Ray, the owner, is especially patient with newer divers and has a great way of making every dive feel fun while still prioritizing safety. The entire crew is professional, welcoming, and easygoing. It honestly feels like you're diving with a group of friends--but with the confidence that you're in very capable hands. Highly recommend!

Whereas other shops wanted to charge me for a full on course, Captain Maddie set me up with her dive-master sister, Ashley. Ashley did a refresher on our way out then made sure I had a great, safe experience for my first time back in the water, taking me on two shallow reef dives. We saw so many turtles, eels, a shark and several octopuses (Ashley has an incredible eye for spotting them). I had such a great time I booked another dive. This time, noting my comfort level, Ashley took me on two deeper wreck dives. They were spectacular. I'm so grateful I found Ruckus, Maddie and Ashley. There are a ton of options for diving on Oahu and I really lucked out choosing them. The personal focus the sisters gave me both times was above and beyond. I can't wait to come back to Hawaii and go diving with them again and again.

My wife coordinated this outing for my family in honor of my birthday, and it didn't disappoint…read more Our boat with 6 people caught 30 amberjack and skipjack fish. Parking is available near the boat for a pay by hour cost using one of two apps. Their timeline for return was accurate, and we even got to a point of being out where we had enough and were ready to return a little early. Bathrooms are available in a nearby building with key from the boat, or on the boat itself. A majority of the people on the boat took motion sickness medicine prior to the trip to avoid any issue. It was consistent waves the whole trip with no stopping so be prepared. The boat has a covered area with table and seats, along with air conditioning and fans. We brought some snacks and a cooler with drinks and food that we put out on the table for all to consume as desired. The crew put the lines in the water for the large fish which we didn't catch any of. Apparently the reel spins when a fish is on the line and you jump on it to reel it in. I've never been sport fishing to know the feeling of reeling one in or seeing one reeled in. After some time waiting for something to hit and everyone getting tired, they put the smaller poles in the water and allowed people to hold them trolling. This is how we caught the fish we did catch that ranged in size from probably 12-20". They put up a little fight and we lost a few along the way that could've been much larger but we'll never know. Upon return, a neighbor boat gave us a 25 lb fish they caught since the crew was cleaning our catch. I don't eat fish but my wife is very happy with what we brought home. The crew was very helpful in trying to provide a pleasurable experience by helping with the poles, advising, and cleaning fish to take home. Overall a great experience and we would likely return hoping to catch something larger.

Bob was honest from the start and let us know he wouldn't take us out if the weather didn't get any better. Thankfully the weather cleared up for the day and we were able to make it out. Avoid This Tour - Unprofessional and Poorly Managed I had a…read morevery disappointing experience with this fishing tour and would strongly advise others to avoid it. First, the check-in address provided in the confirmation email was outdated. I followed the instructions, took an Uber to the listed location, and only discovered it was wrong after calling the company. I then had to take another Uber to their actual location to make it on time. This kind of logistical error is unacceptable and shows a lack of basic communication. When I finally arrived, I was told I needed to pay an additional $2 due to some law. That would've been fine -- if it had been mentioned anywhere in the confirmation email. Worse, they only accepted cash, or required a minimum $10 purchase to use a card. I didn't have cash on me, and when I asked if I could Venmo, the front desk staff rudely repeated that it was "cash only." When I asked where in the email this was mentioned, he falsely claimed it was included -- but when I showed him the email and asked him to point it out, he avoided the question and repeated the same line. There was no apology, just a cold attitude. In the end, other kind tourists helped us out of the situation -- not the staff. As for the tour itself: the instruction was minimal. When I asked how I would know if there was a bite, I was simply told, "You'll know it," with no further explanation. My fishing spot was poorly placed -- right in the middle of one side of the boat -- and with the wind, my line kept getting blown underneath. I kept recasting, but it didn't help. Eventually, a staff member tried fishing from the same spot and caught nothing either. Clearly, this was a bad spot for fishing in those conditions, but they assigned it anyway. Overall, this tour was disorganized, poorly managed, and left a very bad impression. Save your money and book a tour with a more professional, courteous company.

