We have booked with Aloha one other time before,and tried others to compare. We called Aloha and asked if there were any pontoon boats available and was told that there were,and that we could come over whenever it was convenient for us. Once we filled out the waivers with the young lady behind the desk,we were asked by this very polite young man where are cooler and other things were. We told him that they were at the top of the stairs,and he didn't hesitate a minute,and ran up there and got everything. Our boat was spotless,and we then got a mini lesson on where everything was. We left the dock,and everything was beautiful. We had a great experience,and highly recommend to anyone that wants to have a pleasant experience. Called the number as i was walking up to the counter and watched the young man send me to voicemail so he could continue playing on his phone. Was a little surprised that my bill total jumped $25. What an amazing experience. The boat was first rate and the staff took care of our every need, a cart for our bags-cooler-snacks, map and directions to all the fun places on the waterway. We have rented many pontoons over the past decade or so. I have never come to place that had nicer pontoon boats than this group. They had great service and we really enjoyed the experience. We did feel that due to being the week of July 4th, there was some price gauging involved for $100 per hour ($400 for 4 hours is a bit much compared to the competition in the area), however, they were getting that easily because most everyone was booked up. We've used Aloha Pontoon Rentals twice now to head out to Crab Island. Once on a less busy weekend and recently for Labor Day Weekend which is supes cray. Both times, their prices have been great and don't feel inflated by the holiday weekend. We easily rented less than a week out, but I'd say plan a week or so out to get a booking. They're quick to get you signed in and situated. The first time we used their boats, they seemed brand new and are just really nice, space-wise. I think they say up to 10 can fit on a boat, but I like a solid 4/5 folks so you have room to boogie. There were four of us, and we also had a little kayak if we wanted to paddle around too. The second time we headed out for Labor Day Weekend, we realized most of the speakers had been blown (end of the season, totally understand). We called and went back in, and they quickly got our gear onto another boat with better speakers. I would say if this is something that's important to you (i.e. pretending like you're in Will Smith's "Miami" video, blasting tunes, and shaking your booty), maybe just test them out before you head out. They were cool with adding time to our reservation so we really appreciated their effort to make the situation right. Nbd. For folks looking to rent a pontoon, especially during the busier weekends, some unrelated business tips: 1 - Have someone that's experienced in driving a boat, or hire a chauffeur so you can enjoy your bevvies. The coast guard is out there checking things out and boat traffic can get a little hairy on a holiday weekend. 2 - If you do a late day reservation, you might not get a primo spot at Crab Island, and there is a bit of a current on the outer edge. I almost had to say RIP to my ring floatie, though my man saved it. p.s. don't risk your life for a ring floatie, folks. 3 - Bring food with you, lots of sunscreen, and plenty of water. Or bring cash to buy from the bar and vendors on the Island. It gets hot out there, and while beer is great, you're gonna need those other things too. 4 - Though their boat sound system (I believe) is Bluetooth, bring an aux cord for better connectivity and make an epic playlist. My and I have been coming to Destin for years and have rented pontoon boats throughout the years to go to crab island. We tried Aloha this and WILL NOT be going back. The young staff was incredibly rude from the beginning, to which I don't understand why. My family and I are avid boater on the Mississippi River. So navigating a pontoon boat less than a half mile to crab island is no problem. We were given a run down, beat up pontoon boat (which wasn't a problem), but when we came back to the marina one of the staff (Tyler I believe-thin and blonde) suggested that we put a dent on the side of the boat that was already there. He continued to be condescending calling members of my family "brother man" while insisting we put the dent in the already beat up pontoon boat. It seemed as if he didn't care what what we had to say, he was out to prove some point that we had done something wrong on to the boat. When leaving we said we wouldn't using them again with their rude service, and the staff (Tyler) started laughing and telling other staff how we wouldn't be using them. They began laughing about the whole thing and didn't seem to care that they would be losing our business. Completely unprofessional. DO NOT use. We will be going back to Luther's next year. read more
