    Nails by tinaaaa!
    Natsumi E.

I absolutely love Aloha Beauty Center and Tina! She does an amazing job every single time. Her attention to detail is incredible--she always thoroughly cleans up my nails before applying the gel, which makes such a difference in the final result. Her prep, application, and massage are all top-tier and so relaxing. Although the location in Kalihi isn't an area I usually spend time in, Tina's service and prices make it completely worth it for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always call ahead when I'm on my way, and she's ready for me when I arrive, which I really appreciate![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is such an underrated gem. I highly recommend Aloha Beauty Center and booking with Tina for your nails! Parking is available in the back, which is very convenient.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Tina is absolutely wonderful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had my pedicure done twice by her. Tina's work is thoroughly satisfying. She cleans the nails and cuticles with such care. She applies all necessary coats to allow nail polish to last a little over 4 weeks! By the way, the nail polish is regular polish! Thank you Tina!

This beauty center is located on Liliha St across from Times. there's a driveway to get in and out of the large parking lot in the back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called in at 5:15 and rolled up at 5:30 and was immediately tended to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Joe gave me a great pedicure and took care to not harm my cuticles. I chose a gel full set and she did a beautiful job. Definitely recommend.

$55 one hour full body massage here did not disappoint. Lady "Aung" provided a soothing but firm professional massage in relaxing and Downy smelling environment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made my appointment on their website.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of parking. I believe this used to be a First Hawaiian Bank at one time. Discovered they are a full-service salon with facials, foot massage, hair services and more. I gave a $15 tip happily. You check in at the front. The massage rooms was dark and smelled laundred. My face had the most comfortable prone lie down ever. Face padding was soft, large and was comfortable. No oil in the back or shoulder in the beginning, all heavy pressing and stretching. Then oil was used for professional massaging from the neck down to the feet. (No abdomen or chest.) Hot stone and towel to clean off the oil. Then lie on the back for arms, leg, neck and head. The head and scalp massage was another treat. I will return. Also, the price is so right! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly male owner and staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was great, they mostly spoke mandarin, good thing my friend speaks their language because it was easier for them than to speak English.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did the facial and body massage in one room, which we both enjoyed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only concerning thing was there wasn't a clear instructions on what they wanted us to do first, since it was our 1st time there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I know they were so busy today since everyone was getting a massage on Valentine's Day. Also expect a HOT stone massage, it was a surprise but it was a good surprise I wasn't expecting it lol Gave them 5 stars because you can't beat the price and enjoy the facial the most, I knock out a couple of time lol. I am so coming back to try their nail services and hair.

Look for this orange-colored building on Liliha Street
    Nadine C.

Massage in Liliha, Honolulu, Hawaii... Passing by this orange building between my mom's house and Costco Iwilei, I scouted out Aloha Beauty Center for a Girls Day Outing. The Good: -free parking lot behind the building -newly renovated interior -Grand Opening deals advertised outside -better deals advertised online -Irene and I were given small bottles of water while we waited for an hour The Bad: While waiting in the hair salon area, we noticed that someone had had a haircut. There was a small clump of hair on the floor. When I laid down on the donut-shaped face pillow, I detected a strange odor. The pillow case needs laundering. I had called for an appointment. We were told to come at 5pm. One of us was brought to a room right away. Two of us waited a while, eventually went to a room, and waited until 6pm to get checked. We were handed baskets - i thought they were for our belongings, then realized they wanted us to get undressed without a robe. No English was spoken. We weren't asked about problem areas nor strength/style of massage we wanted. I had to guess that I was to roll over. I had some kind of oil, warm towel, and hot stones. The techniques were amateur - such as: -making circular motions on my abdominal area -after working on a leg, the worker would leave it exposed, instead of covering it with the sheet -warm towel was damp and quickly turned cold because of a weak air-conditioning We were disappointed that the English-speaking owner had left before we were checking out. I really thought we were getting the Buy One, Get One Free massage as advertised online. We told her that two of us would pay $70, while I would pay $70 and return for the second massage. However, in Chinese language, one of the workers was trying to get more money out of us. Our friend, CeCe, could understand what was being said. I put some cash on the table, but the worker wanted $49.99 as advertised outside on the banner... plus tip. I added $7 cash and she seemed satisfied. I'm glad that i didn't put $70 on the table. $49.99 for one hour seemed like too much for a poor attempt at a whole body massage. I wouldn't recommend Aloha Beauty Center. CeCe was charged a "resting fee" for the time she took a nap while waiting for Irene and me to finish.

