    Crab Cheese Wonton
    Airon A.

Took a road trip to Boulder and stopped for lunch at Aloy Thai Cuisine. Aloy has a menu selection of warm, comforting soups, rich and aromatic curries, vibrant salads, and a wide array of contemporary Thai dishes, all crafted with fresh, quality ingredients. Aloy Thai Cuisine is a great spot in Boulder for flavorful, satisfying Thai food. We arrived during happy hour so ordered the pork egg rolls (3 piece) thin flaky pastry stuffed with ground pork, cabbage, carrots, and woonsen noodle, deep fried with sweet and sour sauce and crab wontons (4 piece) cream cheese and crab meat stuffed in wonton shell served with sweet and sour sauce. The pork egg rolls were crispy on the outside with a generous, tasty filling, perfectly fried and not greasy. The crab wontons were a highlight, light, crunchy, and packed with creamy filling, paired nicely with a sweet dipping sauce. I ordered the BBQ chicken entree that is marinated and grilled and served with spicy tamarind or sweet and sour sauce. It came with so many fresh veggies and I loved the tamarind sauce so much I had to order extra. The BBQ chicken was tender and well-seasoned with a slightly smoky, savory-sweet taste that really stood out. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable, great for a relaxed meal without feeling rushed. If you're in Boulder and craving Thai food done right, Aloy Thai Cuisine is definitely worth checking out. It was a very reasonable price point for the quantity of food.

I honestly wish I would have tried more items out! I got the basil fried rice with added chicken and it was amazing! The portion size was larger but smaller than I expected for a Thai place. Flavors were amazing all around, I was a bit worried about the bell peppers and if they were going to be undercooked but I was so wrong and should have never doubted for a second! The place is nice and quaint, it was right across the street from my hotel so super easy to walk to and I absolutely will be trying more items out again. Potentially the red curry!!

    Khao Soi.......amazing !!!

MUST TRY / HAVE !!! 1st time from out of town & came here for the KHAO SOI noodle soup. HOLY SCHNIKES !!!! was this good. SO GOOD !!! I almost ordered a 2nd one it was that good. Nice atmosphere and the service was great. Need to come back with a group and try other dishes but I'll always get this.. This is without a doubt - A MUST HAVE whenever I come to Colorado !!!

I came to Boulder for a nice and quick vacay (and also to check out the routes for the Boulder Marathon in September - I signed up to do the half). For dinner, I decided to visit AloyI hadn't realized they were featured in Guy Fieri's DDD - I must have missed that episode and I need to look it up now to watch it. I ordered the spring rolls, a cup of Tom Yum soup, and the bison khao soi. The spring roll came out quickly and tasted fresh. The peanut dipping sauce was fire! It has the typical Thai flavor - sweet, sour, salty, spicy. One of the best dipping sauce I've had. Then the soup came out. The soup was a little thicker than what I am used to, and the flavor is also a little heavier. I missed the tomatoes that I am accustomed to seeing in this soup, but it still had good flavor. The khao soi is a little thinner than I am used to, but, again, the sauce had good flavor. The bison was extremely tender. The decor was nice and the restaurant had a good vibe. It was a little busy but everyone was attended to with care. I appreciate the fact that this is a women-owned restaurant. Who knows, maybe I'll come back tomorrow for another meal! If not, I know I'll be back for my half marathon in September :)

    Khoa Soi Bison special. Amazing

Update. Some new specials you can't miss. First this place is amazing. All my out of town guests always make a request to go here when they are in town. This is really special Thai and worth a trip. They currently have a Khoa Soi Bison special. Michelin has a category of "worth making a trip for" and this falls in that category. Think a creamy broth y curry like starter with thick noodles topped with a ball of fried noodles for texture and big hunks of tender bison. Absolutely excellent And you should always start with the papaya salad. It's strips of cut green papaya usually in a spicy dressing and peanuts. A crisp fresh start

Had dinner at Aloy Thai the other night and it lived-up to it's well-earned reputation. The food is off the charts delicious; they have all the Thai Standards & add to that list with adventuresome Specials. The service was fast & friendly in a good strip mall in Boulder. The atmosphere is bright and clean - a great dining experience all around.

