Oahu Cemetary assisted me through each step of the process in this difficult time. Being that it is an emotional process our coordinator Sherie worked very hard to help in the process as we faced a simple but troubling issue. Despite this Sherie kept in touch and through this we were able to complete the process and retrieve his remains. The urn that I purchased from them was a beautiful Hawaiian Koa box that now holds the remains of both my Mom and Dad together. My Mom passed away back in 2020 during the lockdown and we were unable to do anything for her but handle her cremation. Now with the passing of my Dad, he and my Mom can be together as they were before 2020. They were married for 43 years and finally together again not just in heaven but as their remains sit together in this beautiful urn that was also beautifully engraved. Mahalo Sherie and Oahu Cemetary for helping in closing this final chapter in our family.

There was a lack of communication, both internally and with me. They called the day after her death to ask for information they already had. I had gone in prior to her death to give them all that information. The woman who called hadn't bothered looking for the form before she called. I posted an unflattering review yesterday out of frustration after being told everyone was gone for the weekend and there was no way to find out my mother's status until Monday, three days away. I had been told she would be cremated yesterday. But no phone call, no communication at all. It has been difficult to reach anyone. I had to call several times to find out they were waiting for a signature from the hospice doctor. If I had known that's what they were waiting for, I would have called hospice sooner. Miki Ho called me this morning and addressed my concerns in a very compassionate way. Hopefully my mother will be cremated Monday, thirteen days after she was taken to the mortuary. Hopefully he will address the issues that are leading to me spending another weekend with my mother still in the freezer at the mortuary.

I had told Ballard, that I would be taking care of my stepfather's arrangements and any payments. I told them to not contact my mother because she was grieving so the least I could do is take this off her mind. Mom was also stepfather's caretaker and was there with him when he passed. So she wasn't exactly in a state to deal with funeral arrangements. They ended up calling my mother and asking for payment when it wasn't near the agreed upon dates. I felt that this was very insensitive. Another thing was that I had payed with cash and sent my boyfriend to drop it off. While he was there they counted the money wrong, had to recount, counted the money wrong again, and had 2 people double check the amount of cash. Now, I understand that everyone has those days, but after I specifically told them not to bother my mother... I couldn't help not to be irritated. But overall, the cremation was seamless and end product was satisfactory.

They helped plan my wife's funeral, and from the very beginning, they were attentively caring, deeply accommodating, and treated us just like family. No matter what questions I had, they always got back to me right away with answers. Ah Sen, in particular, always made sure I had the information I needed ASAP and truly went above and beyond to honor my wife. He even went completely out of his way to sing a beautiful song for her from our favorite movie--a gesture that touched our hearts deeply and that we will never forget. When it came to the logistics, they were phenomenal. They even helped arrange a police escort for us. On the day of the burial, even though they didn't have transportation available, they still managed to coordinate everything seamlessly so that the burial went smoothly. Ah Sen and Malia deserve the highest recognition for everything they do. Their compassion, professionalism, and dedication made a world of difference for my family. Highly recommend them.

From our very first interaction, he assisted us and treated us with utmost respect and care during the service for my sister-in-law. What truly sets Ah Sen apart is how deeply he cares about the families he serves. During the funeral, he gave us a moment we will never forget by performing Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "What a Wonderful World." It was an absolutely stunning, heartfelt tribute that brought so much comfort and peace to everyone in attendance. It takes a special person to bring that level of talent and personal dedication to their work. If you are looking for someone who is not only highly professional but also deeply personable and compassionate, I cannot recommend Ah Sen and the team enough. Thank you for making a challenging day a beautiful celebration of life.

Hosoi did a wonderful job making sure everything was as she wished and easy to work with, absolutely organized, efficient, and very sympathetic. Dad passed a couple months ago and we were lucky to work with Ricki, who was so wonderful because there was an additional step to Dad's plan as he was a retired Air Force Lt Col so his final wish was to be interred at Punchbowl with full military honors. Ricki kindly helped with all of the plans, setting the date with Punchbowl and working with USAF to ensure dad received his honors. Ricki's been doing this a while so he has it down-pat and makes good suggestions, answers all our questions patiently, and just made us feel like family. Like he treated us how he would treat his own during this overwhelming time. He answered all our emails promptly and even called when he needed to discuss a more sensitive matter. During the grieving time your mind doesn't work as it should- or at least mine doesn't - it was a comfort to work with Ricki and the rest of the kind ladies in the office who remained professional but caring with each interaction we had. There are ample benched seating for the guests during the service both in and out.. Inside is nice, comfortable and air conditioned. Podium and microphone are present. You can show a video on the screen as part of your program. You can select your clergy person along with who does the eulogy or remembrances of your dearly departed. After the service it's customary to provide refreshments or a meal to your guests in their outside dining hall.