Flooded my feed... As I do frequent the area I did noticed this new biz popping up as it took awhile before I noticed the opening specials it started to flood my social feed and was actually interested especially with the "Foot Spa" buy one get one 50% off which says book online or call for appointment though there's no option to book online just a phone call that already got me skeptical. Fast foward to our appointment that Nadine scheduled us for and as I was excited for a foot massage the language barrier here is just horrible no English whatsoever and what we ended up with was a full body massage that I had to take our clothes off with the staff standing right there giggling at me was horrific and uncomfortable let along the entire massage was the worst I've ever had. There was zero pressure, almost no lotion used as I felt my skin pull almost the entire time the lights were fully on not dimmed at all as I felt so violated even as she worked on one area didn't cover me at all in areas that wasn't worked on was so uncomfortable and since when talking to their co-workers through the entire process could be relaxing....TALK TALK TALK...answers her phone (at least three times) that wasn't on silent mode...TALK TALK TALK while doing the massage entire time not knowing what they're talking about as well. We waited for an hour before we got started even with the call, no waiting room available, no chairs so we waited in the salon area where I noticed a bunch of hair that wasn't swept up nice, the hot towels the wiped on me was completely cold...I could go on forever that's not the entire experience that I wasn't happy with I just, never have I felt welcomed at all the communication here is horrible.

Fill with gel polish done by Tina

I have been on the hunt of finding a new salon in the town area for nail services. After a few months of passing by, I decided to take a chance and was not disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Customer service is very important to me. As soon as I walked in Cj greeted with positive energy and directed me to the nail area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was introduced to Tina who was very attentive with all my requested services (pedi and refill with gel polish)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Clean shop, comfy pedi chairs and overall 5 star experience. I am looking forward to developing a new relationship and trying their other services.

I noticed they had just opened not too long ago, and I'd always wanted to give them a try. I'm so glad I took the chance--it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made! For the first time, someone truly understood the vision I had for my nails, and Tina brought it to life perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The next day, I brought my sister in for a birthday treat, and not only did they provide excellent service, but they also went above and beyond by singing a surprise birthday song for her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Manager CJ and the whole team took exceptional care of us, offering top-notch service throughout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really appreciated how I didn't feel like just another customer; they made sure we received personal, attentive care.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I even tried their facial treatment, and that experience was just as fantastic. Let's not forget about pricing, it was very reasonable. Given the quality of service, I expected it to be much higher, but the prices were spot on. The place is convenient, friendly, and clean--highly recommend giving them a try!

Website lists men's haircut as $20.

I visited Aloha Beauty Center for a simple men's haircut. It's advertised as $20 on the website and their business card. The barber was professional, neat, and provided a fast haircut experience. He directed payment to be taken at the front counter. The owner at the front desk (an older, Mandarin-speaking man wearing a gray blazer) told me the haircut was actually $25 now. He mumbled something about the promotional price having ended and needing to change the website, and, "yeah you understand business, right?" [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then he turned to address his worker, and then asked me in quick succession asking, "did he tip you? You have a tip for him? You have tip for him?" with no shame[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Well, I only brought $25 in cash with me, intending to tip that extra amount for a $20 haircut. The boss man who oversees the promotions will be at fault at the end of the day, if he doesn't provide his worker with a fair share. I didn't appreciate being hounded for a tip at the payment, when their website and cards clearly advertised a more competitive price. If I understand business principle correctly, you shouldn't attempt to mislead your clients for just a few extra bucks. That is for sure how you will tarnish your company's image and lose returning customers' future revenue, just a tip...

    Plenty of nail polish choices
    Danielle S.

Went to Aloha Beauty Center today for a gel manicure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Highly recommend! TINA is my favorite nail tech. I've been seeing her for the last 3 years. She always does an excellent job.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Her attention to detail and quality is unmatched. Aloha Beauty Center is a newer salon & spa. It is conveniently located on Liliha street in kalihi with FREE PARKING in the lot right behind the building. They offer manicure & pedicure services as well as men's & women's haircuts, massage, & facial spa treatments. The staff is kind and friendly. They keep things clean and tidy inside. Looking forward to going back for my next appointment. Go check them out!

