The best stay we've ever had!! Hotel McCoy College Station is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. It is a place where art, fun, and comfort meet. The rooms are cozy, quirky, and stylish, with retro touches and modern amenities. The beds are ridiculously comfy, and the TVs are huge and have streaming and gaming options. The hotel is full of art, games, and books, and the lobby is like a gallery. The bar is hyper-local and serves amazing drinks and snacks. The pool area is a paradise, with a saltwater pool, a fire pit, and a mural. The breakfast buffet is delicious and varied, and the Mexican food truck is mouthwatering. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and they treated us like royalty. They gave us tips and recommendations on the area, and they even surprised us with a bottle of wine and a handwritten note for our anniversary. We had a blast at Hotel McCoy College Station, and we can't wait to come back. This hotel is a must-stay for anyone visiting College Station. Thank you, Hotel McCoy, for making our trip so special!

But here's the thing--when something goes wrong at a hotel and they make you a promise to fix it, they should actually fix it. That hasn't been our experience here. In 2023 we had some legitimate issues, such as there was a minibar charge made on our account when we didn't use the minibar, restaurant service that was frustratingly slow, a broken light in our balcony. When I wrote about it, management responded by offering us a free night--in writing, no conditions mentioned. We said 'thanks, we'll take you up on it when we're back in town.' Fast forward to now. Every time we we've tried to use it, something new comes up. The examples below are ones I can document (there were other verbal conversations I can't full reconstruct): * First it was football weekends (which, fair enough--but that was never mentioned when they made the offer) * Then a separate "special event" exclusion got invented when a non-football event came to town for a date we were interested in * Then I picked a date off their own list of available dates offered by one of their managers, and I was told now all the sudden there's actually a two-night minimum--after the had urged me to pick something quickly and I responded the same evening (within 90 minutes) * Then a dinner gift card that was offered in writing got pulled back a week later * Then they asked for a certificate number--there was never any certificate issued; the original offer was just 'let me know and I'll book you in' One of their managers actually admitted in writing that the restrictions were never explained upfront. And still--no confirmed booking as of April 2026. I've got the whole email chain if anyone doubts any of this. I'll update the review if they actually come through. Haven't been able to hold my breath that long yet.

The staff at the Stella was so kind and allowed us to use their speakeasy bar for the ceremony and it couldn't have been more perfect! Dawn was an incredible help and coordinated everything that morning. She also made sure people didn't walk in during the ceremony. Pam was just a blessing helping do everything at the last minute like setting up the Bluetooth music, pinning the boutonnière on the groom and even fixing peoples hair unprompted. She knew exactly what we needed even when we didn't. Truly exceptional! We also stayed at the hotel and had a problem-free time. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good. They also have a beautiful waterfront to sit or play in front of. Highly recommend The Stella!

Rooms are spacious and large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is large although I found the shower a bit odd as there is no floor spacing with the shower area as there is no separation from the drain. So if you shower, have the curtain up and hope that the water doesn't accumulate. The exercise room is pretty big with complimentary towels and water bottles although the exercise machines are right in front of the windows so the sun may shine on you as you're trying to attack the treadmill. The pool area is spacious with plenty of lounge seats. There's also cornhole in the massive yard next to the lobby; a nice touch. Parking is complimentary with valet parking available. There's a few shops/restaurants nearby that you can dine at if you don't want to venture further out in the Bryan/College Station area. I'd be open to staying here again as this was one of the more impressive Marriott properties I've encountered.

We checked in for our retreat in the hotel lobby. The hotel is located in an area with lots of retail shops and restaurants. The parking was not ideal and most of the garage spots were filled. The hotel pool is out in the center of a communal area with all the restaurants so not a lot of privacy there. The hotel did an amazing job at hosting our retreat. We used the Statesman room that had many tables and chairs to accommodate our group of 100+. We had breakfast in this area as well as our Roaring 20s evening where I had the best prime rib spread that I had ever experienced. The prime rib was prepared to perfection and served buffet style with au jus and horseradish sauce. There were also fresh veggies served including carrots, green beans and broccoli and they were prepared Al dente style just how I like them. There was a potato bar where you could build your own loaded mashed potatoes. We received 2 drink tickets where we could choose from a variety of beverages including beer, wine or cocktails. I had two pineapple margaritas. There were also many flavors of cupcakes served for dessert. The best part of the hotel were these ceramic sheep decorations that the Beef Team enjoyed posing with and moving them to various locations around the hotel for photo purposes. It made for a good source of entertainment. Overall thought the George Hotel did an excellent job at hosting our Beef Team retreat.

