I will start with the good. The staff were all very friendly, professional, and apologetic. The A/C worked great. The water pressure in the shower was perfect and plenty of hot water. On our second day, the breakfast was so good! The front desk provided fresh towels upon request and in a quick manner. We left something in our room (realized after we were already home), and the front desk was able to retrieve it so that it was able to be picked up by another family member still there. The not so good...We stayed for two nights. In our particular room, there were a few issues. The sink was extremely slow draining. There was solid/dried mucus stuck to the bedside table. There were three rods sticking out from under the box spring (they were hidden by the bed skirt). Two people in our room were cut and bruised by the rods. They were protruding 3 inches. We covered them with towels to avoid any further injuries. When pulling up the bed skirt, we noticed it had not been laundered (this may be the reason the rods weren't noticed). Breakfast on the first morning was plentiful, however, there were three long hairs stuck inside the cheese of the omelet. We don't expect perfect, especially from an older hotel, but there were too many things during this visit. Adding that Hilton did give us 30K points for the inconveniences when I called to inform of the issues. I do believe an upgrade would help. read more

I have a picture of the duvet we slept under the first night, and you can clearly see multiple stains (We believe the larger one is blood, but regardless, it was disgusting they put us under a filthy, stained duvet). When we returned on day two from our day in College Station, we started to straighten up the bed and saw the stains. When I went downstairs to complain, all the attendant at the desk did was give me a different one and expected me to strip the bed and change the bedding. There was a point where my wife went into the bathroom to prepare for her shower and had to kill a cockroach that was wandering around the bathroom. When we told the front desk, they blew it off and said they would have someone look at our room after we checked out. The Wi-Fi continuously dropped. We were in a room over the lobby so we expected to have a decent signal. The signal kept dropping and doubled the time I needed to get some work done as I had to keep logging in after reconnecting. When I wrote to the hotel, they never responded, even after complaining twice. They do not take their 100% satisfaction guarantee seriously. The room we got was dirty. The bedding was old and dirty and snagged. The TV didn't work and the wall sconces didn't work. We called down and they moved us to another room and we walked in the new room and the smell of cat pee hit us in the face. The carpet was wet. By far the worst hotel I've ever been in. it doesn't even deserve a 1 star. If I could give it a 0 I would. do not ignore these reviews please. when you walk in it smells absolutely disgusting and horrible, I couldn't even mind my manners and bust out laughing about how awful the smell and overall look of the run down piece of crap. we go up the nasty elevator and get to the down right disgusting hall ways that still stink and have wires just exposed we get to our room and you can hardly even get the key card to work. We get into the room that's to small to hardly move. 4 of us have to share full beds. the room is gross nasty and downright awful. you can touch the bathroom ceiling which is yellow btw. mold in corners, and carpets dirty. definitely keep shoes on wherever you walk. I won't even attempt to go see what the nasty gym or pool may look like...You can just tell the covers aren't freshly changed and the covers are ripped. definitely don't recommend and will never come back or take suggestions from people again. read more

Well below Hampton Inn standards I have come to expect. Dirty, would not let wife and kids to sleep here.

This Hampton says "renovations are on the way", and I'll take their word for it. Honestly our room was fine, except that each of the two double beds was about the smallest double I have seen. It made things interesting, but everything was clean and as it should be. Breakfast was especially good the first day; the potatoes were well cooked and well seasoned, and the scrambled eggs were absolutely perfect - not often seen in a hotel breakfast! The second day's potatoes, not sure how they managed it, but the texture was more like that of a cooked onion than a browned potato. Not a big deal. The main reason I'm not at 5 stars was the mildly-hydrophobic towels. If you've ever bought super-cheap towels, and then found that they'd rather smear water around than absorb it, you've experienced hydrophobic towels. The towels at the Hampton weren't the worst, but they weren't very motivated water-absorbers either. In other words, you didn't really feel dry even after "drying off". Every member of my group noticed it. read more

