After my original review about being sold a "custom" set that turned out to be badly fitted with mismatched shafts, I honestly planned to move on--especially if the shop would just pick up the phone and try to make it right. I called. More than once. No call back. No email. Nothing. If they had contacted me, I would have gladly updated--or even removed--my original review and said they stood behind their work. Instead, here we are, and things got worse. When I went to sell the clubs, the buyer pointed out: Two 50° wedges in the set (one graphite shaft, one steel). Why? What I thought was a 45° wedge is the exact same loft as my pitching wedge. So yes--I was sold two pitching wedges as well. Add that to the already mismatched shafts and bad fitting, and this "custom set" is a mess. And still: no response from the shop after multiple attempts to reach them. --- Lessons? Also a bust. I sent my wife here for an 8-week lesson package. When we finally played together, I immediately noticed her grip was way off. I asked her about it--she said, "We never talked about grip. He just kept telling me to swing." Grip is Golf 101. After eight weeks? Come on. When we addressed it in person, the instructor finally said, "Let's take a look at your grip," like it was new information. My wife also told me he was flirtatious, pushy, and that on more than one session he smelled like liquor. She was uncomfortable. We stopped going. --- Bottom line: I gave them a chance. They didn't take it. This follow-up exists because they never tried to fix the problem. Between the botched club build, zero follow-through, and questionable instruction, I can't recommend this place for fittings or lessons. Buyer beware.

But for the value, it's definitely worth it. My daughter got new skis and boots last season and the staff were very helpful. There is a buy back program that gives you discounts on the next set, which I haven't used but will likely have to this season.

So I remember she told me that she was able to find some here at half price. so I stopped, went inside to see if that had some. When I walked in, there was no one in the main room. I'll grab a cart and start looking around. Another person came in behind me and the cashier come in the back room and said hey how are you doing to him... Then another person... Same greeting. Not sure why I was not greeted, but I am here for cheap bread not to be made to feel special or a valued customer lol. It was pretty obvious the other two people were regulars as she started conversing with them. I went up to the counter and she asked if I was ready. I told her I was. With the lousy snow conditions, and all the ice we had, the wax was almost gone. I had a great powder day at Kirkwood and I could tell it was riding a little slow. I stopped in to see if they could do a quick wax for me since I was heading out again in a couple of days. I was able to get a level 1 wax on the spot and was out the door in less than five minutes. I am happy to give my support to a local shop that takes care of their clientele.

It is really great to see people doing great things for the community. This organization works to…read moreraise money by repairing and selling bikes. They also give bikes to children through local agencies and businesses. I've purchased a few bikes from them in the past and been quite happy. The staff are friendly. Their is a noticeable difference in knowledge between the trainers and the trainees. What I noticed this trip was that a lot of the bikes seemed overpriced. For instance, there was a used bike for $120 that I could buy new at Walmart for $140 (plus tax). I don't know what changed but it didn't feel like a good deal to buy a bike there any longer. Perhaps the Bike Swap is a good option.
