During my appointment, the PT told me he had to speak with the TENS machine representative and left me alone on the table for 20 minutes. He returned, moved my leg a few times, and said I was finished. My second appointment was on January 30th. The PT told me to ride the bike, but he didn't help me get on or advise me on how fast or slow to pedal. After I got off the bike, he performed the same exercises I was already doing at home, as prescribed by my knee surgeon. There were 30 minutes remaining in my appointment when he put on his jacket and told me he was leaving. He instructed the aide to guide me through exercises on the laptop. I inquired about the aid's education, and she stated she had an undergraduate degree in Health, but no PT certificates or degrees. It is illegal in HI to leave a patient with an unqualified aid without a PT present. I canceled all my future appointments with Moon PT and requested a refund of my co-payment. Moon PT is a very unprofessional and uncaring facility. I question the qualifications of the PTs and aids. The PT I saw was very impersonal and unprofessional. My knee surgeon recommended a different PT facility, but I chose Moon PT because it was close to my home, and I wanted to support a new business. This was my mistake. I had major knee replacement surgery and was treated very poorly at Moon PT. I will never recommend Moon PT to anyone.

For unparalleled 24/7 care, beautiful and spacious suites, a positive and nurturing birth…read moreexperience, forget all the other hospitals and register here!! I wish i had better words to describe what an amazing experience it was to have my baby at [Adventist Health] Castle's Vera Zilber Birth Center. First off, though not the most important factor, the facility is *stunning*. With the ko'olau mountains as the backdrop, lush greenery all around, a bed for your labor coach, lots of free parking for friends and family, a jacuzzi tub to labor in, delicious food- what more could you ask for? Oh, right... amazing staff and care. Well, guess what? You get that ten-fold here. At 4am on a rainy day in October 2018 at 39 weeks pregnant, my water broke and hubby and I rushed to the hospital. We'd packed our bags ahead of time and we were already registered there so very little paperwork was needed. They checked us in and ushered us to the triage room where they confirmed that my water broke and measured how dilated I was. They informed my doctor immediately and took us to our huge suite where we could get settled and comfortable. I knew the baby's head was turned a bit weird because i was laboring in my back more and so it took 9 hours of labor and *3 hours* of pushing to get my 8lb baby out! They offered me different laboring options with a bar to get baby to come down more and the wonderful jacuzzi tub to sit in with jets. I requested to do a natural, unmedicated birth and was supported the whole way through. Dr. Chapman is one of *the top* OBGYNs in the country and I was privileged enough to have her be the one to deliver my baby (and sew me up - ouch!). She really is one of the most knowledgeable and respected doctors out there. The staff is absolutely incredible. Hands down the BEST. They took the time to get to know me and offered tailored care for me, my baby and my husband. They were so attentive and respectful. Every time there was a shift change, the nurses updated the chart but READ mine beforehand and obviously spoke to the other nurses to learn my situation and what i needed. I was always greeted with a smile. The day charge nurse would introduce me to the night nurse and they always made sure that i knew who they were, what they were doing, what me and my baby needed, they helped me with my lactation issues, arranged for a lactation consultant to further assist me, made sure my husband and i were comfortable, etc. To put it simply, I wasn't a room number. I was their patient. They really cared for us and gave us the one-on-one attention that we needed. They encouraged baby-friendly tactics to enrich our bond as a family, as new parents. They gave and taught us tools that were invaluable for when we brought our baby home. I can't express enough how wonderful everyone was. We were so blessed to have our baby here and be cared for by each and every staff member. A very special thank you to the following staff members and nurses who just really shined (whose names I can remember): Melody, Candace, Ashley, Grace, Malia, Carolyn, Tamy, Leah and Regina. For a caring and VIP birth experience, choose Vera Zilber. ***Note: Each suite has a jacuzzi tub, bed for your labor coach and a fridge for your snacks and drinks. If you like, you can bring your own pillows for extra comfort. They do not provide meals for your labor coach/significant other but there is an amazing cafeteria in the hospital called the bistro. Honestly, hubby and I just shared the food they gave me because it was so much anyway and we had our snacks and a baby to keep us busy .

I have given birth at Castle twice and both times were the best experiences. From the moment you enter til the moment you leave everything feels stress free and you're treated with the best hospitality in a hospital IMO. I love that you don't have to park far in the parking structure and your car is like 30 feet from the front door. The rooms are the biggest of all the birthing centers on Oahu (and the most comfortable). I have given birth at Queens with my first born and after being spoiled at Castle I will never give birth anywhere else but at Castle. I just can't stress how amazing nurse Marilyn was though and how I felt like she was my family member getting me through birth! I hope she sees this & I can't thank her enough for being the epitome of what a nurse should be to a patient.

They were very attentive and caring, yet professional. The home itself was warm and welcoming with a beautiful backyard set-up for visitors to enjoy. While it may not be the most modern home, it is filled with the most important thing...love and compassion. Even though there was a constant flow of family and friends who came to say their final good-byes to my sister, at no time did the staff make us feel like we were intrusive or disruptive. Their care of my sister during her last days and especially after she passed, were phenomenal. They gave us the space and time to grieve, all the while assuring us that they were there if we needed them. My hope and prayer is that no family will ever have to utilize a hospice care, but if they did, I highly recommend Navian Hawaii. My family and I are extremely grateful for the loving care given to my sister.

