The ceiling in our room on the 6th floor :/
    Krystal H.

The only good part of this stay was most the staff in the restaurant. I called the day before our stay to ask if they had anything available for birthdays. The conversation was awkward and the person on the phone seemed like maybe they were new. I was put on hold so they could ask. They returned quite a long time later and asked if they could help me. I replied that I was waiting for someone with information about a birthday. "Oh, I forgot we had that conversation" was her reply and she laughed. She said sometimes they could do chocolate covered strawberries. I said that would be great and she asked how many I wanted. I asked the cost and she wasn't sure. She put me on hold again. Came back and said she'd have to have her manager call me. At this point I said nevermind and she told me since she already wrote it down, someone would call me back. I made sure she had my phone number and name. No one ever called me back. When we checked in the next day, we arrived later than expected because our flight delayed landing due to storms. The suite that we paid extra for and already checked into via the app had been given away. Same goes for our friends' room. It took them quite awhile to get us into new rooms which is not what you hope for after a long day of travel delays. When we got into our room, the AC was not cold and the ceiling was discolored with portions of it missing. It honestly looked like it would cave in at any moment. The bathroom did not feel clean; there were sequins / glitter on the floor. The room and bathroom were really dated and felt pretty gross. The saving grace was the following staff that prepared specialty coffee and helped us during breakfast: Maria Gomez, Sandra, Raul Jr., Jeremiah, JJ and Eden. These employees were kind, helpful and pleasant. When we tried to eat dinner at the restaurant, there was only one table seated and we were told there'd be a 30min wait because they were short staffed. When we finally were seated and ordered, they brought me a meal that wasn't mine. When I pointed out it wasn't what I ordered I was asked if I wanted that instead. No, I want what I ordered. When we checked out, the person checking us out was Jolene, the same person I spoke with on the phone the day before our arrival. We had been charged for the room we reserved but didn't get. She told us it was the same price. It wasn't, because we paid extra for this. After a lot of long silences and blank stares she called her manager who said they'd call back after fixing the issue. They called back and she gave us updated paperwork. The issue wasn't fixed. Jolene continued to tell us it was fixed, and we kept showing her that it wasn't. Her manager called back and fixed the issue, but It took us nearly 45minutes to check out. We transferred to the Doubletree by the hotel (on Tower) and it was a night and day experience.

Top floor bedroom, Hilton Doubletree of Arvada.

Overall, I had a good stay at this Hilton Doubletree in Arvada during July 2021. The property seems to be updated, and I had zero issues with my top floor room area with a king sized bed. One of the benefits of this room was that I went to sleep and awoke with a view of downtown Denver from my bed. The downside of this property? Its in a section of Arvada that has gone really downhill in recent years. In fact, its just "meh." I love being close to residential areas, yet not slightly dumpy residential areas where people don't take care of their property. Just my opinion. However, this property is somewhat close to the interstate. Customer service was a night & day difference. While I thought the customer service from the breakfast crew was outstanding, the front desk did not mirror the same standard. The young, large Hispanic male with glasses was more interested in getting to his offsite appointment than he was checking me in (the digital key was not an option here), which led to no standard information conveyed. This was important, as the standard WiFi access didn't work, and I had to wait a while on the phone just to use a different access altogether. Sucks, but welcome to Covid standards, 2021. Breakfast is on a credit system. For those that usually have the option of using points or free breakfast, Hilton now offers either a $10 or $12 credit towards breakfast. I believe this property offers $12. The breakfast options here are pretty good- nutritious, and filling. Breakfast is within the large bar room area. Overall, not bad. Yet could ve better.

I'm seriously disappointed... It is under renovation and not worth the $. Nice staff encounters ... Friendly & professional more or less... But subpar for a Doubletree. We are Hilton honors Diamond for decades... so this was NO square deal. Sigh... I have 2 stars because it's still substantially better than lesser properties or brands here. I won't stay at lesser properties if possible. We are on a "road trip" from Grand Rapids to Los Angeles ... Now in Green River Utah for Arches National Park tomorrow... Then on to Vegas... Lots of hotels because before Grand Rapids we were in London & Paris ... Having flown in directly from London to Grand Rapids. Continuous travel since early May. We've been in 4 Hilton family properties and 1 Marriott + 1 VBRO in Paris this month

This is the era where upscale hotels are using the minimalist approach in displaying information as to amenities. This hotel on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being top notch and 3 being average for the brand. Why? Construction in various areas, my deadbolt door lock is in serious need of readjustment ( hard to lock with out using some strength to properly align it). My room is spacious and the overall cleanliness is above average. Yet, no material on housekeeping whether green or otherwise, not pamphlets on close by eateries except at front desk and the long wait time for check in. I can say the grounds, lobby and parking ( bountiful) are well maintained. My point of contacts have been (August) and Day Front Desk Manager ( Danielle) both very helpful in listening to my concerns with the mishap room pre-selection app- recheck in, deadbolt door lock not clasping properly ( security issue), TV on in room upon check in ( strange) construction alert needed in advance due to dust, bathroom sink water stopper not inoperable, ant alert ( bathroom) and other small minor quality control factors. After my discussion with Danielle I am sure many of these issues will be address in accordance with the Hilton Brand. On a very positive note the restaurant (Tree House) during my dinner was amazing (Nick) our serve had loads of energy and was exceptional with good recommendations on options. My tacos were were well seasoned and simply amazing -- but for some quality control issues the restaurant would have been rated five stars.

