It's showing some wear and tear. Certainly needs to initiate a remodel or refresh of the current theme. Staff is hit or miss. The college kids are well college kids and the younger adults are great at all things hospitality. Location is convenient to Hwy 6 and Texas and a number of dining within a short walk or short drive. I made a reservation to stay at this Aloft location during my son's New Student Conference event at Texas A&M. We had the second day booked at the TAMU conference hotel and figured that since it was only one night, it didn't really matter where we stayed and I knew I could rely on Marriott's quality hotels for this stay. I found this hotel on their website and it looked modern and clean so I booked it. However, I was a bit taken back when we arrived and noticed a particular smell (a mix of old, smoke & mold - even though there are signs saying not to smoke) as we entered the lobby. We figured maybe it was just the lobby. We were given a room on the second floor and as we entered the room we noticed that it was extremely cold (maybe 60 or lower degrees) and my husband said that perhaps it was set that way because of the smell, which I didn't notice as much when I first entered. I went to use the restroom and immediately felt a urine odor and then saw some dripping stains on the wall in between the toilet and the sink, which appeared to be urine. We lowered the temperature and noticed the smell of mold and urine got louder as the room warmed up. We went to pick up food and my son, who is extremely allergic to mold, begin to sneeze and had a running nose. We called the front desk and told them about our experience and they offered to move us to another room but unfortunately the problem seems to be over the lobby and the hotel as a whole. We let them know that we simply couldn't stay because the hotel did not meet our expectations of a Marriott hotel. I am a platinum Bonvoy member and have stayed at various Marriott hotels over the last decade, of all levels, and unfortunately this hotel has been by far the worst. What made it worst is that we were told by staff that we would get a refund but we never did. When I called to speak with the manager, James, he was unapologetically rude and didn't seem to care much about our experience and more concerned about whether or not the staff had promised us a refund. I DO NOT recommend this hotel for anyone who cares about the condition and cleanness of where they stay or the customer service that typically comes along with a Marriott family hotel. Go down the street to the Residence Inn or any of the other ones in the area. It's not worth it. It is also most certainly NOT a family friendly hotel. This boutique hotel is very close to A&M. My room was very clean and the desk people were friendly during check in and check out, I like that the lobby is a place to just hang out. 24 hour coffee bar is also a bonus! It'll be one of my hotels of choice when I visit my Aggie at CStat. read more

A deeply disappointing stay -- nothing like what you expect from a Marriott brand. Our experience has been frustrating from the moment we arrived 7/9/2025, and it unfortunately keeps getting worse. At check-in, we entered our room to find the bathroom light didn't work. My husband went back to the front desk to resolve the issue. The staff member stared at him blankly for some time and my husband finally said, "can we get it fixed?" She said "uhhh, probably not". To my husbands surprise at this answer he inquired about a different room to which she said "no we're booked" so he then asked again for repair as we had a 3 night stay and the room was very dark without lights and she finally said "I'll see if maintenance is still here." No one ever came. When we returned again, her attitude had completely changed and--magically--another room was suddenly available. That was our welcome. Here's an overview of the issues: * The pool, which we were most excited about, was murky and clearly in need of a chemical treatment. Unable to see the bottom it's so opaque. * One elevator was broken. * The entire building smells of old cigarette smoke. * The walls are extremely thin--we could hear every step from the room above us, and something metal in our room's ceiling would rattle every time they walked. We barely slept. * We assumed breakfast was included (again, a basic Marriott standard). Instead, not even a continental breakfast was available, but a pantry section of processed foods where a simple bag of chips was $4. * The room itself was run-down, in serious need of a deep clean, fresh paint, and odor removal. Paper cups for coffee in the room were already stained with coffee(?) inside. I'll be making sure friends, family, anyone searching online for a hotel here doesn't make the same mistake we did by staying here. Run down and dirty is the perfect way to describe this hotel! Only here for a soccer tournament and this was the hotel they picked - not that there are a lot of great choices in this town!! Let's being with NO working elevator when we arrived and when it did work - it sounded like it was about to break again. Room was dirty and beat up! Not sure why Alofts don't carry their standard paint color as everyone I stay in has weird touch up paint colors in a different hue that makes it look a mess! Furniture was damaged and broken, safe did not work and view was some sketchy pond like thing that looked like a swamp! But you do get a free light show from the parking lot lights that go on and off all night and a spectacular extra bonus view of a closed Red Lobster!! The gym had a leaking AC duct and their response was a bucket below to catch the drips! At the rate it was dripping, that bucket had not been emptied for days! Coffee machine was dirty and creamer was expired. Stuff of nightmares! read more