I went here based on a colleague's recommendation. I ordered chicken pad Thai and it was just alright. The flavor was not there as much as I'd like and it was quite sweet but overall still good. I ordered online and when I arrived, 2 servers walked past me multiple times before acknowledging me. The portion sizes are generous but they are pricey. I don't know that I would return.

This is our new Thai spot to go to in Boulder. Super friendly hostess and server. Lively atmosphere with lots of people. Eggplant and pork dish was the bomb! Slow cooked chicken with egg noodles was also delicious. Cucumber salad was a little sweeter than I'd like, fresh and good but nothing too special.

The other reviews aren't lying! Completely worth the splurge. Each dish was so flavorful. This will be my go to Thai spot moving forward!

    Gluten free D Drunken Noodle

Aloy Thai is my Boulder go-to. The service is always great & fast, the food is so comforting & delicious, & they're great at accommodating allergies. I'm celiac & so many items on the menu can be made gluten free!!! I just moved to New York & I miss Aloy all the time :,( favorite restaurant in Boulder hands down.

    Duck (red) curry

The duck curry was crazy good! Savored every bite!! Large generous chunks of duck meat and I love their creativity with pineapple and grapes. The hibiscus was a very elegant (and tasty) touch. Khao soi (egg noodles) and chef noodles (white flat rice noodles) were great as well This is our go to for Boulder!!

We loved this little find! We ordered Crying Tiger (soo delicious, but could've used more spice), Pad Thai w/ chicken (loved it), and a curry soup with tofu, and chicken fried rice (generous portion!). We also tried some edamame pot stickers (we weren't a fan of them, but might've just been a personal preference thing, idk). The food was delicious. The spice level was pretty mild. I'd go up a spice level when ordering here. I'm not one for very spicy, but a little kick is kind of expected with Thai; it wasn't there. Four of us ate lunch. The total for the above dishes was $100. We might try other places to find equally great food, but with better prices. It was delicious though! Staff was friendly and attentive. If you're comfortable paying a bit more, I highly recommend.

Guy Fieri can never lead you wrong. The chicken kao soi was phenomenal and so was the vegetarian drunken noodles. It was getting packed by the time we were leaving. Glad to have stopped here.

We tried a lot of things on the menu and liked each dish. But our absolute favorites were the kimchi sweet potato fries (this was a crowd favorite dish and we're still dreaming about it), ginger chili potstickers (so good!), and the hot fudge cake with ice cream for dessert (melt in your mouth warm chocolate cake with ice cream, it was 10 out of 10). We also enjoyed the butternut penne, everything crunch salad, and butternut squash arancini which were all delicious. Also, the bread deserves its own shout out - very soft and warm, and still rich in flavor. Easily the best bread I've had in a long time. Service was great with a friendly and attentive staff. Ambiance was warm, inviting, cozy and sophisticated. Would definitely recommend stopping here to anyone!!

I've been here many times in a variety of ways--sat at the bar, at tables with friends and by myself, both inside and outside, and even experienced the large farm table prix fixe menu, which was fantastic. My experiences have consistently been great--the food, service, and atmosphere have always been top-notch. Tonight, however, was my first disappointing visit. I ordered the root vegetable bruschetta, which was very good. I also ordered the butternut squash penne pasta, a dish I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it was extremely spicy. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if it was just a heavy hand in the kitchen, but it was not something I could eat. I mentioned it to the waiter, who didn't have an answer, so I simply asked for a to-go container. Since I couldn't eat it, I later gave the container to a homeless woman sitting nearby with her grocery cart. On my way out, I spoke with someone at the door who brought over the manager. The manager asked if he could see the dish, so I opened the container for him. He then asked if he could taste it and reached in, picked up a noodle, and tried it, saying he didn't notice anything unusual. He also wasn't aware of any changes to the recipe. I suggested that if the dish is now spicy, it might be helpful to note that on the menu so guests know what to expect. What left me disappointed wasn't just the dish itself, but how the situation was handled. There wasn't an offer to replace the meal or provide an alternative, which would have gone a long way. As someone who is only about six months into living in Colorado and a new business owner in the area, I often refer places I believe in. Tonight left me questioning whether I will continue to recommend Leaf based on how this was handled, though I'm hopeful that by tomorrow morning I may feel differently. That said, based on my many past positive experiences, I still believe Leaf is a great restaurant. I just hope this was an off night and that a little more attention is given to both consistency in the kitchen and how concerns are handled moving forward.

