Despite the glowing reviews and many recommendations that ABC Weddings was one of the best planning and coordination teams in Oahu- I unfortunately was left very disappointed with the lack of presence/front-end coordination on the wedding day and miscommunication. For background information, we purchased their basic package for $3000 (which is only for hotel venues). The first mishap was when I wanted to schedule an appointment to discuss additional questions I had ($120 for 1 hour). They never showed up for my appointment. I did try calling their main line and the coordinators cell phone, but it all went to voicemail. In the end, it turned out that the coordinator was moving and had a lot on her plate, so my appointment fell through the cracks. They ended up scheduling me another meeting free of charge, which I did appreciate. In October, I was really feeling the pressure, so I inquired about having my coordinator start 3 weeks earlier than planned. ABC Weddings was quick to respond and have my lead coordinator, Sammy, start earlier for a $500 fee, to which I paid. Here's where things take a turn for the disappointing. When Sammy took over point of contact (POC), I still had my vendors emailing me directly for questions/info. Also, when I asked Sammy questions about my venue (i.e. rehearsal times/location, basic questions regarding catering, etc), she wasn't sure a lot of the times, which then meant I had to ask my venue directly. This wasn't EVERY time, but it was a lot of the time, which I felt defeated the purpose of taking over POC. I also felt there wasn't closed loop communication, so I was unsure of what Sammy was doing on her side with the vendors until the very end when I asked her to CC me on her final emails with timelines so I knew what they were being told. At the rehearsal, Sammy only had 2 copies of the timeline printed, which was not enough to distribute to both our parents and our maid of honor/best man. Additionally, we also learned at the rehearsal that she was NOT going to be the person actually coordinating the day. For example, letting us know where to go and when, updating the timeline if there are any changes, etc. Per our contract, it states: "We will check in with you before the professional photographer arrives to organize the important details, check in with family members, keep the timeline moving smoothly, get you out the door on time, organize requested group photos, and overall customer service throughout the day!" The huge missing pieces for us was checking in with family members, keeping the timeline moving smoothly, and getting us out the door on time. On the day of, Sammy was already confused on a decor piece that we had discussed at previous meetings, which led to me having to re-explain to her what I wanted during my hair/makeup. She did not check-in with any of my family members/bridal party. She only had communication with my matron of honor who was running the entire timeline/day, and this was largely because my matron of honor was the one checking in with her. She did not text us to let us know when to go where, so we were completely on our own. When it came time to put on my wedding gown, Sammy was unable to zip my dress, and the entire time I was clearly upset, she did not offer any reassurance or support, but rather spent time in the living room looking lost/confused. She did call the wedding shop, per my suggestion, and they came to the venue to help put on my dress which was amazing on their part (Casablanca!). Due to the issue with the dress, our timeline got pushed back by 15-20 mins, to which she told my matron of honor to let my parents know to delay our first look. Why didn't she text them and update the timeline herself? Although it worked out, this situation was not solved nor made better by Sammy. Honestly it felt like she didn't want to be there and didn't have a lot of care for our wedding day. I did share my thoughts with Lauren (CEO) post-wedding, and she was very apologetic but explained that "Our lead coordinators focus primarily on managing logistics, vendors, and timeline flow behind the scenes so couples can remain present and enjoy their day". This is confusing because that's not what is stated in our contract nor expected from our conversations. I understand she was doing the behind the scenes, but why was the timeline piece missing? There were two coordinators on site, to which I was told the 2nd coordinator would be doing setup/vendor management, but it seems like that's not the case? Irregardless, I felt the contract was not met, and that there was not any management for us, the wedding party and family members. Sadly, I would not recommend ABC Weddings if you are purchasing the basic coordination package. It definitely seemed that because I purchased the lowest tier, we were not high priority and it did not feel like they were willing to go above and beyond for one of the most special days of our lives. read more

My husband and I were truly able to be present and enjoy celebrating with our loved ones because we felt prepared and didn't worry about any details or logistics. Jamie's calming presence made us feel like we were never rushed or behind schedule. She kept us on track the entire day and was always nearby if we needed anything at all. We had a smaller wedding party made up of just our parents and siblings, and Jamie made sure they were well taken care of--guiding them on where to go, when to be there, and keeping everything running smoothly. If you're having a wedding anytime soon, I highly recommend ABC Weddings!! they are a wonderful team with the sweetest, friendliest, most detail-oriented women who are always on top of it. We are super grateful to have had them be a big part of our big day. My husband and I booked Kualoa Ranch as our wedding venue. They require a coordinator, so I reached out to a friend who had recently gotten married and she recommended ABC