First, when I was scheduling this fishing trip, they told us that we would be able to keep some of the fish that we caught, they told me that they would offer a discount once we got there and they gave us the location to meet . We showed up at the meeting location and my family along with three other families were waiting. We called the company and found out that they changed the meeting spot. So we had to walk 30 minutes to the next location which, they said if we didn't make it in time they were going to leave without us, they told us that it was catch and release, and they would no longer offer us a discount. Once we were on the boat there were about 22 people and maybe seven fish were caught, the workers were all fishing instead of trying to help us catch fish. I was very disappointed.

I've been dropping by every time we're back on the islands for over 20 years, and it's still the first stop off the plane. I will say though, service can be a little rough sometimes. Some days are good, some days not so much. But honestly, that's never been the point of this place. You're not coming here for some polished haole sales pitch of some sort, you're coming because these guys know what they're doing and they'll get you what you need so you can get back in the water. And that's where they really shine. Need a j tube? They've got it. Need a new band? They can fab it up in like 5 minutes so you can still make it to the spot on time. They almost always have exactly what I need in stock and at a fair price. You'll see some of the best divers in the islands and honestly, some of the best in the world just casually stopping in. The shirts and designs are also totally underrated. They've got their own local style and I've of course picked up a few over the years and they hold up good. Hanapa'a is one of those rare functional places you can always rely on. it's rooted in the community, and it delivers when it counts. If you dive, you already know. If you don't, this is where you start. Just don't be a Karen and you'll be good.

Located in the same area as the Honolulu Screamer and other charter fishing boats, Its the name of a boat that offers "bottom fishing tours". What exactly is a bottom fishing tour???? You are taken for a 20-minute boat ride past Kewalo Basin, and taken to a few spots to do some bottom fishing (no trolling) for a couple of hours with beautiful views of Diamond Head and the rest of Oahu's South Shore. There are two bottom fishing tours you can choose from for $63 (Kama'aina Rate $42): Daytime Tour: 11:30am-3:30pm Sunset Tour: 4:30pm-9:00pm All bottom fishing tours include: Site Seeing,(Scenic Views, Possible Dolphin/Whale Sightings) Quick style kau kau of Rice,Beans, Hot Dog, and Hamburger,: Rod, Bait, and Tackle,Transportation to and from your hotel, and the best part? Cook your catch! Yes, as long as it's legal size(7 inches or more) edible, and not a protected species, they will clean it and cook it up for all to enjoy! Having been on both tours, one's not necesarily better than the other, because fish WILL be caught....(some may be luckier than others...) Daytime: Beautiful weather and conditions, we caught Moana, Weke, Nabeta, and Uku and we were fortunate enough to see a school of dolphins which was COOL! Sunset: Beautiful weather and conditions, we caught, Nabeta, Yellow Lipped Triggerfish, Lai, Akule, and Ta'ape...one of the staff members even reeled in a huge Garfish which he was gonna use for bait later that night for a Shark Hunt. SHARK HUNT!?!?! Yes, for all you adrenaline junkies, there is a Midnight Shark Hunt (Catch and Release) that is also offered for $125(inquire about Kama'aina Rate) from 9:30pm-1am. They even offer private charters (1/2 day $525, full day $825) where you and your buddies can go catch the BIG fish. (Mahi, Marlin, Ahi, etc.) Here are some helpful pro tips: -Sashimi 2 can take up to 50 people, but no less than 8 -Wear weather appropriate attire(Jacket, umbrella, flip flops, shoes, etc. according to weather conditions) -There are bathrooms on board, and you can fish anywhere around the boat, but cannot climb up top -You can bring food, snacks, soft drinks, etc. ( they have a cooler for that, and also offer fruit punch and water) -Bring binoculars/cameras for cool sites and kodak moments(beautiful sunset too!) -Take something for motion sickness if you can possibly get seasick...no refunds, and 2 of the 8 in our bunch were miserable... With all of that being said...... IT'S A GREAT IDEA FOR A UYE!!!!.....ALOHA!!!!