I really like the Aloft brand of Marriott, but this one didn't work for me. The superficial parts worked, but not the parts that mattered. The outside and the lobby are just as stylish as any I've seen in this chain. A good mix of industrial chic for a modern, urban vibe. The outside had cool colored light elements, the pool looked wonderful with the blue lights. The lobby was just as funky as all of them are with a great receptionist. Didn't try the bar, but it looked good and lots of people hanging out enjoying the musician. Then we waited. For the only working elevator. The other wasn't marked as not working, but all weekend we would wait and it never opened. If you missed the elevator, you got to wait for it to come back down. The hallways were way too dark. In that creepy, "is it clean?" way. Not modern lighting, just dim. The room looked like it wanted to extend the lobby experience but it was WAY off. It was unlike any other I've been to. It just seemed cheap. Like a knock-off Ikea furniture on yard sale. The beds weren't as comfortable and the pillows were terrible. I think I have larger monitors at home than their TV. Which by the way wasn't showing local news on their satellite feed. The bathroom was roomy, but the door to the shower area was hard to close (it was a pocket door) and the recessed door handle was such cheap punched metal that I almost cut myself on the edges. This works for me. First time in a Aloft Hotel, as they only recently became part of the Marriott offering. Kinda a EuroSwank hotel, set back from University Blvd and reasonably priced. Was clean, well organized, staff was friendly and the soap/lotion selection was very nice. Beds are comfortable. I'm not a fan of the dim hallways, nor the orange/brown window shades ... but hey, I'm not living here - just passing through for a few hours of sleep. read more

Reasonable price, and clean, but very low end service. Towels are not changed, and garbage is not emptied, unless you ask for it special. Rooms have coffee makers, but if you have a cup your first day coffee will not be replaced, again, unless you ask for it special. You pay for every day, but services try to be limited to the first day. Limited small breakfast items, for an eight dollar charge. You can buy microwavable meal items, but there is only one microwave in the lobby for all guests, similar to a motel in Lodi. Better choices are available in College Station. read more

It seemed as if they lacked sufficient parking and the parking lot is cut in half by this water retention basin. So parking close to the hotel is minimal. My first impression walking in was a very modern and clean hotel space. Yet, the design extends to being too modern. One colleague phrases it as staying in an IKEA. Checkin was ok, and I received a room I requested after twisting some arms. The front desk was friendly to me but gave my colleagues a hard time about their checkout. The elevator didn't have working floor indicator lights so you'd choose a floor but not know if it was selected. This was especially problematic on a football game night when nearly every floor was selected. My only experience with this brand was the ALoft LaGuardia, so I was surprised to see that this property has rooms in nearly identical layouts. So as a brand I'm not a fan of their room design. A lot of foolish use of space and a lot of room items placed in odd spaces. Like who would expect the ironing board to be in a cubby built into the bed frame? I don't like the mini fridge in the bathroom and I hate that they don't have see-through window shades. So when it comes to the window it's either open or closed. The shower water pressure was suboptimal. Their wall mounted dispensers hold the shampoo and body wash products and they cheap out on providing individual toiletries with these dispensers. One day the toilet paper ran out and housekeeping never replaced the roll. Their WiFi was sporadic. At times it would die completely, at times it would slow to a crawl, and at other times it was usable. In room the television had the wrong aspect ratio. At the very least sports channels were HD and the correct aspect. One really negative aspect of the stay was the need for toothpaste. They have a lobby display next to the elevators that makes it look as if they sell toothpaste. But the front desk staff insist that's not the case. Sorry, that was purely for show. I'm really surprised, especially given the price mark up that they don't (A) order replacements (B) send a staff member to a store to buy travel size toiletries for resale. Seems like such an easy thing to do to appeal to guests in a pinch, and not sending them to a pharmacy late at night. In general I was pleased with housekeeping service and seeing the housekeepers in the hallway they always said hello, and even left a kind note in the room! Only negative is the hotel only gives out like 2-towels for each king room. Weak. So weak and cheap. You look at the towel rack and it's bare. It looks empty. Overall, decent value, decent room, if you can look past the design that will be outdated and look corny. read more

