Unfortunately, this experience was so disappointing that I will never stay here again, and I will be recommending that my company's travel team in Louisville remove this property from our preferred hotel list. The problems began at dinner. I was meeting with two male coworkers, and the restaurant was unbearably hot. It was so uncomfortable that we left before finishing our meal. Both of my coworkers had sweat literally rolling down their faces. It was impossible to enjoy the meal or conduct a business dinner in those conditions. Check-in was equally frustrating. I had checked in online and requested a mobile key. When I arrived, Mark at the front desk manager told me I had nit checked in. He also told me he could not charge my stay to the credit card saved in my Marriott Bonvoy profile. I use that card for my Marriott stays all the time. Rather than trying to find a solution, he repeatedly told me what he was "not authorized" to do. The worst part came when I entered my room. It felt like a sauna. Although the thermostat was set to 64 degrees, the actual room temperature was 88 degrees. To make matters worse, the room phone was not charged, so I had to call the front desk from my cell phone. When I explained the situation, Mark told me the hotel was completely sold out and that, because of the extreme outdoor temperatures, the air conditioning was not working properly. I asked if he could recommend another nearby hotel with availability. His answer was simply, "No." There was no apology, no empathy, no attempt to find a solution, and no effort to make the situation right. Equipment failures can happen, especially during periods of extreme heat. What should never happen is a complete lack of customer service. A sincere apology, an effort to assist in finding alternative accommodations, or even a gesture acknowledging the inconvenience would have made a significant difference. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had as a frequent business traveler, and I cannot recommend this property to anyone. @marriott @titanium @westin @westinwestminster By the way the 2 rooms across from me are cool and the guests had no problems with the air! Mark didn't even send up a repair person!

Drury Plaza is a fairly high-end 7-story hotel just off the Boulder Turnpike at Church Ranch…read more Normally they're a bit over my budget. During slow times, however, they can be quite affordable. Here are a few specific notes. Lighting: My room had lights in the right places, and the bulbs were bright enough to read by. Shower: The "rain" style shower head was mounted fairly high and worked well. The manufacturer of the "Nourish" brand shampoo trumpets high-end, luxury products, but goes to great lengths to hide the ingredients; it turns out that the shampoo contains SLS, which many people find drying and rash-inducing. Security: Like most hotels, Drury Plaza is situated in a "transitional space" which invites ne'er-do-wells. The outside is ringed with good lighting and cameras. Inside, the staff is very alert. While I was at the buffet, a non-guest wandered in; it took less than 30 seconds for a manager to redirect the interloper to the door, and numerous staff members materialized and cheerfully greeted everyone in the area (presumably to make sure that everyone belonged). Food: The "Evening Kick-Back" is a full meal. They rotate between three buffet-style menus, but there are enough extras to mix-and-match a wide variety of meals. At the height of a flu outbreak, I saw a lady cough into her hand then handle half a dozen serving utensils...everyone following her picked up a nice dose of virus. No hand sanitizer was provided (which meets the local health code--I checked--but many other states require sanitizer stations at buffets).

The bar/eatery onsite called The Placery has a limited but yummy menu--during happy hour, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup today with a slice of NY cheesecake, and a glass of their Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was particularly delicious--Patricia the bartender told me that this Canvas brand of wine is only available at Hyatt hotels though it's grown in Napa Valley. Intriguing! Patricia was also really nice to converse with, she's definitely a people person! The fitness room is open 24/7, with a decent selection of free weights, a cable column machine weight machine and various cardio machines. The indoor pool is open during the day. It feels about 85 degrees and comfortable with deck chairs and a shower. Coin operated washing machines and dryers for $2 each, and single load laundry detergent and dryer sheets available at the front desk ($9 total). Just behind the hotel are the easily accessible bike/pedestrian trails called the Big Dry Creek Trail. On top of it all, today it snowed outside! Just for a couple hours but it was a treat for a California girl like me. For a mid level reasonably priced hotel, this one exceeded my expectations! I'd happily come back given the opportunity.

Long story short there was no Wi-Fi available during my entire stay and my reception was not great in the room. It was definitely a little frustrating, but luckily I didn't have to get work done. If you just need a clean place to sleep with a good breakfast and free parking, this works. The place was easy to find. I love the fact that the interstate, eateries and shopping is close. When we arrived we were greeted upon entry. Our room was on the 6th floor and we had a corner room which was very nice. The room was clean neatly decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was good this morning. I really loved the cheese omelette and fresh fruit. There was a bit of a variety and everything was fresh and being made to order. The staff was very polite and prompt the dinning area was clean and well stocked. Until next time it was great and we will be back!!!
