing cold. Pool service was very slow, they only had one bar tender and one server. The rooms are very neat, very clean, minimalist aesthetic, great shower and nice views. Only dislike were the pillows, they are very flat. This hotel is brand new, I believe it's been operating for less than two months, so there are a few things here and there that need improve but overall it was a very nice stay. read more

We expected better. Ice bucket in the room but no ice nearby. We called the front desk to ask where ice was located & were told they could bring it but that would be a 20 minute wait, or, we could go to the 12th floor gym, there was an ice machine there. We opted to get our own ice of course. However, the ice machine did not work, we couldn't get ice. Went back to the room, called the front desk & was promised ice within 20 minutes. Two hours later I called again & was told they would send ice. When they finally did deliver ice, the ice bucket had no handle on the lid, it had been broken off. It was difficult to open the ice bucket. We stayed three nights and this was very annoying. This seems rather silly for such a large hotel. We spoke with other guests who had the same experience, everyone was complaining there was no ice! One guest told me they ended up going to the hotel bar & the bartender provided them with some ice. Very strange... Additionally, the first night we were there while showering I dropped the white washcloth in the shower and it fell on the shower drain grates. When I picked up the washcloth it had dirty black stripes on it from the shower drain. This made me doubt the cleanliness of the hotel during our visit. All of this was mentioned to management who seemed unconcerned. I was shocked that there was no offer to have someone clean the shower or an offer to move us to a different room. I really felt this hotel was understaffed. Guests who had ordered room service had their food trays sitting outside in the hallways for an entire day with no one coming by to pick up the tray. We had breakfast at the restaurant one morning & and that was just ok. I do not recommend this location and would not stay here again. Photos attached read more

This was my first time staying in a JW Marriott. I travel frequently and have stayed at several Marriott hotels. For a luxury hotel, I expected more from the staff like an explanation of amenities and not having to wait 15 minutes for a drink order from the bar by the pool. Overall though, it is a beautiful hotel and I enjoyed the stay. I would compare it to a regular Marriott experience. It's not worth the price tag unless there are more benefits. I wish there were robes in the room or at least nicer bedding. read more

I told her it was my wife and I's anniversary and she upgraded us as well as had complimentary dessert sent up to our room where there was a hand written card! We recently stayed at this property to celebrate our anniversary. This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. Outstanding food and cocktails in the restaurant for lunch. Employees are all very friendly and helpful! The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view. The one hiccup with our stay was the breakfast from room service. The waffle was cold and soggy and did not come with the berries as listed on the menu. Sausage was a bit tough. Despite ordering pancakes and waffles there was no syrup, so we had to call and request it. It felt like very little attention was given to the order for accuracy or presentation. For the price (delivery fee + service charge + gratuity) it would have been nice for someone to have put some effort into the details! In the future we would absolutely choose this hotel but we will absolutely not order room service again. read more

Normally I love a JW Marriott, but the love affair ends at this hotel. The smell of this hotel is disgusting. You walk in the front door and are immediately accosted with sewer water stench, and in the rooms it isn't any better. I paid for the club level, don't worry save your coins, there was no service, small appetizers, and no "desert hours", also the staff was less the accommodating when I asked to order off menu. Smell and service aside, my room's tv didn't work. All things considered I would not recommend this hotel. Dallas has many amazing places to stay this is not one of them. read more

Hotel management should be ashamed. We picked this hotel because they were going to have a private terrace for eclipse viewing. They charged $1395 a night for this. It's surge pricing, but that's capitalism The day before the eclipse, my wife and I paid $100 for a lecture from an astronomer and cocktails/light food. The staff managed to set the astronomer up in the worst corner of the terrace for the time of day, rendering his presentation nearly impossible to see. Not only that, but staff who were disappointed about the set up sat down at one of the couches and loudly expressed their displeasure. So not only could we not see, we couldn't hear. The day of the eclipse came the real kick in the balls. We came down at around 11 to stake out a spot on the terrace, only to see a sign saying it was closed for a private event. Some private equity group must have rented the space right out from under all of us who were assured of a private terrace. Apparently, my and other guests' $1400 bucks wasn't good enough. A bunch of us who were jilted went down and across the street to the Arts Museum lawn. Hotel management saw fit to send employees over trying to get people to sign up for Bonvoy. After another jilted guest chewed them out, the employees bailed. Considering all this, there is no chance in hell any more of my money will go to a Marriott or affiliated hotels. You should be embarrassed for so brazenly screwing over guests. read more