Weddings because they did an awesome job on her wedding. So that is what we did! We booked the Signature Hybrid Package. We booked ABC about 1.5 years prior to our wedding day. The team was so organized and very thorough throughout the entire process! We filled out a questionnaire to give the team an idea of our vision. They provided a comprehensive Google Sheet which included a planning checklist, our budget/payment tracker, our event timeline, inventory list, seating chart & guest list, and a list of recommended vendors based on our budget. As we got closer to our wedding date, Sammy was assigned to be our lead coordinator. We communicated over emails and mostly via text message for convenience. We met with her regularly over Zoom so we could go over our sheets and discuss our timeline, layout, etc. You can trust the ABC team with the layout; they know what they're doing and the placement of vendors/stations makes sense. Sammy made sure to capture every little detail that we mentioned we wanted for our wedding. She answered all questions my husband and I had. We didn't have to wait more than a business day for a response, which we truly appreciated. We were in the middle of a Kona Low storm during the week of our wedding, and my husband and I were worried about the weather, especially on our big day. The ABC team had a solid rain plan just in case, and kept us updated quick. Very fortunately, we just had a slight drizzle the morning of and did not rain the rest of the day :') it was nice to have a good rain plan handy, thanks to the team. I consider myself a Type A person who likes to meticulously plan trips and friends' birthdays, and trust me when I say a wedding coordinator is a MUST, no matter how organized you think you are lol. There are so many little details we definitely would've missed if we didn't have one. Our wedding day turned out to be a dream come true for my husband and me. When we decided on having our wedding in Hawai'i at Turtle Bay, I initially tried to do the planning myself. I knew that I could plan because I'm a project manager at work, but I quickly realized that while the principals were the same, I didn't have the subject expertise. I started looking for a local planner for at least for day-of coordination found ABC. What I liked the most about ABC was they specialized in weddings, they had a robust website that showcased vendors they worked with and examples of weddings they had done. Some of those had been at Turtle Bay, and I looked deeper. What sold me on contacting them was their transparent pricing and service structure. I found quickly that if I had to have a meeting to understand scope of services and cost then I knew I would be digging for information during the entire process. I ended up booking Elite full-service planning. I work full time and I am in school full time and don't have the depth of experience or the ability to see things locally as this is a destination wedding for us. I'm glad I went with this option as I feel I got more value out of the planning than I thought I would, 100% worth every penny spent and more. From the start with design I knew I had contacted the right people, because I am not one of those people that have a vision for their day or colors or themes. We were able to talk very broadly about what we liked and what we wanted and ABC's planners were able to turn that lack of information from us into a vision that really connected with us. Systems wise I at first didn't understand why I had two people on our calls, but I came to understand that Jamie did planning and Mackenzie did design. I felt bad at multiple points because I had no idea others thought about some of the details in such specific ways. Jamie was able to get what was important to us out and had multiple suggestions for what we could do and how we could see the day. With ABC I was able to find vendors that I didn't know existed, such as the Vintage Aloha Photobus and the ALOHA marquee sign, they both added so much to the reception and I'm really glad we went with them. All of the vendors that were suggested to us were able to make small changes that really showed they cared with how they discussed executing the day. One thing I realized that in handing over tasks to professionals is that when you get out of their way and let them do their thing, you get amazing results. We saw that in the food, the setup, the flowers, the decor, anything that was suggested came back to us at such a high level that when we arrived in Hawai'i it was just taking care of small details and then going to the rehearsal and the big day. The rehearsal was great, and having it led by a pro like Jamie really helped to get everyone on the same page. It was nice to wrap up and then celebrate with our family and friends after. It felt great not having to worry about corralling everyone together and just showing up. Jamie gave out copies of the VIP schedule to the Best Man, Maid of Honor, and both sets of parents. It felt great to not have to worry about telling everyone what to do and when. The day of the wedding was also relaxing, even though it was very busy. There was an in depth timeline that went over where to be and when, and with who. It was nice to get ready and not be worried about where other people are and what they were doing. When it came time to the photos and the ceremony Jamie had it all handled, and when I had questions she had already thought of them and had answers. Between Jamie, Sammy, Pono, Tristyn, Kristin, Kahu Brutus, and others I had no concerns that the entire day was going to be flawless - and it was. We absolutely loved working with Aloha Bridal Connections for our day of coordination. Our team was Sammy for coordination and Jessica was there to assist on the wedding day, as well. We did not have a great experience working with our event coordinator through our venue, which to be clear has nothing to do with ABC. Sammy