And to charge almost $400/per night that was a crime. A Motel 6 would have been a better option. The people who work there weren't even nice. The only good thing was the water pressure and hot water. The beds are old box springs, and when you lay down on it, it's like sleeping on a slope. The pillows were small and uncomfortable. We both woke up with headaches, neck, and shoulder pain. If you stay here, bring some pain relievers for the morning! The light outside the window was as bright as daylight, so we did not sleep very well, either. The ceilings look like they're about to cave in and there was some kind of mold on the ceiling in the shower. The whole place felt musty. Many silverfish bugs in bathroom. Gross. When you're laying in bed, you imagine that's what you're feeling on you. Noisy. Yes, this is a college town. But it's not people that are loud. It's the doors. This place is not insulated. (We took a pic at night so you can see that the door doesn't meet the floor). When I say we didn't sleep, we didn't get one minute of sleep. The doors in this hotel slam. And you hear them in the room. Loud slamming. Yelp won't let me upload the toilet video. It screams for several minutes when you flush. A high pitched scream. The room was noisy. there was a 2 inch gap under the door. you could hear everything going on in the hall, and the light was coming in through the gap. I could feel the springs on the bed so it's not your normal pillow top from Hampton inn. The sheets were dirty, too. The toilet did not work. The night time staff was rude. I'm not sure if it was a manager, but a guy was reprimanding another employee while I was waiting for assistance at the front desk. The hotel is just old and dirty. 2 stars for close to campus, a bed and shower. This is nothing like any Hampton Inn I've been to. Don't let the pics on their website deceive you. We arrived late after a long, stressful trip and expected to be able to relax upon arrival. However, the room was above 80-degrees, extremely humid, and smelled musty. Also, the bathroom had mold and mildew throughout it, the wallpaper was peeling and moldy, the bathtub was cracked and filthy, the shower rod was broken and curtain ripped so water went all over the floor. I took pictures and informed the front desk, but nobody followed up. In addition, I rushed down to the breakfast at 9:55 to quickly grab something to eat but they had already closed. Must say it's a nice location in relation to the middle of everything in Aggie land. Just about anything you could want to do or see or eat in Col Station is near so that was nice. The hotel however is a much older Hampton style with very tiny bathrooms and a dated layout. It's well maintained, has friendly staff and a nice typical Hampton breakfast. Had cookies out which always makes things better and was for one night so worked for our needs. We were pulling a uhaul so happy for the large parking lot and quiet Friday night here to stay. Would do again although would probably consider the hotel next door or the Embassy down a block if the rates were similar. read more

Just a mediocre hotel. Definitely in need of some upgrades and maintenance. Room is very humid and musty. Bathroom is small. No fridge or safe in room. Room 241 is a king size room by stairwell, very noisy. Upsets my dog and caused him to bark every time the door opened and closed. We went out the back door and it is supposed to have room key entry but all you have to do is pull on the handle. It's broken. Does have a small pool. The hotel is surrounded by college student apartments and a parking garage. Noisy at times but generally the loud music stops early. I only stayed two nights but my boyfriend has been here for 2 weeks. Only encountered one employee here, Stevee. He was very friendly and helpful. Boyfriend says everyone has been nice and helpful. They were very accommodating to him working nights and cleaning his room later in the day. Only saw a tiny little bug in bathroom and two dead ones on ceiling in there. Breakfast was good. They have lots of options. However it's close to several places to eat within walking distance. Overall I would stay here again. read more

Unfortunately, I have to give this hotel 1 out of 5 due to the condition of the hotel and service I received during my stay. This was one of the worst Hilton brand hotel I have ever stayed. I got a room for one night and paid $272/night. I would have rather stayed at a different property (if they had rooms available for that night) rather than staying at this place. Some of the things I noticed during my stay were: My room had paint chipping off from the ceiling, there was a to-go box left inside the fridge which tells me that the housekeeping never opened the fridge during the cleaning process, part of ceiling was about to fall off in the bathroom, had an exhaust fan without a switch to turn it on etc. After staying at this property, I would say this hotel needs some serious renovation. I would recommend Hilton to take away their franchise tag from this particular property. I hope after reading this review, someone from the internal team can take action and contact me directly to hear about my experience in detail. read more