We really liked that there weren't many guests during our stay. The hotel looked nice and the service is always amazing! The lighting is really sparse and it makes it for a hard stay. The bed and pillows were great! One thing that we like about aloft is the smart tv but this specific hotel did not have that so we were disappointed. Do not stay here! They will take your money and turn you away. I booked a night at the Aloft in College Station, TX for this past Friday, April 9th, directly through the website. I called to confirm my reservation before making the drive upon which I had to give them my card info again, they ran my card to pay for my room and said I was all set. Upon arrival, we were told that they could not accommodate us. The said the best they could do was put us in a different hotel acrosss the street. This hotel was nowhere near the quality that we expected when we booked Aloft. The a/c did not work and we were not at all comfortable. We had stayed in an Aloft prior and booked this reservation based on the comfort and cleanliness. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude to my wife when she was asking why we weren't notified. We have reached out several times to the location and haven't been able to speak to a manager. We did not receive the quality hotel we paid for. DIRTY ROOM, CHARGED FOR 2 ROOMS AT CHECK IN, STAFF UNPROFESSIONAL... Firstly, As a former Marriott employee who worked for a franchise hotel in another city like this one and a loyal Marriott guest I was VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED on how they handled the situation! We came in town to visit my grandma for her birthday this past weekend and decided to choose this hotel. WRONG DECISION. My mother went and checked in the hotel and left (didn't go check the room) to return to the event. Upon our return later that night we got to our room and that's right you guessed it, it was a DIRTY ROOM that wasn't cleaned from the prior guests. When we notified the front desk agent he made us aware that whoever checked us in the room put us in a vacant dirty room at check in and not a vacant clean room (his exact words). At that point of the night all of the rooms were gone and they were unable to accommodate us. The assistant manager Bailey was called and she came to the hotel and the only option they gave us was for her to clean the room herself. I did not trust the manager cleaning the room herself because she is not housekeeping so I feared that the room would not be cleaned and sanitized properly. I brought this up with the manager and they DISREGARDED OUR CONCERN and insisted that she be the one to clean the room and that was our only option. My mother is a gold member and when they are unable to accommodate they must find accommodations at a nearby hotel for us. We asked if there were any hotels nearby that they could accommodate us at but she kept insisting that the hotel was a franchise and did not operate under Marriott cooperate policies, so they couldn't do that, WRONG! We spoke with Marriott and they are apart of Marriott even though they are a franchise. Long story short, we were forced to stay in the room cleaned by the manager for the night because they were not helpful in assisting with other accommodations. As for the being charged for two rooms. We did not purchase an advance rate and the hotel took the room charge PRIOR to us checking in and on top of that, charged us for two rooms instead of just the one. Of course, they were no help with this either. We contacted Marriott multiple times during and after the incident and they have tried to assist as much as they can but they leave the discretion of these types of situations to the hotel manager (who also has been no help). Overall, we had a terrible experience with this hotel and there was nothing being done to try and fix the issues and accommodate us. My mother is a gold status member with Marriott and this has left a bad taste in our mouths. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. read more

