My experience at Pharmacare has been wonderful!! I had to get a total of 12 infusions once a week. From day one, nurse staff was kind, welcoming, and comforting, especially my main nurse Mel!! I appreciated being greeted with kindness and a smile during a very stressful medical care situation. Mel and the other nurses on staff worked well together, helped eachother out when it was full in the infusion seats, and always answered all of my questions and would message the pharmacist for me about if certain meds or supplements might interact. Mel gave me lots of encouragement and a listening ear when she had downtime during my infusion. Mel doesn't make it feel like you're coming in for a medical treatment, it feels like I'm just taking an hour break to relax. She even offered me jolly ranchers at my first visit because the meds I was getting made a bitter taste! She is so kind, professional and thoughtful! I never had any infection or issues at the site of infusion so they are very efficient and clean. I am very grateful to have gotten my infusions done at Pharmacare and if I ever needed more treatment I would hope that Mel is still there to be my nurse again!! read more

This review is based on Pharmacare Specialty Pharmacy services. A family member was started on a special injectable medication that needed to be given monthly. The physician set up their service through Pharmacare Specialty Pharmacy, and the medicine is delivered to us once a month. It does require refrigeration, so delivery has to be scheduled. Initially, the service started out OK, other than the inconvenience of having to call them every month to have the medication delivered. I tried to see if there was a more convenient way to do it online, but this is not possible. Every month I would call them and speak to a live person and have the medication set up to be delivered. I always have to have it scheduled on a day when I know somebody is home to receive the medication. More recently it has been getting challenging to get the medication delivered in a timely manner. After calling them to get the medication delivered, I was informed that it would be delivered on a specific day, Wednesday. The medication was not delivered on Wednesday, then I was told it would be delivered on Thursday, but still no delivery. Then I was told the medication was not in stock, that somebody would call me on Friday, however, nobody did so I called them and left a message. No return phone call, so on Monday I called again. I was given several excuses, but the medication still was not delivered until the end of the week the next week. We finally received the delivery nine days after the medication dose was due to be given. Really unacceptable. I'm not sure why they can't keep the medication in stock, or why it can't be delivered in a timely fashion since it's given the same day every month, and Pharmacare is aware of that. When I spoke to them about how the medication was delivered so late, the woman on the phone was very apologetic and promised me that she would put me on their calendar to follow up so the medication would be delivered on time the next month. Well here we are. I'm holding my breath to see if it will be delivered on time this month. read more

Pharmacare has been giving my family the run around since October 2024. My daughter's dietician started the process to order a medical formula through Pharmacare. After not hearing back from them for months, thinking Pharmacare was getting preauthorization from HMSA, I made the call to them to find out they only sent in a preauthorization to HMSA January 2025! In the middle of January, our dietician said HMSA approved the preauthorization. Great! But now, mid-February 2025, our dietician informed us that Pharmacare said they couldn't do it anymore and we were urged to call to ask Pharmacare what happened as our dietician had been calling and no one would call her back. Gave them a call, and they said "we don't stock that so we won't order it." You could have said that October 2024, why bother with a preauthorization in January 2025?? This is a joke of a company. If you have to deal with them, good luck to you. read more

Friendly staff with prompt professional service. I use them for a prescription refill and supplies that comes once a month. Delivery drivers are great and so is the office. There is a lot of quality of life stuff that goes above and beyond. Prompt preparation of supplies for pickup pretty much right after I called, friendly delivery drivers and they have people calling in to check up on refills when the prescriptions starting to run out. They'll also work quickly to correct any mistakes they've made. There's aloha spirit here. I got a taste of a different mainland based pharmacy which was a clueless nightmare and am so glad I got to continue on with Pharmacare instead. read more

After my discharge from the hospital I was prescribed eight weeks of daily IV antibiotics. I opted to administer this myself at home instead of staying at a skilled nursing facility or going to an infusion center every day. My doctor had locally-owned Pharmacare take care of everything. An RN from the company visited me in the hospital and patiently showed me how to do everything step-by-step. When I got home Pharmacare made weekly deliveries of all supplies. The person who took my weekly order on he phone made sure that they had my order correct and doublechecked to make sure that I did not need anything else. There is a nurse available 24/7 to call if you have any questions (I had to call them twice and both times received excellent service). Deliveries are made to my front door reliably and with a smile. Everyone that I encountered at Pharmacare is professional, well-trained, and knowledgeable. Our lives are in their hands and they take their responsibilities very seriously. I have heard through the grapevine that Pharmacare's main competitor is not locally-owned and does not provide the same high level of service. read more