jumped in a month before our wedding and brought us so much peace of mind with her communication, attention to detail, professionalism, and just overall being fun to work with. She created charts with all of our vendors on them, and a very detailed schedule for when everyone would arrive and how the day would go. At this point, she took over communication with all of our vendors while cc-ing me in on everything to keep me in the loop. On the day of the rehearsal, she brought printed out copies of the wedding schedule to pass on to family members and VIPs. She ran through the ceremony with us and even walked us over to the area where first look photos would take place the next day. The wedding day was a dream. Everything went so smoothly and I truly had nothing to worry about because I knew Sammy and Jessica were there to handle everything. I really feel like both of them went above and beyond to make our day special. Sammy arrived in the morning and personally picked up all of our wedding decor to take down for the wedding. We originally found ABC through a list provided by our venue. We reached out to a few other coordinating companies, however no one felt like they were the perfect fit for James and I. We reached out to ABC and during our call with Julie, we immediately knew this was the company we wanted to work with. She gave us so much useful information and went over all the package options and was very upfront with us about costs. I, being a little bit of a control freak, wanted to do as much as possible on my own so I booked the Basic Package. With that, ABC began taking everything over around 30 days before our wedding. Sammy was our lead coordinator and she was so easy and fun to work with! It was nice during the time I was booking vendors that I always felt like I could reach out to ABC and they provided me with so many useful resources to help make the planning process so easy! In the 30 days leading up to the wedding, Sammy was super on top of everything and she had great communication with James and I. We were able to text her questions and she kept me on track to finish tasks I didn't even know had to be done. Everything went super smooth because of her! The rehearsal was also smooth and we flew a ton of stuff to Hawaii from CA for our wedding. We didn't organize it very well but we gave it to Sammy and she got it all set up perfectly for the wedding. I had a vision in my head and it was executed perfectly. I can't imagine a single thing being different. Every detail I ever mentioned to Sammy was taken note of and every table looked freaking perfect. Working with Sammy and her assistant Jessica on the wedding day was so fun and we cannot be more grateful for all the guidance they provided us! I often told all my vendors to do whatever they thought was best because they do this all the time and letting everyone take control felt like it was the best option. Sammy had great ideas and great reasoning for doing things certain ways and I didn't have to stress about a single thing in the week leading up to the wedding. When we first decided to get married on Oahu, I didn't know where to begin. I did some venue research on my own and spoke with 3 different wedding planning / coordination companies. I felt that ABC was a good option for us, as the package we chose included more than day-of support and less than full wedding planning. I thought their services were reasonably priced and offered what I needed. The support I received from ABC was invaluable. Not only did they help me narrow down their preferred vendors list to find the perfect options for us, but most vendors offered a discount for working with ABC. I haven't done the math, but I assume those discounts well offset the cost of using ABC. My venue (Lanikuhonua) was an empty plot of land, so we had to bring everything in. ABC provided me with a list of all of the rentals I would need, and created a layout for our ceremony / cocktail hour / reception spaces. I don't think I would've gotten that part right if I had done it on my own. They also built out a detailed timeline for the wedding day, which they shared with each vendor once they took over contact. Once we were assigned our day-of coordinator, Sammy, we met with her multiple times leading up to the wedding. She did a great job of answering our questions and keeping us on track with our planning checklist. On the day of our wedding, I knew we had put in the work and were prepared. I trusted Sammy and her fellow coordinators to handle everything and as expected, the day went off without a hitch. I felt little stress or anxiety about our wedding day, and just enjoyed being present throughout. I was confident that the ABC team would guide our vendors and guests as needed. Our wedding day was perfect, and while some of that was due to sheer luck/higher powers (e.g., good weather), a good part of that was thanks to ABC and our lead coordinator, Jamie Duffield. We found ABC through our venue, the Four Seasons Ko Olina, as they were on the list of recommended planners. Although we interviewed a few of those companies, we went with ABC because we liked their responsiveness, the flexibility of their packages, and the general vibe we got from our initial call with Lauren. We really wanted to be hands-on in selecting our vendors, but because we were planning our Oahu wedding from New York initially, it was difficult to know where to start. ABC provided plenty of guidance and were quick to answer any questions that we had in this earlier stage. When Jamie took over communications three months out, she had to regularly remind us that we didn't have to email vendors ourselves (one of us loves control). By the end, we were in awe at the sheer number of emails we saw her send and receive (CC'd on everything because of the aforementioned love of control) and so grateful that she was so on top of everything. We grew to quickly trust