Terrible customer service. Ignores customers while the female cashier chats on the phone

Super convenient location adjacent to the King's Shops right off the highway, we filled up here before returning our rental car at the airport. The price was pretty decent for Hawaii, but seriously the location gives this place 5 stars. read more

This Shell station located right outside of the King's shops has been here for as long as I can remember and sadly it's the only convenient location by the Waikoloa shopping area. Gas here on the island is much more expensive than the mainland, more expensive on the Kona side and even more expensive in this little shopping area. That being said, it's convenient and not commonly busy and I typically like to fill our rental before the next day's trek around the island. Cards are accepted but right now they only have 1 type of gas but all 4 pumps are working. read more

The strangest gas fill experience I have had. We arrived 10 minutes before the cashier opened. I tried to pump gas on arrival with a credit card. The pump accepted the card, but it would not pump any fuel. I had to wait for the attendant to flip a switch to allow fueling. If they won't allow the pump to dispense fuel when closed then why do they allow the pump to accept and approve credit cards? I won't go back to this location early morning ever again. read more

Bad service, horrible customer service! Credit card reader at pump wasn't working. The gas attendant Got mad because I had to pay at the window instead of the pump and he had to stand up to help me. After I told him if he was okay? because he was giving me attitude he goes off yelling and tells me to get gas somewhere else. Only gas station for miles good thing I had enough gas to make it to the next. Never give my money to bad service. read more

This station has you as a captive. On 10/5 I paid $5.82 for regular. My next fill up was just off of hwy 19 on the way to Costco at a Hele station where regular was $4.84 for regular. When on the big island it pays to shop around. For convenience sake I will top off the tank tonight at the Shell before heading to the airport early tomorrow morning. read more

Ha- what's not to like it's a four pump, gas only drive up in the Kings Shops. You aren't going to be chums with the attendant you are getting gasoline. Here is why it's five stars: it's the last stop to fill up your rental car headed to the airport. read more

The cheapest place to buy gasoline on the Big Island is Costco, and when we were there by as much as 60-70 cents a gallon. This Shell is part of the larger Hilton Waikoloa complex, which I found higher priced than the average non-resort Shell station. The key factor was that we were near empty and were heading towards the saddle road, where there would be no services for miles. That's still a lot cheaper than a tow, even under a AAA membership. read more

We were there at 10:50 the lights were turned off while we were in the bay. Almost out of gas, hope that they will be open at 6 when they're supposed to be. Hope I don't run out of gas on the highway tomorrow. 50cents more a gallon for terrible service, no aloha here read more

The only gas station within miles. Also the only gas station from the resorts in this area to the airport. You got to pay up to fuel up here. Not recommended but you have no choice. read more

Around 8pm my girlfriend, who luckily was in a separate car, realized her gas tank was almost empty. We see a huge sign at the gas station that's says WE'RE OPEN, lights all on, cashier in the booth, etc. So we go to the pump and the machine reads our card and we go through all the options and receive 4 cents worth of gas. The cashier comes out from his booth, but not to help us get some gas to make it home, he comes out to us and starts yelling at us. 'The pumps turned off already! The machine isn't going to read your card!' Shocked and confused to why this cashier couldn't just calmly tell us the gas station was closed when we first arrived, instead of watching us for 5+ minutes trying to pump gas, then coming out and being a complete a**hole to me and my girlfriend for absolutely no reason. I never said a single word to this man before he confronted us with his terrible attitude. I kindly explained our situation, that we needed to drive back to Hilo and all the other gas stations nearby were closed. He continued to yell at us 'It doesn't matter the gas station is closed!' I asked for his name and recommended he have a great rest of his night. As a result of this we had to leave my girlfriends car over 100 miles away from our home, in a parking lot. Thank you so much, 'J.R Domingo' and Shell Gas Station for the incredible hospitality on Fathers Day. I will be sure to never return. read more

This gas station is located among many busy resorts and a couple of shopping centers. It's a busy spot. Yesterday, the gas pump wasn't working and the girl working there let everyone in line know. I can't tell how long the wait would've been. Since we still had gas, we left. This place definitely has a captive audience if you really need gas. read more

Convenient last stop for gas on the way to the airport from North/South Kohala or Waikoloa. As others said, it is cheaper at Costco. If you have an early flight you can take a trip to Kona and fill up at Costco the day before you leave, then on your last day you can top off your tank here on the way back to the rental car drop off. read more

This gas station is nestled in a beautiful location. We pulled in here in great need of gas for a trip up to the mountain. This was perhaps the most expensive gas in all 50 States. It must have some mysterious island god mix that makes it worth more than gold. Just because you can gouge customers and make money doesn't make it right. If you are considering visiting this place resist. I would rather run out and take a donkey to the top of the mountain instead of making these greedy owners richer. The worst Shell I have been to throughout the US. They have a captive audience. It is overpriced and charge for air after filling up. Unfortunately, my rental car had the warning of low tire pressure. I would recommend going to Costco before returning your rental. read more