This hotel is gross. There are stains all over the couch and the couch cushions. The places looks as if it haven't been cleaned since 1990. There is approximately one outlet in a convenient location, so if you want to charge multiple devises you are severely out of luck. Also the bathroom is a legit 2 by 4 and i can extend my arms out and touch all four walls. Do not stay here. There are so many better options so please just don't waste your money. read more

It's actually slightly better than A-OK and I do recommend this hotel and stay here on repeat visits. To be fair it's really a 3.5 rating which rounds up to a 4-stars The pros: - Beds are nice, sheets are clean, never an issue w/ the bed - which is very important. It's firm too which I like. - Room overall is sufficient for my needs. Towels are clean, A/C works and is cool, good alarm clocks that works and a big bonus - - they added an upgraded 4 plug outlet including USB plugs on the nightstand for all your charging needs (cell, laptop, C-PAP, etc). Free wifi too - - but that's a given. - TV is up to date 32-34" flatbscreen, approx 34 channels, you get the basics + ESPN (3-4) + Showtime + USA + Comedy, etc..... - Free hot breakfast! Wow! Awesome! Cuz that's not as common nowadays as some places charge double digits for just a Migas breakfast plate! WTF?!? They have scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, biscuits, waffle maker, pastries, fruit, yogurt, bagels + cream cheese, muffins, cereal, and juice from concentrated machine + coffee 24/7 offered. Great deal if u have children. - Brown bag breakfasts to go at the front desk w/ muffin + cereal bar + fruit if you can't stick around. - Price is reasonable, with my corporate rate (when available) is under $100 / night which makes it a hard to pass these guys up. - Parking spaces are plentiful, never had an issue finding a spot close to the front door. - Relatively good location close to gas stations and good restaurants / stores. The Ehhhhs: - Bathrooms are very small, although you may not spend a lot of time there, it's smaller than what you may be used to - The irons suck - - cheap and don't work well, some leak, take too long to heat up and don't iron as nicely as my top-of-the-line Rowenta (yeah I'm spoiled). It's so undesirable that I always think about bringing my own iron. - No pool (can't go skinny dippin') - No laundry facilities (can't wash dirty socks n undergarments) - Huge construction next door can be somewhat distracting, although it's quiet at night time - (Goes for all hotels) prices skyrocket during game weekends, in some cases 50% or more based off availability (although it's like this everywhere) - Inconsistent service: some staff are nice, some are just business, some are not social or friendly, it's inconsistent but never had a bad or rude experience here - generally good. Same thing on the phone as well. - I would love more select channels like HBO or Max - Not all rooms have a fridge - would be nice - 4th Floor is smoking allowed - even though it says non-smoking floor, I smelled smoke while on way to my room and notified the front desk who informed me that it's allowed. Had I known that I would have requested a different floor. The room insulation was pretty good - but I have a sensitive nose and could pick up the smell off and on (gives me a headache). Overall I still recommend this place and stay here if and when the price is right. It's got what's important for me - - new beds w/ clean sheets, clean rooms and bathrooms, easy parking, ample plugs, working TV, and free hot breakfast. read more

1st thing it's only one block from TAMU. Too bad the dreary Plaza hotel still hangs a shadow over this place. The rooms have been recently remodeled and meet my expectations for a Hampton Inn. It is located on the main road that runs through most of the Bryan-College Station area. It can get very busy with Fire fighter school and A&M visitor. The breakfast buffet nook get's packed between 6-8. So the to-go breakfast bag options are your best bet if your in a rush or don't like to bump elbows. And don't forget about the 4:30 cookies... there can be a made dash for these depending on the people traffic when your there. read more

Front desk ladies are rude, and when you book through a third party your info doesn't show up in their system. Booked a week in advance non-smoking king room. Check in they give me keys for room 115 which is basically in the loud lobby across from the elevator. I open the door, it is a wheel chair room with a small bed (full), and it smells like cigarettes. I walk 10 feet to the lobby and tell them this is not what I booked. They tell me well were sold out due to a track field event (hotel filled with students), and its out only room. I have the reservation canceled and walk to hilton home2 next door. Overall, and average to below average Hampton property. The rooms tend to always have stray long hairs in all of the bedding and towels, kind of nasty. Also, because it is by the college, you get a lot of college age kids staying there...and they can be loud at night with door slamming and etc...