Jamie completely, not only because of her organizational and logistical prowess, but also because of her insight, advice, and demeanor, all of which are crucial during the stress of wedding planning (which we compounded with a cross-country move (do not recommend)). She never added to our stress, but instead made everything feel manageable. We'd go into a call with her feeling anxious and come out of it feeling optimistic. I had my first phone call with Lauren and she was the one that helped me choose my dream venue-Kualoa Ranch! We were recommended to ABC by our DJ vendor! We were struggling to find a wedding coordinator who knew our venue well (Paliku Gardens at Kualoa Ranch) since we live out of state. We had met with several other coordinators and they either not very engaged, insanely expensive or didn't have enough experience at our venue. We were so happy to find ABC via referral! They made us feel immediately at ease and asked all the right questions during our consult. We knew immediately they would be our coordinating team. My husband and I booked the hybrid package - I'm very Type A and had already selected most of the vendors so this package was the best for us at the time. However, now that we have gone through the wedding process I do wish we would have upgraded my plan. We got married in Hawaii, which was the location for our dream destination wedding. We were planning our wedding remotely from our home base in Washington, D.C. Therefore we looked to ABC for their local expertise, good reviews, and competitive price point. We initially got in touch with ABC founder, Lauren, and were pleased with her promptness. Lauren was fully transparent with ABC's range of wedding planning package options. This worked well for us because we were looking for a flexible business model that best met our specific needs and vision. Jamie was our lead wedding planner, and she too was very prompt in answering our questions and addressing our concerns. Our catch ups were comprehensive and ABC's use of Google Drive was great in helping everyone track the various tasks and vendor contracts. WOW - where do I even begin!? I could write a novel on how incredible the ABC team is, especially Brittany and Jamie. Our wedding was almost a disaster - it was a torrential downpour and our venue flooded, but it was still epic and amazing, all thanks to the incredible help and support we had from ABC. Brittany has been such a strong advocate for us ever since we started working with her. She was so helpful, organized, kind, calm, fun - I could go on forever!!!! Our bridal party and parents were so impressed with her when they met her at our rehearsal. If it wasn't for Brittany advocating for us, our wedding may not have even happened, or it would have happened in a ballroom, which we really did not want. Our wedding experience was far more stressful than most because of the weather, but Brittany and Jamie were somehow able to keep us calm and keep the spirits high for all of our guests and the bridal party. While some might say that this review is well overdue, I think it proves the lasting impression that Aloha Bridal Connections (ABC) had on us and our special day. Even one year later, I can honestly say that ABC was one of the best investments we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, the ABC team members made us feel at ease. We first met co-owner Natalie at a Wedding Collective event in the very early stages of planning. We also got to reconnect with her during our first consultation and deep dive call. Our interactions with Natalie left a great first impression on us. Her friendly nature made us feel cared for from the get-go and this made us feel confident in our decision to go with ABC. We opted for ABC's Basic package, which included a two-month wrap up, two-week communication take-over, rehearsal coordination, and day-of coordination services. We also added unlimited communication from the time of booking, which is not typically included in the Basic package. It was great to be able to find our own vendors while being able to ask ABC for advice at any point along the way. Something that really helped us through the planning process was the Google Sheet checklist of to-dos that ABC shared with us. It helped us consider all of the little details that needed to be addressed. When I felt lost, I scheduled a call with the team. Both Julie and Brittany helped to reassure me that we were on track. Sometimes, you just need validation that you are doing the right thing! About six weeks out, Keyah became our lead. Our check-ins gave us plenty of time to consider all of the details to make our big day run smoothly. A long over due review, my fiancé and I wanted to plan a secret and private elopement in Hawaii. Hawaii has a special place in our hearts, it's where we first started our lives together and where we got engaged, also due to the pandemic we felt it would be safer and more responsible to not have wedding guests in case Hawaii went into different tiers. In Hawaii, you must have a wedding vendor in order to book places, including beaches at times, there are many rules, trust me it's worth it to have a planner who can navigate that, also ABC was perfectly priced for our budget. Kelly was my planner, and helped me with small details I wanted for our elopement at Kualoa ranch, she had me post pictures on a shared google file, I told her the most important for me was to have our circle lei in the sand to stand in during our ceremony, and having a traditional Kahu to marry us. They handled everything from my bouquet, circle lei and even scheduled hair and makeup to show up to my room to get me ready! Kelly waited for me at the venue and even made sure our ceremony was private on the beach when a couple of beach goers almost walked near us. Stop reading these reviews and go with ABC for your wedding coordinator. Their team will have your back no