Terrible experience; don't stay here! on the last home game of the college football season, this hotel cancelled our 10 month confirmed reservation the day before the game without contacting us! As we were standing in shock in the hotel lobby, we quickly learn there were no rooms available in this hotel, or any other within 50 miles. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway with our children, turned into a disappointing and exhausting drive home on a dark, foggy night. Our visit with our children at college was cut short. This location did not have food service, outside of the morning breakfast offerings. These were all poorly executed and service was slow anyways, with no one down there besides me. Our room had stained sheets upon checkin, and so had to have the entire bedding stripped down before we could even relax after a long day if travel. We didn't see a same staffer more than once, but all were mostly attentive and friendly. Rotating labor force in college town, so understandable. Bartender Jacob was the best about this place. Otherwise, a way below average Aloft experience (stayed in about 20 different ones nationwide), and overall hotel experience at that. read more

Minus half a star. Nice hotel. Fairly new and well kept especially thinking about the flux of visitors throughout the year. Beds are no good. They are set on a platform and if you shift or move too much the mattress will slide off the platform and your pillow will fall within the gap of the mattress and headboard. The fitness area is minimal but enough to get some work done. The breakfast options are less then amazing. Mainly it's options to be reheated in a microwave. All in all it's a good place. This place is very gimmicky, so just know that. It is a reasonably priced chain, themed as a European hotel. It's pretty cool looking, but verging on cheesy in the lobby. The rooms look great though. I was very happy with the layout and the look when I walked in. The hotel is located in one of those typical, mainstream American areas with places surrounding it like Chili's, Abuelos, Blue Baker, etc... Nothing about the area makes me feel like I am in any particular place. Because of this I will probably pay the additional $30-$40 per night to stay at The La Salle moving forward. However, it's a good looking hotel, and I would definitely recommend it for the price. I don't care much about newer hotels or chain restaurants, but if I did I would probably be obsessed with Aloft. It gets four stars in my book. That seems realistic. My main issues with the hotel are not the fault of the hotel, but more so my personal preferences. read more

Came to this hotel for a weekend getaway with Mr. The hotel is very trendy, with cool lighting and a heated pool. Even the ATM machine has fluorescent black lighting. There's a very nice bar and lounge area with a pool table and all. The decor kind of puts you in the mind of a futuristic hotel from The Jetsons. Lol The hotel is dog friendly and your pet family member is welcome to stay here for free as long as you sign a waiver. they even leave a bowl of doggie treats by the door (front and back) for Fido. The room is spacious and the bed is super comfortable. As a matter of fact I don't want to get out of it LOL. This hotel is VERY kid friendly, as evidenced by the hundreds of kids galloping about. :-) Only thing I didn't like...no microwave in the room. Stayed here when we visited my daughter for the weekend for her 21st birthday. We actually had reservations elsewhere and after checking in, checked out as we didn't feel safe and the hotel was VERY dirty. We paid about $139 after tax for 2 nights at Aloft and were happy to be there after leaving the other "inn". The room was clean and modern but at $139, I would have though some type of breakfast would be included. I ended up paying $4 for a frozen Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit, which was overpriced. It was a lovely hotel, but nothing special. Next time, I will book one of the other hotels on the street, at a lower price, breakfast included. If you're looking for a clean, modern hotel within walking distance to A&M, this is a decent choice, but overpriced in my opinion. read more