The backyard of the hospice house has a small garden area, a patio, and a swimming pool. The home has four nurses rotating 24/7, a housekeeper, and a cook. All staff members work for Hospice Hawaii. The bedrooms are divided into two residential rooms and three respite rooms. The residential rooms are for patients who needs long term care by the nurses. The respite rooms are for patients who are staying for five nights for free (got to give the caregivers a break). After the fifth night it is $100 a day. Each bedroom consist of a hospital bed, a recliner, small dresser, and television. Emergency oxygen tanks are available in each room in case the electric goes out. There are few portable oxygen machines for the patient to use in the family room or the bedroom. Two of the bathrooms are reserved for the patients while the third bathroom is for staff members and visitors. The patient bathroom is equipped with handicap railings near the toilet and the shower. There are commode toilets available for patients who are unable to use the bathroom. The living room is more like a little lobby area with a beverage station for guests, sign in log for visitors and volunteers, as well as a round two seater table. The family room has a couch, a recliner, small table, and a entertainment shelf with books, DVDs, and a television. My pops stayed at the Hospice Hawaii Kailua house for five nights. Hospice Hawaii made transportation available through ABC Transportation with a pickup in Waianae and drop off in Kailua. He arrived there on Tuesday August 29, 2017. After his five nights stay in Kailua then he got transported back to Waianae from Alii Transportation. The nurses that I have met personally like Rolyn and Yvonne are very friendly and outgoing. They joked around with my pops while he was in Kailua. My pops has his own opinions about the other nurses whom I did not meet. Guests are able to visit their loved ones as long as the noise is down. The nursing home is a peaceful environment so the other patients are able to relax and sleep when needed. There was a big difference in weather for my pops to experience. Waianae tends to be hot. Kailua was raining on Tuesday (8/29/2017) while all other days was cooler and comfortable weather. Family members are able to call their loved ones who are staying at the hospice house. Phone calls need to be limited and the nurses normally answers the phone. A loved one may refuse the call especially if he/she is too tired to talk. 52/100

The Nurse call button system... hmm...Imagine needing a brief change but pressing the nurse call…read morebutton only works half the time? Mom's button is like that. I once taped the cable into the wall plug to provide a possibly better connection. A few days later I saw that my tape was removed. Fire hazard was their excuse. So it went back to working only 50% of the time. Now think about having to sleep in your own pee or BM because you can't get in touch with the "available" evening shift nurses to give you a change... The evening nurses even keep mom awake sometimes, because of their loud laughing and talking. She says it sounds like they're having a party or something. That makes it hard/impossible to get some sleep. Then Mom and I had an argument about going to their "morning exercise" to at least try to get some movement/exercise of her legs, feet, arms & hands. Not being self-motivated about doing it, we both got angry, then upset at each other ... During this argument, I left rather than escalating the situation. That made mom upset and sad. In pops SANDI from Ann Pearl's social services department. She was so anxious about hearing mom's story about what happened. SANDI was even more excited to alert mom's POA (her "daughter" who lives in Florida). In hindsight, Mom even admits she was an extremely bad choice to serve as POA. SANDI just made things worse. Now Mom's "daughter" has extra "ammunition" to use against me in court after mom passes. Rather than an even 50/50 split of mom's will, I'm being taken to court in an effort to acquire my 50% share, leaving me with nothing. This is the person who makes no effort to help or visit, and is waiting for that final day. But she's POA, while I'm walking there twice a day to visit mom and keep her spirits up. Thanks SANDI. So remember folks, don't consider this place as a potential retirement facility. Undependable nurses and dangerous social services to provide help. Crappy physical fitness and little to no effort in trying to rehabilitate the patients... I really hope my review really makes you forget about this place. Never mind about 1 Star... a ZERO STAR rating should be allowed... especially for places like this.

He had been through so many adversities, but always made it through like a trooper. Thanks to prayers, he has always got better and came home after rehabilitation. Just this time, he's weaker, older and probably can't be as independent as previous years. My dad was here several years ago for rehabilitation and felt comfortable here. I was so relieved he was here again at this facility. Sometimes beds were not available at the facility of your choice when leaving the hospital. It's an older 104 bed skilled nursing facility, but has a more of a homely feel. The workers and residents were really caring which was helpful for my dad in getting acclimated to a new home away from home. It was a convenient place for us, since it was closer to home with many free available parking. We were so grateful for in-person visits or window visits during the Covid Pandemic. Visitations were so important for our love ones to be able to see their families. Anyone would rather be at home with their love ones, but he knew my mom can't take care of him anymore especially if he can't walk much and he needs the help of a facility. He had no complaints but sometimes he felt like burden. The facility does their own laundry so it helped from having your clothing article lost. You can also take home the laundry and do it yourself. My dad always looked forward to his meals and they seemed to offer many variety of ethnic foods. I appreciate all the staff help, my dad's friendship with residents, activities like bingos, programs, karaoke & more. Good thing he loves to color pictures. Coloring has been keeping my dad going with a purpose. He seemed to be in good health and at the end of the 2021, thank you to Ann Pearl's staff for all you do for all your residents especially during this Covid pandemic! This is my 200th review on the last day of year 2021, I wanted to do a 5-star review on a business that I was grateful for and I chose Ann Pearl Rehab & Nursing! Thank you Ann Pearl! Thanks for reading my review! =)