After she asked me a dozen question, she had me lay on the table and draped a thick blanket on me. I was nice and cozy the entire time. She got to work immediately putting the facial steamer on full blast. She went to work, cleansing, extracting, and moisturizing X2. I left the appointment glowing! From the first visit, it was clear that June is knowledgeable, skilled, and thoughtful in her approach. She customizes each facial and makes recommendations that truly fit your skin's needs. Appointments are relaxing (even extractions are thorough and quick), and the salon is comfortable and stylish. She also stated that if the process felt uncomfortable, I could alert her to adjust the pressure. The procedure helped to clean, exfoliate, and remove impurities from my skin. She then applied a serum of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The final application was sunscreen. While the untrained eye, probably couldn't SEE a difference after the HydraFacial, I could certainly FEEL the difference. Clean, fresh, and super rejuvenated! Before I decided to give this place a try, I pored over reviews for 6 different businesses that offer facials. I read and re-read reviews for almost two weeks. Why? Because facials are not cheap and I'm very picky about who I allow to touch my face. Based on reviews, availability, and location (it's just a 15-minute walk from my apartment), I went with MK Skin Renew. I went with the hydrafacial + microdermabrasion + LED service because it seemed like the best deal. And I was not disappointed! The salon is super clean and neat, which is something else I look for because good hygiene and clean tools are crucial. Before Kyong even took me into the treatment room, she sat me down to give me an initial consultation. She took one look at my face and was able to catch and name all of my skin concerns like some kind of derma-psychic. As soon as I laid down on the treatment bed and Kyong started the microdermabrasion, I passed out. I woke up a couple of times to the sound of my own snoring. I've always been curious about what a hydrafacial is, but I'll have to wait and find out next time since I slept through it on my first visit. After the facial, I didn't get breakouts like I sometimes do post-facial. My pores looked smaller and my skin was clearer overall. Kyong showed me the products she had used on me and recommended that I purchase them. Not only is Kyong an expert esthetician, she's a smart saleswoman. She only uses and carries Skinceutical products which I've never tried before because of the sky-high price point. She recommended 5 products for me which, if I have to estimate, would have cost me $700-800. I bought one of the products because I've been desperately trying to lighten sunspots on my face, so I'm willing to pay for it. When I got home, I did some online research and learned why Skinceutical products are so expensive (they're apparently one of the innovative pioneers at the forefront of skincare). Something else that was validating was that Kyong does not mark up the prices of her products; she sells them at the same prices as what's listed on Skinceutical's website. It's been almost a week and my face still looks and feels as fresh as it did right after the facial. I definitely plan to go back in 4-6 weeks!

He is professional, knowledgeable, caring, approachable, and has a great sense of humor that immediately puts you at ease. He takes the time to answer every question honestly and always recommends what is in your best interest rather than what will generate the biggest bill. There are never long waiting times, and his team consistently goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service and the best value possible. One thing I've learned from visiting other clinics is that attractive promotions don't always translate into quality care. Many places will impress you during your first visit, only for the experience to decline afterward--long waits, inconsistent pricing, questionable treatment amounts, and results that simply don't deliver. I've seen it all. What sets Dr. Yew apart is that he combines medical expertise with artistic talent. Having a degree doesn't automatically make someone exceptional at what they do. In aesthetics, technical knowledge is only half the equation--the other half is artistry. Dr. Yew has both. He understands balance, proportion, and natural-looking results better than anyone I've encountered. Every time I leave his office, I look refreshed, never overdone. About a week later, I catch my reflection and wonder how I managed to look five years younger. After experiencing many providers over the years, I can confidently say this: if your face matters to you, don't shop for the cheapest deal--shop for the best hands. For me, that's Dr. Yew. I'm so glad to be back. Thank you, Dr. Yew!

Service - 5 stars Ambiance- 5 stars…read more I visited Spa U'ilani last week for a Anti-Aging facial. I wanted to spend the entire day in here! As soon as you check in for your appointment, there are forms you will have to complete and while you do that, you are provided with a warm face towel and soothe the nerves and to begin your relaxation treatment. The staff member that greeted me was very warm and welcoming. You are offered a luxurious robe and slippers to wear during the entirety of your spa treatment. Prior to entering your treatment room, they ask you to wait in a beautifully curated and super cute room with a water dispenser and mixed nuts for you to enjoy while you wait. It was a whole vibe with low lighting , modern touches and such comfortable lounge chairs. Donna was the female who served me. She seemed very knowledgeable about how to better care for my skin and was thorough with each step she took. After your treatment, you have the option to take a nice, warm bath in their state of the art, delta showers and help yourself to the products in the bathroom. I can't wait to visit again :)