I was here for a conference and the ballroom they kept us in was beautiful and the bartenders were friendly. The situation that truly made this hotel shine was a unique one. On my last night there, my colleagues and I were walking back from a bar around the corner. We are not familiar with the frozen bodies of water and decided to play with the ice on the pond in front of the hotel. After a few moments of tossing pieces of ice across the pond, one of my rings that is very sentimental to me flew off my finger and across the frozen pond. I was heartbroken and everyone told me there was nothing I could do and that it was a lost cause. The following morning, I told the front desk the situation. They told me they would call maintenance and see if there was anything they could do for me. That's when Rick came out to assess the situation. He was SO kind and understanding as he tried to come up with a solution. When he realized how far out the ring was, he decided to get one of the hotel engineers, Omar, involved. He came out and was every but as kind and pleasant as Rick had been. I had breakfast reservations I was cutting it close to and they told me to go ahead and go enjoy myself while I let them figure the situation out. Once I arrived back to the hotel, the same kind girl that checked me into the hotel was holding my ring beaming at me in excitement. I couldn't believe it!! I still don't know how they did it, but they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me with a situation that had nothing to do with the hotel and they could have easily given up on. I am eternally grateful and will always stay here when in the area!!!

What we experienced was far below Marriott standards and caused significant disruption to both our vacation and my husband's work conference. Our stay at the Westin Westminster (June 7-12): The issues at this property were extensive and ongoing. Housekeeping repeatedly failed to properly clean our room, make the beds, or provide enough towels. The shower handle was broken for our entire stay despite being reported, and the toilet was malfunctioning from the beginning. On June 9, the toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom and carpet. The room phone did not work, forcing me to navigate multiple automated prompts on my cell phone just to reach the front desk. Even after I clearly stated it was an emergency, it took approximately 30 minutes for anyone to respond. The staff member who arrived how many language barrier and could not communicate with me. He used Google translate, but I still do not think it helped. He did not clean the flooded area, and the toilet was never properly repaired. We had to use our bathroom towels to clean the water, and those towels were never replaced.  After multiple complaints, we were moved to another room, but the second room also had serious issues. The shower and sink did not drain, housekeeping remained inconsistent, and the room lacked amenities included in the first room despite being the same room type. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was the indoor pool, which was unusable for our entire stay. The water was extremely cold, and we were later told that the hotel turns off the pool heater and filter during the week because "there aren't many children at the hotel." When the heater was turned back on, the pool was full of sand and debris due to the filter being shut off. As a result, our children were unable to swim for six days, and we had to spend additional money to entertain them. We later learned that multiple conference attendees experienced similar issues, including room changes and housekeeping failures. This indicates a systemic problem at this property. The only gesture we received was a small fruit bowl and a few chocolates, an inadequate response considering the severity of the issues and the disruption to our stay. I did receive a message from the hotel after our stay letting me know that they did listen to my suggestions about the pool being cold and increase the temperature to 82°, but that does nothing for our experience. I wish I had taken more photos of the grossness to share so people avoid this place.

Shower: The "rain" style shower head was mounted fairly high and worked well. The manufacturer of the "Nourish" brand shampoo trumpets high-end, luxury products, but goes to great lengths to hide the ingredients; it turns out that the shampoo contains SLS, which many people find drying and rash-inducing. Security: Like most hotels, Drury Plaza is situated in a "transitional space" which invites ne'er-do-wells. The outside is ringed with good lighting and cameras. Inside, the staff is very alert. While I was at the buffet, a non-guest wandered in; it took less than 30 seconds for a manager to redirect the interloper to the door, and numerous staff members materialized and cheerfully greeted everyone in the area (presumably to make sure that everyone belonged). Food: The "Evening Kick-Back" is a full meal. They rotate between three buffet-style menus, but there are enough extras to mix-and-match a wide variety of meals. At the height of a flu outbreak, I saw a lady cough into her hand then handle half a dozen serving utensils...everyone following her picked up a nice dose of virus. First off, we attempted to check in around 3:30 and our room wasn't even ready. We were stuck waiting about 40 minutes in the lobby for our room. Secondly, the cleanliness was below average. Lastly, the service at breakfast and the 5:30 kickback was absolutely atrocious. Most of the trays of food were EMPTY. Even at the beginning of the food service. I spent over 30 minutes waiting for the milk to be refilled during breakfast. And items were cold during kickback. Most of our time in the dining area was spent waiting for refills of food. This is was so disappointing and a huge waste of time and money. I will say this Drury Inn is conveniently located near some nice shopping and food. And our room was beautifully spacious.
