I like the atmosphere of this bar a lot, and those huge comfortable chairs are fit for kings and queens. They have a good beer and liquor selection. A lot of the bars in the Wind Creek outlet have fancy beers, and that's fine, but I love it when I can go to WC and just get a Miller Lite, like I did last night at Mixx. The bartender, Cindy, was very cool and kept the drinks coming. If only all bartenders I encounter were so friendly and efficient! I hope she is there the next time we are at Mixx. They do not offer food here, but you can easily pop over to Bethlehem Barrel and Drafthouse, down the hall, and bring your food back with you. Or one of the other options in the WC outlet; I just mention Barrel because of their incredible pretzel bites. This is a great place for a relatively quiet evening with friends or a date. Or, if you're staying at the hotel, it is definitely better than what generally passes for a hotel bar.

Its food rivaled the best restaurants in the Lehigh Valley, and its cigar events were nothing short of epic--it was a place of undeniable class and sophistication. While there were a few times over the years when the pressure to lower the quality of the menu or service was disappointing, it never completely lost its appeal.COVID unfortunately drove many restaurants out of business. When The Leaf later brought in an outside barbecue vendor--whose name I won't mention--the establishment hit a new low. There are several excellent barbecue vendors in the Lehigh Valley, but this was certainly not one of them. However, after learning that the internal kitchen had finally reopened, I decided to give it another try.Upon arrival, my friend and I bought some cigars in the shop and expected to see signage for the evening's event. There was none. When I asked the shop staff about the event, they didn't even seem aware of it. We then wandered into the restaurant, which also lacked any signage. Fortunately, we were greeted by our waitress, Nicki C., who proved to be an absolute gem throughout the evening.The Famous brand cigars paired with the Four Roses bourbon were superb. We eventually moved outside to escape the trivia night, which was a bit too distracting for a conversation. For dinner, we both ordered the Sweet Bourbon Chicken sandwich, and it was excellent--the crusting was done to perfection. I also had the Truffle Parmesan fries, which were quite good.It is truly unfortunate that the event was not better promoted, resulting in a low turnout. I tipped heavily because Nicki absolutely deserved it; it is vital for a restaurant to remember that waitstaff can make or break the dining experience. I also asked to speak with Chef Corina Werkheiser to compliment her directly. Her execution and ingenuity with the menu were highly impressive. The Leaf's manager, Emily Stenger, also stopped by our table to gather our feedback, and I was deeply impressed by her frankness, positive attitude, and determination.I sincerely hope that the owner, Arthur, recognizes the two gems he has on his team and gives them his full support. While it will take significant effort for The Leaf to regain the elite status it once held, they can absolutely achieve greatness again if they continue down the quality-driven path that Stenger and Werkheiser have started.
