On a recent trip to Reno, I stopped in as I was looking for preowned club to replace another club in my bag. As with the theme for most Golf Mart stores I've been in, I was ignored from the moment I walked in. Is it me? I wandered the store for the area of the store where they kept their used clubs. I think I found it, but it wasn't anything like the Golf Mart in my hometown...extremely small and not many options (definitely not what I was looking for). Maybe if someone offered to help, instead of standing around talking amongst themselves, I may have been directed to a different location of the store. I was in the market for new irons but was ignored the moment I walk in the door. I stood back by the hitting bays to demo some clubs but no one acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. I had been standing there for at least 10 mins and felt invisible. Two employees finished with their customer in the front of the store, then they helped two new customers that had come in after me. I went in with $500 CASH to buy a new golf bag. Looked around for almost 30 minutes. Four "sales" people just standing around the counter shooting the shit! Not ONCE was I greeted or asked if I needed help finding something. No problem. I left with $500 cash in my wallet. Found another place who were more than happy to help: Golf NV. They got my money. Stores like Golf Mart are the reason why people DON'T shop local and buy online. I know a lot of fellow golfers. I'll be sure to have them do business elsewhere. Previously had good experiences here. As of lately my feelings have changed. Store has a good selection of golf products but I don't recommend bringing your clubs here for any kind of work (regrip, shaft work, etc). Had a couple clubs worked on and now they are headed back to the warranty dept to be fixed properly. *4/6/23 - Wrote the review above sometime last week and now I have to update it. Flew down to SoCal to visit family and golf. After my round today, I noticed my driver shaft that I brought to Golf Mart to have a tip put on it is now coming apart. I originally brought the shaft to the store with a tip I had lying around that I guess had no ferrule so instead of calling me and asking if I wanted to pay for a new tip with a new ferrule to be put on, some terrible looking ferrule was put on so then that had to be pulled and I paid for a new tip. I had asked for the shaft to be cut when I originally brought it in the first time and that didn't happen. Its pretty frustrating having to drive back and fourth to the store to have things done right. When I return from my trip, Ill be dropping in to have this fixed. Despite some questionable reviews, I went to Golf Mart to be fitted for some irons. I'm very tall, so standard lengths never work. I did not have an appt., but a fitter saw me right away. He spent some time asking about my game and explained what all the numbers meant on the swing analyzer thing. I tried quite a few different sets of clubs and narrowed it down to 2. I was leaning towards a the more expensive set, and the fitter pointed out that according to the data, I was actually hitting the less expensive set better! The fitter was very patient and there was no rush at all. No hard sell!! They said it would be 3-5 weeks to get my clubs, but it was less than 2 weeks and I'm OBSESSED with them!! I had not included a 5 iron in the set, but after hitting the new clubs I went back and ordered the 5 iron! Haha... sometimes it really is the wand and not the wizard! read more

I had the best experience at Golfmart. I am new to golf and was looking to purchase a set of clubs. Shae assisted me and she was great. What I appreciated most about her is that she didn't try to sell me an expensive set of clubs, but instead put me into a beginner set that was just right for me. She also helped me find shoes, balls, tees, and a glove. They have a really wide selection of products. Best of all Golfmart has a 90-day guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase they will replace it or give you full store credit. No questions asked. Dicks, Golf Envy, or Scheels don't do that. Plus, they take trade-ins, sell used clubs, change grips, modify shafts, and repair your clubs. They do it all! Golfmart will be my go-to Golf store from now on. read more

Went in and got fitted for a driver, the guy that helped me was very very helpful (Aaron I think) He explained to me what all the numbers meant on the simulator and gave me a variety of shafts within my swing speed range ( low 90's) to try. I went in there with a specific driver in mind, he let me hit two other ones one he recommended and another driver I was thinking about. Didn't try to hard sell me and was very patient let me take my time, when it was all said and done, I probably hit the equivalent to a large bucket of range balls and was dead tired by the time I bought my new driver! Also every other time I've been in here the staff has always been friendly. One time I brought a putter in there to be regripped. I did not buy the grip there and they did it for free! read more

I hate this place!!! I am a local and I was around when it was golf headquarters. This chain took over, and had treated the past employees terrible. I went in there after I accidentally left a wedge on the green of my local municipal course on the 18th hole. It was dark. And wouldn't you know it know one has turned it in. Lame. So headed down there and Brian helped my find the right club for me. I'm newer to golf again after not playing for twenty years. So he dialed me in with the distance and range machine thing they've got. Another gentleman came over to check in and make some adjustments. Found the club I needed and had a really good experience. The club was very affordable and in excellent used condition. I got a Ping Glide love wedge and a Callaway Jaws Gap wedge as well. Oh and they have free used driver covers by the door. Lol. Went down here yesterday to buy new irons. Walked in, there was about 6 employees working, I was in the iron section for more then 20 minutes and not once did anyone come over and ask if I needed any help. So on to GOLF NV for me. I never thought I would be able to get my first set of fitted clubs till I was in my thirties, however Riley and Steve (old guy with the mustache) are in all honesty truly amazing and experts of their craft. I cannot put in words how fun and entertaining the process was of finding clubs, get fitted and then find an outfit for the wife. They worked with me and helped me make an educated decision and I'm 100% going back for any and all golf needs for myself or the wife. read more

I finally got a new driver last fall. The manager was an expert in helping me pick out what I needed. He was patient and full of the information that I needed to make the right choice. My husband and I have had the same set of irons for over 20 years and they were working fine so we never felt the need to replace them. I got a new set of Ping G 425's for Mother's Day and they made such an improvement in my game that my husband started thinking of getting a new set for himself. Back to Don we went and he ended up getting a set og Ping G 430's. But then we need a new fairway woods to match the shiny new irons! Again, Dawn was super helpful and let us try different ones so that we can choose the ones we hit the best. I have a recommend the store as they have so many brands and products available. read more

I was in need of a driver since mine was behaving badly. I stopped by and the staff was extremely helpful and seemed to understand the game. I got fit to a new Callaway and so far I've loved it. It was great when the salesman helped me figure out which combination was best for me. I seem to have been playing with the wrong specs this whole time. I would highly recommend and I'll be stopping by when I'm ready to get a new putter. read more

I have a few bad experiences here in the past, and from the reviews here I see some have as well. However last week I went in with my Bushnell range finder to see if it was still under warranty. The sales guys had Don who is the manager help me. So took the time to contact Bushnell to see if they would cover and then within 24 hours Don called me to let me know come in and pick up my new range finder. I was very happy that he took the time to take care of this. Hoping the rest of the staff will learn from this. read more

Drove over from Carson City to Golf Mart in Reno on a Monday to a sign that said due to staffing shortages we will not be open till this afternoon. However, the sign did not state what time in the afternoon or was there any recorded message when you call the store stating anything about the hours. If this is the way they're going to run this business it won't last long. In just the time we sat in the parking lot and this was at 11:45 AM there were four different people that walked up to the door only to find out it was closed read more
