Good: 1. Even though the receptionist was on vacation for 2 weeks, a gentleman got back to me immediately. 2. And he said that they could ship my CPAP once forms were filled out etc. since I don't have a car. 5 STARS ***** But ... Not so Good: 1 They said that the forms would be emailed. They were not. Then I began getting calls from Rotech, apparently their parent company (?) asking why I hadn't returned the paperwork. As of today, several weeks later, I still don't have the email. I did a search of all my emails and there was nothing from Rotech or Aloha Respiratory Services. 2. Rotech is EST, so they were closed when I tried to contact them. Not exactly a local business, and rather inconvenient since the hours there are middle of the night and early morning here. 3. I attempted to call Aloha Respiratory, in Honolulu, at 1:30pm and they were closed. They list their hours as 9 - 12, and 1 - 4. They need to update them. Provide you with completely different pricing for the same equipment. I wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with them. My doctor faxed them twice with my order and got successful transmission confirmation. Nonetheless, they claimed they never received them. We have been going to Aloha Respiratory Services for years and have always had good service despite having to wait in the past to see someone. Today, however, we walked in twenty minutes early and Brad Bransford greeted us as soon as we entered the door. He asked us what we needed and led us to an office where he verified my husband's name and identity before showing us his new C-PAP machine with all the updated features. He also showed us a new face mask that is much more comfortable than the old one that made a sore across the bridge of my husband's face because it is so hard. Brad was personable and professional, witty and warm. We felt comfortable with him as if he was a friend we had known for a long time. He showed us how to use the new machine and gave us patient and thorough instructions on what to look for and how to tell if the machine was working correctly. After Brad finished setting my husband up with the C-PAP, he turned us over to Mele who efficiently got the paperwork in order and gave us contact information for the mainland office located in the state we are moving to. Two of the office girls are named Mele, and both of them are very friendly. The Mele who helped us was thorough and made sure we understood what to expect in the future. Overall, today's experience with Aloha Respiratory Services was the best experience ever. We thank Brad and his staff for doing a great job and making our time there enjoyable while ensuring we had everything we needed for a successful experience with the new C-PAP machine. read more

My husband received his initial CPAP from them. There were not issues with that. When we needed to reorder supplies we have had to go through their affiliated business, Rotech. When my husband first reordered supplies, they put him on a subscription without him knowing. We received multiple very expensive bills and received supplies he did not need. It was extremely difficult for him to get the subscription cancelled. Eventually, he did need new supplies so we attempted to order again. It was again difficult to reorder the supplies. However, we eventually were able to order and receive our supplies. We received a bill for over $300 for the supplies though. We paid the bill, but continued to receive notices that we had an outstanding balance. I called Rotech and was directed to a call center. After speaking to multiple individuals, including someone at Aloha Respiratory Services who could not help me with billing, I was directed back to the call center. The individual who I spoke to attempted to get my account information. I refused. Then they were able to find out that the check had been applied to another account even though I didn't provide them with any information other than the amount. When I asked for a ticket number I was told he didn't generate one. When I asked for his name, he told me it was Mike Miller, despite a very thick accent and obvious background noise to indicate I was speaking to someone at a call center. It was all very suspicious and I don't think a business who operates with a company who has questionable billing practices should be trusted either. read more

It really sucks sometimes living on an island because are hands are tied with one really crappy DME company. Aloha Respiratory is the only pediatric respiratory company in the state of Hawaii. My son has a trach and needs supplies regularly. When we first got with the company it was amazing! We would get full orders of supplies, a text any supply shortages or updates, and really good service. That whole team left and since then the company has been going down hill fast. Whenever I call for a POC no one calls me back. The first time I tried to get a POC I was told I'd get a phone call and never did. I never got any information as to what the next steps were and when it was time for our vacation we didn't have anything and they told me I had to go look for one!! Recently I called for a POC was told I'd get a call back from someone who could help me in 20 min. But 30 min went by and no call so I had to call them. We went 3 rounds of this before I actually got to speak with them! We never get our full orders of supplies we are always missing something! When the bivona trachs were recalled we didn't get any notice or update as to what happened. I went 3 quarters without a new trach and couldn't get a back order! When they are out of something we are never notified we have to inquire why we don't have what we need. They are supposed to be suppling medical children with respiratory supplies and are not capable of doing it. I've been working with two people directly with the company and they are very sweet. What they need to improve this problem is more RT's to help fill orders and communicate with customers. They don't need people with no experience, people who can't answer questions relating to supplies and just answer phones. They need people who know respiratory supplies so when you call it's not all on one person to answer questions and get back to you! When you talk to the manager they can't even answer my questions! This company needs RTs or a better training system to improve and be better. I've never written a review before. But after 4 years, something needs to change. read more