I've been receiving infusion treatments through Pharmacare and the staff have been nothing but awesome! I'm so glad that I chose to go with Pharmacare and not the other facilities that I was able to choose from. They call before an appt, follow up after the appointment and they make you feel welcomed and not an inconvenience to their day!! Pharmacare at Straub is a joke. They are so unfriendly and not helpful. Especially Amber who knew that I had to catch my handivan. The Filipino guy said they would do their best to rush it. Not good enough, after coming from ER, I left without my meds. She said that it was ready a few seconds after I left. Not good enough. I was without my meds until the next day and had to make a trip to Longs. At least Longs is nice and helpful. Although Pharmacare is right at Straub, I will go out of my way to Longs. Straub should handle their own pharmacy like Queen's. I don't like Pharmacare!!! read more

Some of best IV nurses. From what I understamd they actually provide inservices for other nursing agencies. Friendly and kind staff who come outside to guide you to park in a reserved spot so to not get ticketed and they bring out a wheelchair. I understand they have lots of other patients on this island and the outer islands and I am grateful that they even deliver medications to my home. Better than staying in the hospital. read more

They don't answer their phone in a timely manner and keep transferring you. They leave a message on your phone to call back for assessment and try to get you to pay over the phone. read more

So far, so good. I've needed some urgent deliveries they were able to make happen. They also changed out feeding pumps that had issues twice fairly quickly. When your loved one is completely dependent on their tube supplies, formula, and meds, you have no choice but to be demanding about the level of service you get. read more

All the staff are professional, informative and courteous. They make your experience pleasant and take time to answer questions. One of the infusion service reps went out of her way to rush an evening delivery so I wouldn't miss my dose. She was a godsend and only in Hawaii can you find people who go above and beyond to extend aloha! read more

So I'm super annoyed that I had to come out of my way to pick up this prescription here to take to my doctors (long story) and that I'll have to sit in worse traffic but I thought I would write a review while I wait. Did I mention I'm not really sure why anyone would have to come here but the workers were very friendly in this frustrating situation. Overall was fairly easy to find. It's in this huge building by the airport and behind Big Kahunas. Apparently there is a Times in the building that I didn't know about. Only downfall is this place is hot! 3/25/21 spoke to Marie (pharmacist) about my new prescription and my expected co-payment. Being retired on fixed income I was stressed about the huge cost as it's a specialty drug. But she was so nice and told me about foundations that can help with the co-payment. She enrolled me on line on her computer while talking to me to get necessary info.. and just like that I got APPROVED! So the foundation will pay ALL my co-payments and I was so relieved that half of my Social security pmt didn't have to pay for this new prescription! The main thing I want to say is Marie was the only one who went the extra mile for me as not even HMSA or other Pharmacare branches told me about how foundations can help with co payments! Despite how busy she was.. instead of just referring me to the site.. she actually did all the work for me! She is such a kind, compassionate person with lots of empathy. Should be more pharmacists like her! Really a true asset for Pharmacare Specialty! Heartfelt Thank you Marie! I would give you a million stars but 5 stars are max on yelp! Very bad experience! When you have special need baby you have already enough sadness and hard work on your side. But if you deal with Pharmacare things will get worst. They will provide you with equipment with alarm go on all night long every few min for no reason. You will suffer for months through and then find out "oh ya they know it's bad equipment and they can replace with different brand"! but why you provide me with bad quality pump in first place? Right, it's just business. Then they refused to provide formula we want use for our baby for months!!! Negotiating better deal with insurance) Then your baby finally no need equipment, only few plastic extensions but no, Pharmacare want make more money over your baby with special needs. They don't care to provide you with life needed NoT expensive parts, they want charge as much is your insurance can cover, or not interested to provide for your baby at all. Pharmacare has been awesome from the very first time I got medication from them. They delivered with no problem, had a great nurse teach me to use the injector n bring my medication. The next month, they delivered with no problem. They are all so very nice and accommodating too. I really love Pharmacare! They even got me in a program where I don't have to pay for 6 months then $10 thereafter. read more