I had a wonderful massage experience at Uilani Spa from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. I was greeted with a refreshing hot towel for my hands and given a consent form to complete. Then I was escorted to the women's locker room with a bathrobe and slippers, where i changed and stored my belongings in a complimentary locker. Afterwards, I relaxed in a quiet, dimly lit lounge until my massage therapist, Yumiko, retrieved me. She expertly honed in on my problem areas before she began working on me. My shoulders were very tight and in pain while she worked on them. I heard my spine pop a few times. It's that moment of "Ahh..." when the pockets of tension you didn't know about are released and you wonder how much you were low grade suffering in daily life without realizing. I signed up for the lomi lomi massage, which I've never had before. I'm not sure if the hot towel treatment is part of every massage they do here but it's a nice touch that helps undo the knots. It's like Uilani thought of every little thing to help you relax beyond the massage itself. The massage cot can be adjusted to a seated position, which is how my massage ended. It's like they're easing you back into being vertical again. The experience continues: You go back to the lounge where you sip iced tea and eat a small crunchy snack before you leisurely make your way back to the locker room for a hot shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, a blow dryer, Q-tips... all provided for you. You're not rushed to pay and get out. This place is about 50% more than another place where i had a one year membership, but all the little touches they use to enhance your relaxation and enjoyment make the experience so relaxing. You didn't just get a massage, you got a full relaxing experience.

I've tried quite a few nail salons, and I keep coming back to K1 Aesthetic SPA. Their manicure and…read morepedicure aren't the cheapest or the most "luxury spa" priced but the quality makes it worth it. My nails stay strong and look great even after about 5 weeks, which says a lot about their work. The spa is always clean, the staff are welcoming, and the service feels consistent every visit. Parking is also convenient, especially during the daytime or early hours, which makes the whole experience easier. At this point, I don't feel like I need to keep searching for another nail salon this has become my go-to place. It really feels like a solid investment for long-lasting, well-done nails.

By far, the cleanest nail salon on the island I've been to…read more I reached out at 8 am via Yelp request (since no online appt) to schedule a same morning appt and Lisa was able to get me in by 10:45. There was a bit of a mix up but it worked out in the end. Pulled up to the driveway to the left of the store front. You have to pull up close to bar for them to open up automatically. There were no spaces available but an attendant came out to open up a spot coned off as I informed of an appt at K1. I walked through the lobby and made a right street side. I was the only client in. I was greeted and asked to pick a color up front. A selection of colors from natural tones to catseye and even organic for $5 more. I sat by the window where water, a phone holder, and candy treats were placed on a tray in front of me. Great comfy chair design where the sink pulls out from underneath the chair. Two ladies immediately got to work to remove my existing gel color with their power tool then buffed it out before apply this gel overlay. It was my first time getting this clear base apparently making your nail bed stronger. When I put my hand into the dry to cure it, it was a bit too hot. She adjusted it and asked me to pull my hand out if that happens again vs putting my hand all the way in. She mentioned my nail is too thin. But after my first coat of color, I didn't have any issues. She did a great job shaping my nail to a square rounded edges. There was no hand massage but not sure if it was an add on or not. However, my pedicure did come with it as I do remember selecting it during my Yelp request. She used a cheese grater to exfoliate (I am starting to think this is only available in Hawaii as other nail salons do the same). She did a thorough job with my cuticles, filing, ensuring there were multiple coats with each curing. I enjoyed my leg foot massage especially since I play so much tennis, 3 hrs the previous day, so it was a nice treat. The place was quiet and relaxing, unlike most salons I go to in Cali where it's always packed with chit chatting or nail techs speaking loudly to ea other that I can fully enjoy myself. The only usual experience was the whole time I was there, there another woman standing behind the woman doing my manicure. This woman just stood there the majority of the time just observing and didn't say anything. Not sure if she was supervising or learning. It was just....odd??? Overall, the experience was nice. Check out was easy. CJ was really helpful. Pay by Credit card or cash (no discount). I ended up paying cc and left a tip on there. If memory serves me correctly, a gel mani gel pedi with removal and organic nail polish and tax was around $157 plus a 20% tip ($31ish). Went ziplining today, the day after, and my nails held up well. Not a scratch. Would definitely come back again.