My experience was totally positive with getting my equipment, explanations for use, etc. My only recommendation for the office, is that they do not allow smoking in their offices, or employees who smoke to enter, after smoking outside, with out waiting in the fresh air for at least 5 minutes after finishing. The main reception area and all the offices reek of cigarettes- If had smelled fresh, I would have said something- but this is years of smell in all the rugs, drapes, walls ,etc- I am allergic to cigarette smoke, and my sinuses reacted for over an hour after leaving my appointment.......the whole place needs a wash-down cleaning and repainting, etc, to rid of this. You are doing such a great job- why spoil it - this is a health oriented shop. read more

It broke in our checked in luggage on the airplane. It was broken beyond repair. We called Kaiser (California) & called Apria, both did NOTHING for us. They could care less that he was not going to have his Cpap for the week. And we are double covered insurance with both of them. Aloha Respiratory did not hesitate. I got CPAP supplies from Aloha Respiratory, owned by Rotech. Katie at Aloha told me she VERIFIED that my insurance was covering everything that was being sent home with me. Then I got a bill from Rotech, and Rotech said it was because the supplies Katie sent home with me were not covered by insurance. I told Rotech to give me a full accounting of what was covered and what was not covered. Then Julie B at Rotech was too lazy to give me an itemized bill and said "We are transferring this bill to Aloha Respiratory" so Aloha would deal with it. What a horrible company. Whenever you try to phone Aloha, all calls are intercepted by Rotech in Florida, and Rotech is disgustingly unhelpful. What a pair of ripoff companies. Absolutely the worst! They will harass you constantly to buy unneeded supplies months before your Dr advises you to get them. This is horrible! Rotech the parent company is far worse! Then there is Sleep Central a part of the scheme to soak you for as much money as they possibly can. Also an Airsense 10 CPAP can be bought for $900, they will bill your insurance or you $2,000! Theivery! My Dr got so angry when I asked him about these problems. He said "Everyone hates them but they are the only ones you can get supplies from unless you go on the internet and buy them without insurance". Only positive note is the customer service people are super nice and apologetic...they only work there they are not the evil managers. read more

