Stumbled across this shop when I was mindlessly wandering the streets exploring what Kailua-kona has to offer. Cathleen was super friendly and supports other local businesses as well so it's not just toe rings that are there lol. I bought this gorgeous bracelet that she hand-made and a toe ring that she made sure was a perfect fit, and I appreciated that she showed me several designs and options to choose from without being pushy. The great thing is that she ships anywhere within the US so if I decide I want to purchase the rose gold rings I also loved or any other toe rings for that matter she would be able to do that as she gave me her business card with my size info on it. Great little shop. Came in a few months ago and the lady, Rande was very pleasant. She took her time and had me try on a few different toe rings. She "promised " me that the ring wouldn't come off. She even told me that she's been wearing the same toe rings for years with them never coming off. Great!!! Sold!!! Fast forward 1 week when I get back to the states. I was given this beaded toe ring I wear all the time and it's still as beautiful as the day I got it at Aloha Toe Rings. What a great way to celebrate a trip to Kona! Cathleen and her staff were extremely informative and friendly, and I can say this based on experience: I came by this shop several times during our weeklong stay, trying on multiple rings, buying some, and even returning to get a different size - all within the course of a few days! I spent more time and money at this little shop than I'd like to admit, but the toe rings are of good quality and are made of sterling silver and real gold. Unlike some reviewers, I've had no issues with breakage, and I've taken them off multiple times (always use Windex!). I also wear them constantly; in the water, in boots - pretty much 24/7. My guy even ended up getting a stack called "King Kamehameha" (of course, right?). He loves it and hasn't taken them off since our trip in April. If you're visiting the Big Island, and want a unique piece of jewelry that will garner multiple inquires and compliments back on the Mainland, definitely stop in and say hi to Cathleen for me! She'll take care of you and you'll walk out with a gorgeous toe ring (or 8, in my case). read more

I have yet to meet someone as rude as the owner of this store! I had a great experience with one of the staff people and returned with a friend expecting the same service. The owner explained that she had just opened and appeared to be annoyed that we had the gaul to shop so early...(10:15 am) She then proceeded to tell us that our positive experience was "in the past" and made sure to tell us that the sales person (who was very capable) was not her co-worker but her employee" She pointed out that since I had made a previous purchase I was clearly knowledgeable enough to help my friend thru the process. Needless to say we left (without a toe ring) at which point the "owner" stood outside the store and glared at us walking away. In her defense she did say that...."this was a very bad day for her". My fiancé gave her a negative review, and she promised to make it right and issue a refund. I have called her store 3 times, left a voicemail, commented on her thread, and even PM'd her. She has ghosted me and refuses to honour her word. I went in looking for a toe ring for my niece and walked out with three and a new friend. Cathleen the owner was there that day and she took her time in helping me pick out the perfect ring. My niece is very picky and loves toe rings so I was looking for something special that would blow her mind. Well I found it and 2 more. Prices were more then fair compared to anything else I have seen (i shop around the prices are crazy good considering they are not mas produced) Cathleen explained she designs each ring her self with Aloha in every one. This place was fine. Not great, not terrible. The good: Selection of cute toe rings with nice Hawaii designs. Cool to find a store specializing in just toe rings. Close to other attractions/shops in Kailua-kona. The bad: The woman who fitted me (Cathleen) was a bit pushy. I expressed interest in one of the styles and I suspect that she may have sent me home with a ring that doesn't exactly fit properly because they had sold out of my size and wanted to make a sale. The rings were kinda pricey, although everything in Hawaii is. It makes sense that the reviews on here are mixed. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but I also wouldn't necessarily avoid this place if you're in Kailua-kona and want a toe ring - just be wary. read more

Kriss was so kind and charismatic and really knows how to make a girl feel welcomed! She acknowledged that I had a toe ring and then show cased her toes and instantly I fell in love with the idea of fixing mine! I started with one toe ring then I felt like the look wasn't complete. Kriss literally said to me, "I got you girl" and went ahead and played around with all different styles, types and placement. We own a condo in Waikoloa Beach Resort and I bought my first toe ring from Cathleen in 2008. Over the last nine years I have taken several friends and family members to her shop and all have purchased toe rings from her. Although short lived it was nice when she had her shop in our resort at The Kings Shops. She has always been pleasant in the past. However, my friend and I had a VERY bad experience when we went to her shop a few weeks ago. While Cathleen was fitting me she was incredibly rude to a young girl who wanted to pay for one of Cathleen's postcards that she sells. She snapped at the girl and said "I'm in the middle of a $150 dollar sale and you want to buy a 50cent postcard." The girl proceeded to hand Cathleen a dollar bill to pay for her postcard. Cathleen rudely asked her "do you want your change back too." Seriously. She was very rude. I felt bad for the girl and I didn't even know her. After being sold 3 toe rings Cathleen asked about my rings on my right foot. I told her that I bought them from her shop several years ago. She told me that she never sold wide bands and that I could only of bought them from her shop if one of her employees where selling them on the side without Cathleen's knowledge. Cathleen then told me that she had to close her Aloha Toe Ring store at Waikoloa Beach Resort because she found out that her "silent partner was a crook." Cathleen must of been having an extremely bad day/week/life, not sure which but she had NO Aloha spirit at all. She then upsold my friend and sized her wrong. Her toe ring feel off within a few short hours. We never made it back down to Kona to exchange it. She mailed it back to her from Hawaii. She called and asked Cathleen to just refund her on her credit card. She was then told she didn't allow refunds. However, that was not stated on her receipt or mentioned at the shop. Bad customer service to say the least. Instead, Cathleen, said the only thing she can do is mail her another size to her home in California which doesn't make ANY sense at all as Cathleen incorrectly fitted her toe to begin with. read more

I emailed the owner, Cathleen regarding a toe ring I had bought years ago that I had cracked; she responded quickly, professionally and generously! She sent me a new one , recycled the old, threw in two silver rings and did not charge me for the postage back! Boom! I received it in 2 days with a turn around process of less than a week!