I checked in at aloft two days ago with a lady who seemed to be manifesting her own set of life problems to the customers. I asked her few questions about the check in process -- she didn't even look at me and raised a finger and shushed me multiple times as if I was her buddy. On the day of the checkout I was running little late and asked what the latest check out time was: 2pm. At 1:30PM some other lady called me and told me to get out or they will call the police (???). Mind you, she started calling me "hun, ---" several times while she was on the phone. When was checking out, I made a formal complaints, and they said I was "rude" the whole timw (???? - no basis or evidence on this whatsoever and I was polite the whole time). Now I'm waiting for my uber outside, and their petty little management couldn't handle being called out for their lack of professionalism and pressed a "criminal tresspass warning" lol. I am an Asian decent LGBTQ+ member. Obviously, something must have 'offended' them, but I would NOT recommend this place at all unless you enjoy being treated like trash. read more

Modern, sleek and new. Close to most places around town. A good addition to the local hotel scene. We had a car so not sure whether their shuttle service is helpful or not. They do have a pool and the service is friendly. They could improve the towels a bit I think and the bed is also as modern as the hotel and being used to a more traditional softer bed it was hard to get used to immediately. Excellent stay at this hotel. The location was perfect for our stay because we only needed a place to crash after our visit at Santa's Wonderland. I think it took max 13 mins from there to the hotel. Downstairs is really laid back and I enjoyed having a bar open until 11pm while my kids played board games. They have a snack bar with options you would typically see but also carry ice cream treats. Kids get ice cream, Mommy gets margarita and we all go to bed happy. I would like to mention one of the staff members who I feel went out of his way to make me and my two young kids feel at home was Landon at the front desk. He must have noticed my girls on their iPads and come over to ask if they would like to play Jenga. I thought that was very kind of him to offer. I was very excited when Priceline gave me Aloft as my hotel when I named my own price. I'd heard a lot of good things and a lot of buzz about this newer hotel chain. When I first arrived, I found lots to like. The front desk staff was nice. The wifi seems fast and there's minimal hassle to sign into it - unlike some hotels. The room is modern and tastefully decorated. The complimentary bottle of water in the room is a nice touch. In other words, it's excelling as a reasonably priced hotel for business or leisure travel. But then, a couple of minor points really took away from things. First, the bath towels. Massive let-down. They were more like the tiny, thin towels that you get in high school gym class as opposed to any sort of linens you'd get at a decent hotel. Second, the air conditioning. The AC in my room never cooled down. It ran, but it never even dropped close to the temperature I set, meaning I had to set it even lower to get it where I was hoping to get it to begin with. The lack of any free options for breakfast was a minor thing, but it's become almost a baseline expectation with most popularly priced hotels. In other words, Aloft needs to step up. Yes, you're hip, trendy, and buzzworthy. But if you want to stay relevant to me on my travels, I'd like the room to be cool in the literal sense as well as the aesthetic sense. Fix the air conditioning and invest in some new towels and I'll gladly return. read more

However, breakfast was not your typical continental breakfast and that made me a little upset, should've done more research I suppose. After staying here a few times now, I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the BEST hotels in all of College Station. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and has fixed a few problems for us with an incredible sense of urgency. The lobby is a little bit untraditional in its layout/design and this only adds to the ALoft charm. You'll find a large, open, and fully stocked bar, pool tables, plenty of seating, and a convenient grab-n-go food area all located on the 1st floor lobby. The rooms are always open, clean, and providing a hip ambiance that is consistent with the ALoft brand. You'll find plenty of power outlets for your devices (yes, this is a big deal as I find most hotels lack outlets and you end up unplugging lamps), stylish bathrooms, excellent water pressure in the showers, and an easy to use cable tv system (again this is a big deal as I find some hotels have a confusing, non-user friendly cable tv system). My only two knocks on this hotel are 1.) The sliding bathroom door. These seem to never close all the way and they let plenty of noise OUT when your using the toilet. Can be a little awkward for the other guests staying in the room with you. 2.) The location of this ALoft with its large water drainage ponds out front force the front of hotel parking to be quite far from the front door. Not that I have a problem with walking, I just know that it can be difficult for the older guests especially if they are carrying bags etc. Overall, the ALoft is my Go To hotel from now on when staying on College Station! read more