I was in need of CPAP supplies and started the process in Oct 2022. After several followup phone calls I was able to finalize the process 4 months later and get an order placed in late Jan 2023. The staff at ARS was friendly but VERY POOR in following up with customers both telephonically and through email. It was frustrating for me but due to limited suppliers, I had to be persistent. So mom is about at 86 years old and her primary care physician recommended that she get a walker. CR Newton was at the top of the list but unfortunately nobody in town handles Medicare claims. Aloha Respiratory Services is the closest place to town that would handle a Medicare insurance claim. Medicare typically pays 80 percent and you or your secondary insurance pays the difference. Liz at Aloha Respiratory Services contacted the doctors office, got all necessary paperwork and insurance forms filled out. I went down the next day to pick up moms walker without any problem and didn't pay a penny. Aloha Respiratory Services is far, definitely out of town in the Halawa industrial area but there is ample parking just drive all the way to the back of the lot. Terrible customer service. It took multiple calls to this business to get them to process my order. When more info was needed from the MD, they dropped the ball and left it up to me to hunt down the paperwork. It has taken almost 2 months to get my CPAP replaced and i would still not have it unless I called repeatedly and insisted that they get their act together. Diana, the RT was the saving grace here. She intervened and made it happen. When I arrived for my appointment they still did not have my order straight and lots of huffing and puffing ensued among the staff. SHAMEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GENERAL CARE FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS I have had the worst experience with this company that is associated with a company in the mid-west. First, they lose and drop appointments for customers needing to be outfitted with medical equipment. They roll out constant excuses, always blaming your doctor's office and always act like they're the innocent trying to help us pitiful patients in need of THEIR service. Today, I called the local store in Honolulu, which has posted hours from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. I am sent to an "After Hours" answering service in the midwest who justified the reason the calls were sent to the "after hours' was because it was 7:30 PM in the midwest. EXCUSE ME! What does that have to do with Hawai'i Standard Time. Locally, the Aloha Respiratory Service hours in Honolulu is from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Operator says, you can leave a message or call back during regular business hours. I said, I am calling at regular business hours. Operator says, it must not be because they switched to "After Hours Call" and your options are to leave a message or call back! I asked the operator if there was anyone that cared about the kind of Customer Service they are lacking that I could speak to? Operator says it is after hours and no one is available; further, she said she is not the person to have this discussion with and wants to know which of the only 2 options she has given me. I asked her if she was a robot? She said, Excuse me? I hung up. AWEFUL, AWFUL EXPERIENCE. GOING BACK I completed sleep test on August 1, was given an appointment on September 1 with Aloha Respiratory to be outfitted with appropriate C-Pap Equipment, Aloha Respiratory called to reschedule me to a September 14th appointment due to scheduling conflict. Arrived on September 14th and receptionist said I did not have any appointment. After insisting a double check be done they reported they had tried to call me and my doctor's office to reschedule because of a discrepancy in the prescription. I've been making follow up calls for updates and have been told they were waiting for my doctor to call back. I called my doctor's office who said they have called and left message repeatedly and are waiting for Aloha Respiratory to call back. NOW GO BACK UP TO THE TOP. We have waited for over a month for our respiratory device to be delivered for a family member with lung issues. After losing complete patience because of a lack of communication, I am here in their "waiting room" trying to pick up the device. My husband called and they said to come by after 11, and everything will be ready. It is 11:15. So far, I have waited for 10 minutes because no paperwork has been printed out. When I got my CPAP machine a few years ago, I was instructed to pick up my device from Aloha Respiratory Services in Halawa. Since then, I have never had a pleasant encounter whenever I have the displeasure of dealing with them. Every time I call, I either don't get through to anyone or the staff is rude, unable to answer my question, or a combination of both. I finally gave up calling ... now I have my GF call because ever single time I get off the phone with them, I'm upset for the rest of my day. Terrible, terrible customer service!!Going down to their facility in Halawa is not much better. The place is located upstairs in a warehouse. When you enter their "office", there is usually no one there to greet you. You're basically left standing there thinking "am I in the right place?" When you finally manage to find someone to help you, you instantly get the feeling that you're bothering them and then you immediately regret wasting your time driving down there. The facilities have a very messy and unorganized look to it. I truly wonder how they seem to have the monopoly on distributing CPAP devices/supplies on Oahu. I am definitely going to look into finding somewhere else to get my supplies from. This is one of those times when I really wish Yelp allowed you to give a negative star review. Was a little confusing finding the business in Halawa but found parking and went right upstairs. After a short wait, Katie brought me in to go over the equipment and answer all of my questions. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I left with my new equipment and all the information I needed to start my CPAP treatment. The process was fast, with no problems with my insurance. Husband was told to come here for his CPAP supplies. Worker smoking right by oxygen tanks. Wrong sized mask. In fact after it dug into his face so bad, they decided he must need the nose piece. Then wrong size nose piece, even after husband told them it was too big. No one told him how to use it, so no one told him he needed a chin strap. Best one ... worker smoking right by all the oxygen tanks! SERIOUSLY?! Now I'm dealing with that stupid company and billing section that sends the supplies. Billing us for wrong sized pieces?! I am so excited!! I did a sleep test at Queen's West Sleep Center ( wayyyy better then the town location. Like your own cozy hotel room) last Friday. Fast forward a week and my doctor called Aloha Respiratory Services to see if they could help with providing a CPap machine since I live in Ewa Beach and I didn't want to travel to Kailua as my other option and Aloha Respiratory is by the airport on my way home. Doctor spoke with Rick and he welcomed me to drive over so we could work on the insurance papers/requirements. OMG all I can say is the ladies at the desks were kind and immediately greeted me then Rick is such a wealth of knowledge ( it was so interesting to me!!! From the best position to sleep to going over my sleep result numbers and with patience). He also mentioned that the company revamped their staff and the staff is a great team. So any negative reviews may have been prior to the new crew. I was able to get all set-up and Rick did the pre-sets for the machine and showed me how to work certain parts of the machine too. I highly suggest you do your business here because a friend of mine who has a machine said he only knew of the Kailua location but NOW...there is a place in town.
