This was not my first time at Aloha Toe Rings. I bought a toe ring back in March from one of the store employees (not the owner) and I was satisfied with the service and the quality of the ring. A week later my foot broke out in the worst rash I have ever had. Yes, I am allergic to sterling silver, but it was worse than that and I ended up cutting the ring off because my toe puffed up so badly it would not come off. That was not the employees fault because she did tell me it was sterling silver, but coated in something else. I thought the coating would be enough, but unfortunately it wasnt. This week my friend and I went in to look so I could show my friend some rings because we both love toe rings. At first the owner didn't seem too bad or unpleasant but the second I said that I had bought there previously and was allergic to sterling silver she immediately changed tones and asked why we were even shopping there then. I was shocked she would use such words with customers but kind of brushed it off as coming off ruder than she intended. That was until she told us that nobody is allergic to gold so we should buy those instead. When I said I don't want to buy a $300 toe ring she got very rude and said "oh but you'll pay for some cheap temporary thing on your arm that will be gone in a week". At that point I was very uninterested in anything she had to say and I was ready to leave, but not before she insulted my friend I was with by telling her she can't be allergic to metal also because she was wearing titanium earings. They were not. They were sterling silver and they were turning her ears itchy, puffy, and black. We left after that. That is not how to treat people. I don't care how long you've been "making your own jewelry". There is a way to treat people and that was not it. I will never go back unless it's to throw my drink on her. ;p read more

DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!! I purchased a toe ring last July a couple of days before I left to go home. I am a frequent Kona visitor and had thought long and hard about my toe ring purchase. I enjoyed it for 2 weeks and then started to feel a pinch (just my luck), the toe ring had broke. I still had my proof of purchase and contact information. I made sure I called Hawaii time and got no answer, I left a message, no answer. I typed up an e-mail, no answer. I gave it a few days and again called and left a message, no answer. I typed a 2nd e-mail and was greeted by crickets (no answer). I placed the ring in a safe place and packed it for my next trip to Kona. I am now back in Hawaii and I brought my toe ring along to take back to the shop. I was hoping they could fix it or replace it. I was also wanting to get two more for a different look because I thought I just had bad luck, I still had faith in the product. I approached the women (who had sold me the ring) and told her my toe ring had broke. She then put up her defense and started telling me that I should have called, when I told her I called her twice, she got even more mad and told me I should have e-mailed her, I calmly told her I had done that twice as well, she then got in my face as if she was stepping up to a fight and snarled "Why didn't you send it back then?". I guess my flight sense kicked in and I turned and walked out of there as quick as I could. I felt shaky and confused. I am not one for confutation and was caught off guard. I don't want any one to have the same experience I did. If you do choose to give Aloha Toe Ring your business, you are buying at your own risk. You will be dealing with a biting snake if you happen to buy a ring that breaks. read more

I've bought toe rings here before and had a great experience. However, I recently tried to purchase barefoot sandals for my wedding. Big mistake. I was told that the owner could custom make the sandals based on a picture. I paid 50% more for custom sandals that didn't look anything like the picture. When I took them back to discuss changes, the owner was incredibly rude. She basically told me that she doesn't like to do bridal items because it isn't worth her time to get the materials. She told me that she didn't "feel like dealing with this." She did refund my money. However, I have never been treated with such disrespect by someone who is supposed to be selling me something. She also tried them on different toes to see where I preferred to wear them. I ended up getting three stacking gold&rose gold toe rings and I absolutely love them! I got my first toe-ring at this shop 7 years ago and I still have it on my foot! When I went back to the shop during a recent visit to Kona, the owner sat me down and got my ring off (amazingly easy considering I didn't even remove it through two pregnancies). She polished it and re-shaped it and it looks super shiny and sparkling new! I got a new stack for my other foot and everyone I know wants one. I have never seen toe-rings that stay on for so long, and look so great! There are tons of really touristy things in Kona, I love the Koa wood jewelry too, but it tends to be fragile. I had a great experience at this shop- Veronica(?) helped me see all the different kind of mix and matches I could do on my toes and spent quite a lot of time explaining the different types of designs. The best part about the rings are that they fit to your toe and the quality is amazing. They're not the cheap toe rings that have clasps in the back. I didn't get the chance to buy anything there (which I totally regret) because we were on a time crunch. But the next time I'm there, I'm definitely going to get the wave toe ring size 3! On our(my daughter and I)way in we had noticed a very attractive lady seated out front of the store. She engaged my daughter and I soon found that she was the owner of the store. I loved my first toe ring I bought here. It was a three piece set. When I went back later because I lost one of the bands I was charged more for 1 replacement band than I was for the original set. She kind of had me over a barrel if I wanted them to match. I went back a third time with a friend and while she was being fitted the owner was so very rude to another customer because they weren't spending much money. I decided against my better judgement to get another toe ring. I was looking at one about $35 - $40 while supposedly getting fitted she told us all about her ex silent business partners who were crooks and stole from her. She put a different ring on my toe. When we were done the price was over $150. She up-saled me to the max. On the way home it kept feeling like it was going to fall off. It did fall off that night and we were already heading out of town. Luckily I found it. If I wasn't fit properly when I was there how could it be done thru the mail. I was told there were no refunds. I returned the ring asking for a refund.... I was told she wouldn't give me one. Not to mention she pretty much called my friend a l liar but I'll let her tell her own story. read more

I was in Kona for two weeks and came across Aloha toe rings. I loved what I saw in the shop and went in to buy. The owner is a like a personal toe ring consultant/doctor! She was so helpful and fun in determining the best fit and comfort and took time to discuss options. I purchased a 3 ring set for one toe. A week later, I came back and got another ring for the other foot. Over the next days I realized the ring was too big. No problem. I went back to the shop and she sized me for a replacement - no muss, no fuss. Four weeks later, back home in Seattle, I realized that same ring was too tight. I emailed her and she is making it easy for me to resize using tools on her website and send the ring back for exchange. Great customer experience all around. I went here in February with my friend to buy toe rings for ourselves plus her mom & aunt. The owner assisted my friend first with no problem. When she gets to me I picked out the toe ring I wanted & she couldn't fit it on my toe so she insults me saying my toe is too fat then instead stuffs the toe ring on my other foot and puts some other thing on my toe I had originally wanted the toe ring on. I guess she felt she was doing me a favor by giving me a "free" toe ring when it was basically cheap piece of junk she stuffed on my toe. Well by a couple of days later my toe was so swollen and hurt I ended up going back to the store and requested they remove both toe rings bc I wanted circulation in my toes.