The Aloft is a decent stay in a town lacking hotel options. I had higher expectations because I loved the Aloft in London - oh well. At College Station, the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious with plenty of space to place my luggage. I also liked the large and new(ish) TV and numerous electricity outlets around the room. Rating is A-OK due to the lack of cleanliness of the room. There was dust everywhere, I was afraid to touch anything. Also, the shower had grime with poor water pressure. I also was not a fan of those rough towels. read more

College Station has certainly developed over last few years, lots of new hotels, restaurants, apartments and still growing. I was in town for a night - for a career fair. Rooms were super modern and fancy. Pretty comfortable bed. TV had good cable and HBO. The lobby is really nice. Did not use the wifi in the hotel. They had all the useful amenities for business customers like coffee maker, bottled water, wardrobe and ironing table with iron. The shower was great - sink and toilet were modern. Towels were a little low quality for me, but no big deal. They had some supplies downstairs for a late night snack and breakfast but nothing fresh. I would have liked free included fresh breakfast for business customers. Also, bottled water was charged and expensive. The reception staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. Did not see bell hop or valet. There was an outdoor pool, which looked great - especially if the weather would be warm. Overall, very comfortable stay and would return back for sure. read more

Nice hotel but here's why it only gets a three in my book. Batteries were dead in the TV remote. Card keys didn't work at back entrance as we were told. Bed was comfortable. Nice shower. I slept well. but then... Every item on the breakfast menu seems to include a poached egg? Who does that? Part of the reason we chose to stay here was so we could have breakfast before checking out. We had to go out to find something other than poached eggs to eat. I doubt I'd stay here again or recommend it to anyone unless you're really into poached eggs. read more

DIRTY BATHROOM- I have stayed before in this hotel and decided to go back because I had a good impression. This second time it wasn't clean. The bathroom was FILTHY!! There were many hairs from previous guests stuck to the shower walls and overall appearance of bathroom (toilet, floor, door) was dirty. The situation would be unacceptable under any circumstances but specially during these Covid-19 times it is more disturbing. The front desk was annoyed when we asked if someone could please clean the shower and did not offer any kind of apology or customer service words. Moreover, the cleaning staff never came to clean our bathroom. The front desk herself came to the room 4 hours later and wiped the shower with paper towels and spray. New hotel since about October 2015. Not all Alofts are the same. This location is only 4 story Our room had a small refrigerator and there was an ice machine down the hall. The hotel is very modern. Very comfortable beds and nice shower. The pool located on the university side would change lighting colors every few seconds at night. There is FUEL area in the lobby to buy many overpriced snack items or toiletries. Fancy bar down stairs if you are into that sort of thing. read more

We arrived at 12:30am and waited 5-10 minutes for someone to come out to reception. At check in, I asked for wireless keycard, but after taking a long time, I told the receptionist just to give me the standard key and she explained that for some reason her computer wasn't working and that's why it was taking her so long to figure out the wireless keycard. Then went to our room which had a temp of 85 degrees. My husband and I both tried to adjust the temperature of the air conditioner and after being exhausted we all just fell asleep. Throughout the night, the temperature never changed. All four of us got less than 5 hours sleep. This was officially had the worst hotel experience in my life, and just to add some color, I have stayed in hotel over 400 nights in the last 5 years including a hotel with no power. I told the receptionist at 5:30am that we had issues with our air conditioning and she said that she couldn't help me and that I needed to wait till 7:00am for maintenance and the other receptionist to arrive. Needless to say, between 5:30am and 9:00am when we checked out, no one came to our room to look at the air conditioning. I also asked to speak to a manager, and the new receptionist said that they would have her contact me as soon as she got in. It is now 4 days since I stayed at the hotel and have not been contacted at all. Yes they gave us breakfast to alleviate some of our frustration, but its still extremely disappointing to have no engagement with the staff as the issue we faced especially as I was promised that both maintenance and the manager would be following up with me.
