Got into the car and pulled out the most measly looking price of backbone I'd every seen I've heard stories of this happening to tourists but didn't expect it to happen to me I went back in and laid it on the counter and said, excuse me, I asked for a drumstick, not a backbone, and they apologized while the ladies in the back watched and they were laughing. My girlfriend that has lived on the island for the last 20 years, apologized for them and said that she should've gone in with me. When I ran in, I was pale & feverish and as I mentioned, crying. I asked the woman if I could use the restroom, and she said, "Sorry, we don't have one." Meanwhile, the door to the restroom was open and though it said "employees only" I thought she might let me in. I explained how sick I was, that I was on my honeymoon and didn't want to vomit in front of my already rather disgusted husband, and she said again, "Sorry, we don't have one" even as I pointed and pleaded... Instead, I held it as long as I could and vomited in their parking lot. In front of Pete. And a few people filling up on gas. Sorry folks! I had nothing to clean this up with and again returned to her, crying. After this, the nice woman who had refused to let me vomit in privacy, told me about a free public restroom just up the road behind the Kamehameha statue. I went there to clean up. I thought that was very sweet or her and felt bad that I got so sick here. So if you need a restroom, don't count on using one here, but there is a free one just up the road! Just follow 270 till you see the Kamehameha statue, and park right behind it near the community center and police office.