Upon entering, the lobby is huge, spacious and very nice. Everything was clean and kept up well. It even had a nice smell all throughout the building. I booked a 2 queen 2 room suite and I really enjoyed the layout. It didn't feel so congested and this can be a perfect room for a family of 3-4 to offer some privacy as the couch is also a pull out bed. The hotel wasn't as modern but it was still a nice hotel. Later in the evening I opened my bed stand drawer and noticed dirty napkins inside which made me think that housekeeping missed that which is pretty gross but I just left it alone as so understand mistakes do happen and thankfully I don't use the drawers in hotels anyway. What I was most excited about booking here was the complimentary breakfast!!! You cannot beat an omelet bar and it was tasty!! There's many options to choose from and I love that they let me get an extra omelet for my sister who was in the room sleeping and didn't even question it. There's options for everyone including cereal, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, bagels and more. I'd definitely return to embassy suites and hopefully I'll stay more than one night next time. Their checkin is at 4 pm and checkout is at 11 am so more than 1 night is needed. Also I do want to add that I stayed here for Santa's Wonderland nearby and the hotel staff had two goodie bags waiting for me and my sister. It was super cute and thoughtful. Of course, that and anything else Aggie is played way up here at the Texas A&M Hotel. I was in town for a Class of 1980 Reunion and snagged a very reasonable $142 per night group rate. I didn't get the Kyle field view, but on a non-game weekend, so what? I enjoyed my 3 day stay very much. The room was spacious, had nice desk space, plenty of storage, and really comfortable bed that I slept well on, good WIFI, and an excellent shower. I ordered breakfast sandwiches at the cafe on ground floor, checked out the Aggie branded merchandise at their well appointed gift shop, enjoyed a grand happy hour reception at Block T, and felt honored by all the Howdy Hospitality. This Hotel's campus location made walking anywhere very convenient, especially since I didn't rent a car. This place most probably takes on more boisterous energy on game day, and I was happy with the slower pace during my stay. The Texas A&M Hotel would be a definite first choice in some future return trip to Aggieland.

On our second day, the breakfast was so good! The front desk provided fresh towels upon request and in a quick manner. We left something in our room (realized after we were already home), and the front desk was able to retrieve it so that it was able to be picked up by another family member still there. The not so good...We stayed for two nights. In our particular room, there were a few issues. The sink was extremely slow draining. There was solid/dried mucus stuck to the bedside table. There were three rods sticking out from under the box spring (they were hidden by the bed skirt). Two people in our room were cut and bruised by the rods. They were protruding 3 inches. We covered them with towels to avoid any further injuries. When pulling up the bed skirt, we noticed it had not been laundered (this may be the reason the rods weren't noticed). Breakfast on the first morning was plentiful, however, there were three long hairs stuck inside the cheese of the omelet. We don't expect perfect, especially from an older hotel, but there were too many things during this visit. Adding that Hilton did give us 30K points for the inconveniences when I called to inform of the issues. I do believe an upgrade would help.

We had the second day booked at the TAMU conference hotel and figured that since it was only one night, it didn't really matter where we stayed and I knew I could rely on Marriott's quality hotels for this stay. I found this hotel on their website and it looked modern and clean so I booked it. However, I was a bit taken back when we arrived and noticed a particular smell (a mix of old, smoke & mold - even though there are signs saying not to smoke) as we entered the lobby. We figured maybe it was just the lobby. We were given a room on the second floor and as we entered the room we noticed that it was extremely cold (maybe 60 or lower degrees) and my husband said that perhaps it was set that way because of the smell, which I didn't notice as much when I first entered. I went to use the restroom and immediately felt a urine odor and then saw some dripping stains on the wall in between the toilet and the sink, which appeared to be urine. We lowered the temperature and noticed the smell of mold and urine got louder as the room warmed up. We went to pick up food and my son, who is extremely allergic to mold, begin to sneeze and had a running nose. We called the front desk and told them about our experience and they offered to move us to another room but unfortunately the problem seems to be over the lobby and the hotel as a whole. We let them know that we simply couldn't stay because the hotel did not meet our expectations of a Marriott hotel. I am a platinum Bonvoy member and have stayed at various Marriott hotels over the last decade, of all levels, and unfortunately this hotel has been by far the worst. What made it worst is that we were told by staff that we would get a refund but we never did. When I called to speak with the manager, James, he was unapologetically rude and didn't seem to care much about our experience and more concerned about whether or not the staff had promised us a refund. I DO NOT recommend this hotel for anyone who cares about the condition and cleanness of where they stay or the customer service that typically comes along with a Marriott family hotel. Go down the street to the Residence Inn or any of the other ones in the area. It's not worth it. It is also most certainly NOT a family friendly hotel. My husband said it reminded him of the low quality hotels in the projects.