matter what comes up on your wedding day and it will be an absolute dream. My husband and I got married at Lanikuhonua in April 2024. The venue required that we have a coordinator and after interviewing a couple of groups, it was ABC's Signature Hybrid Coordination Service which includes a getting started call (discuss timeline, budget, vendor recommendations), point-of-contact takeover for your vendors 3 months out, and day-of coordination among other things. That 3 month mark is when we really started to stress out so knowing our coordinator was triple checking everything and had done this a million times was all the assurance we needed. My husband and I are both born and raised from Hawaii but live in NYC. Our coordinator, Jamie, not only assuaged our crazy, particular personalities but I would even go so far to say she thrived on it. She would regularly respond to my 10 AM EST / 4 AM HST text messages, provide me input when asked for, and follow my lead when I requested. Aloha Bridal Connections was honestly the best investment for my wedding. I can't thank the team enough for their time and work in getting my wedding together. Everyone that I encountered were so kind, understanding and not pushy at all. I did the signature package with an addition of the rental overview + layout creation. Starting out - responses were not immediate because our wedding was not priority so totally understandable but they answered my emails in a timely matter. I highly recommend the additional rental overview for couples who live outside of Hawaii. This literally saved my sanity because there was SO much to include when it comes to rental. Many, I didn't even realize I needed so this was a great add on!! Their organization is superb. You will be on a shared google doc of everything needed for the wedding. I always have this up when I'm on a meeting call with them so I can see everything we are talking about and this is super helpful. Mackenzie was our lead coordinator. Omg, she is such a gem and I feel so blessed she was assigned to us!! She always made sure I was never a bother when I had a million questions. So patient and so attentive, the sweetest gal honestly! Day of wedding she was calm and organized. I didn't even know if there was a problem at the wedding because she handled everything sooooo smoothly. Emma took care of us towards the end of the night and was a doll as well. She made sure everything we brought was packed and ready to go. They were not only tremendously helpful in planning but they had a variety of connections that helped us when we were planning from a distance. They were very flexible to work with and understanding of our vision. Once we arrived in HI we met with Julie and walked through everything to ensure that the wedding went smoothly. ABC Weddings was recommended to us by our wedding venue and honestly we couldn't of done it without them. We ended up just getting the basic package and worked with Sammy quite a bit in the weeks leading up to our wedding. We were a month out, not prepared, and had a lot of things to finalize, but Sammy was the one who got us to this finish line. Sammy is great!! Extremely organized and super helpful, she helped me secure some very last minute vendors and was able to organize the transportation logistics we had, which were a lot, and everything went so smoothly, it was perfect. We heard so many great things from all our guests about Sammy and the rest of the staff who were there supporting us, they were working non-stop all day to ensure everything was in order. If you are looking to have your destination wedding in Hawaii, look no further... ABC is THE best for planning and coordinating your wedding, hands down!!! From the beginning of planning your wedding all the way to the actual ceremony, ABC was there for us every step of the way and they are WORTH EVERY PENNY!! My husband and I are from California and we wanted someone to help us with the wedding coordination. We also had NO idea where to even start when it came to coordinating a wedding. ABC did an excellent job of giving us spreadsheets, checklists, vendor lists, expense tracker, Google Drive folders, and everything we needed to stay on top of our wedding planning! Our coordinator Brittany Wright was INCREDIBLE and was so professional and friendly throughout the process. Mind you, I can be a Type A, OCD person when it comes to planning events (especially my own wedding LOL), but Brittany was so kind, understanding, and professional the whole way through. She responded to my emails and texts very quickly and also was available for 15 minute calls here and there if I had additional questions. The BEST part is that about 10 days out from the actual wedding day, ABC and Brittany completely took over the planning and served as the main point of contact between all the vendors. I cannot tell you how WORTH IT this was!!!! By the time the wedding actually happened, I was shocked that literally EVERYTHING happened flawlessly. I was stunned because so many of my friends and family told me things like, "You won't have time to eat" or "Something always goes wrong at a wedding." Shockingly... NOTHING WENT WRONG. We were ON-POINT with the timeline. We were punctual. Nothing was off schedule. Brittany even gave us an ENTIRE HOUR for me and my husband to eat our lunch (we had a day wedding), without interruption. Brittany even told the VENDORS to take breaks!!!! It's clear to me how much Brittany and ABC actually cares about the people they work with -- vendors, bride/groom, family, EVERYONE! On the day of the wedding, we also had help from Jamie who helped check in on me and my husband frequently throughout the day to make sure we had everything we needed. Jamie and Brittany were able to save us appetizers, entrees, and desserts before they were all eaten up LOL!! They are THE BEST!! I felt almost guilty for having a literally FLAWLESS wedding lol!!