My wife and I visited this weekend to celebrate our Anniversary. For the duration of the stay, the entire staff was professional, friendly, and made it clear that the customer is a priority. We arrived a little before our check-in time, and they kept our bags for us while we explored the hotel a little. We ended up waiting in the Executive Lounge, which had plenty of very comfortable seating options along with several TVs, charging spots, and views of the city. The lounge was also filled with grab-and-go snacks from assorted candy bars, chips, and fruit to sodas, sports drinks and water. Our room was the Museum Suite, and it was spectacular. 800 SF of a corner of the hotel overlooking the Arts Museum, pool and Opera house, viewable from floor to ceiling windows! We had a spacious bedroom and living room, separated by the bathroom. The room was very clean, modern, and pre-cooled, so it was very inviting! The bathroom was spacious and the shower was impressive...the floor-to-ceiling windows could be blocked by optional automated shades. All the ancillary things were fantastic: soft, clean towels in abundance, the lotion/soap/shampoo, spacious counters, charging pads, robes, sheets/comforter. It was 107 degrees outside, but the pool water was chilly! That was refreshing, and made our pool time very enjoyable, as did the poolside service delivering cocktails from nearby Vincent's. The bar at Margaret's was run by a quality bartender, and the vibe there was very friendly. In the morning, the Executive Lounge became a breakfast buffet. The spread was the same as in every Marriott Residence Inn. The food was average, but plentiful, and there was plenty of staff there to accommodate the customers. We used on-street parking (it's free on weekends) so we didn't experience the valet system. We also didn't spend time at 800 North nor Vincent's. Almost forgot - the hotel staff sent up a dessert tray and with a "Happy Anniversary" card on it. That was a very appreciated, thoughtful gesture. We had a great Anniversary weekend, and a big part of it is where we chose to stay! read more

I booked this hotel to celebrate my friends birthday weekend in downtown Dallas. Upon our arrival in valet we were greeted with the best customer service I have experienced. Our bags were swiftly collected while we checked in and we were escorted to our room. The room was over the top fabulous with the most incredible views of downtown Dallas. We also ate at the restaurant downstairs and it was beyond my expectations. Truly a culinary delight. We utilized the lobby area as well as the pool and found nothing but perfection. Loved staying at this hotel. It is very nice and kept very clean. The Montage restaurant is really good and the food is amazing. The bar is great if you just want to do a happy hour. The Staff is excellent and very attentive. They are also very friendly and very helpful. It is close to Klyde Warren park, Dallas museum district and a lot of top Dallas attractions like American Airlines Center, the symphony, and Dallas Museum of Art. The rooms are super clean and have great views of downtown Dallas. It is perfect for a staycation also if you want to spend a weekend in the city. read more

Recently stayed at the JW Marriot in the Dallas Arts District and just absolutely loved my room and the views of downtown were absolute stunning! The pool on the 11th floor was such a vibe with a great place to hang out with children or a loved one. Margaret's food was superb and absolute delicious and the service was phenomenal! I know it's a new property, but they need some help on their event operations. Was there today for an event. Valet was a bit messy and disorganized. Signage to the event/conference space is lacking. Food was pretty good, but was a bit dry because it likely sat too long. Worst part was the air conditioning. There was probably 300 people and everyone was sweating buckets. It's obvious that they either forgot to pre-chill the space, or it just wasn't working. When it's 105+ outside, and 300 plus people, be considerate and make sure it's too cold, instead to too hot. read more