I ordered the DDD special which was to come with chili and soup and a tortilla. The meat of the chili was so ground up it tasted like anything but meat, it was covered in a full layer of green onions, and the flavor was very citrusy with nothing else to balance it out. The soap had identifiable lumps of something that definitely didn't taste like chicken and just wasn't good. I finished the tortilla and had a couple bites of both sides. She loves everything she's had here. It was my first time. I ordered the chicken bowl with yakisoba noodles. It was lukewarm, but that's fine for me. I think they must have microwaved it because it was steamier as you ate down the bowl. The veggies were crisp, the noodles perfect, the chicken was tender. It was spiced at what I'd call a medium level, and quite yummy. My friend then ordered their vegan chocolate pudding, which we shared. Yummy and light. My one big criticism is that they charge $4 for iced tea. I questioned it and the cashier was kind of snippy about it, but the customer behind me approached after I dispensed my tea and said she agreed it's too expensive. The meal was appropriately priced and there is plenty of food, but the drinks? C'mon. It's worth maybe $2.50. They really should reevaluate that. It's the main reason that I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5. The other people who work there were nice and helpful. I didn't grab a fork but the server who brought my bowl cheerfully went and got me a fork and napkin. Very nice. It's obviously popular, it filled up as we sat, with quite a variety of people, from babies to seniors. I might go back, but perhaps next time I'll just get water. I hope they don't charge for that!

We were surprised to find it very crowded at 4pm when we visited. There's a small area at the front of the restaurant and a lot of folks were gathered there waiting for their tables. It took several minutes before the hostess checked us in and let us know it would be a few minute wait. A bit later we were guided to our seats. I appreciated that they took trouble to make it feel like a special experience - with white tablecloths, decor and the cutlery. They seemed a bit short staffed that day so our server was helping out many tables. He was very helpful in explaining the menu, though we did have to ask specifically to receive the full tea menu. We decided on a few teas to share - a spiced white chocolate white tea, rooibos chai, and a hibiscus cooler (iced and non-caffeinated). The spiced white chocolate was fantastic. I wasn't as much of a fan of the rooibos but if you like less sweet teas this is a good choice. The hibiscus cooler was delicious and refreshing, and I liked that they let us take it to go! Our amuse bouche came out first - a delicious pumpkin seed savory small soup and it was fantastic. We eagerly awaited our tea tower - and it certainly did not disappoint! We are still thinking about the delicious spinach and artichoke pinwheel with olive tapenade - it was our absolute favorite. The savory sandwiches were also delicious. We especially enjoyed the clotted cream and lemon curd with the scone, and the desserts were delectable. We were stuffed by the end of our teatime! Our server was very helpful and despite it being very busy, we felt taken care of. I think this is a very worthwhile experience - the tea, sweets, and savories are all delicious and definitely worth checking out!

Everything we tried was excellent! There are lots of vegetarian options, and I especially enjoyed…read moretheir patatas bravas and gazpacho. The sangria was tasty too! The servers were super friendly and always there when we needed something. And the location is excellent! It's noisy inside if you like that but quiet and fun at the outside tables, right on the Pearl Street Mall.

It's been a while since we stopped in here. The menu has changed and so has the staff. And like…read moremost places around me, the prices have gone up, in this case, maybe more than others. Maybe rightly so as their specialized ingredients are harder to get. We sat inside this time though we used to go mostly mid summer and sit out. The patio was jam full last night so we ate inside where it was quite empty early evening during happy hour. My husband had the happy hour special of the evening, a very large serving of large mussels with grilled sourdough and a lucious broth. We also had some small plate tapas and I mostly grazed those. I love Bocarones and they do it so well though for me last night, the peppers were a bit too spicy. But I got the majority of the little fishies, my husband the peppers.. We also had the tortilla papas and the charred Hazel Dell mushrooms which were excellent. The little salad topping on the tortilla was full of specialty greens like fennel fronds and pea shoots. The mushrooms has a warm egg yolk on top to stir into the dressing which was tasty. We finished with their flan which was as good as my Spanish born neighbor made in my youth. I had a very nice tea with it. I was originally going to knock off a star for pricing but honestly, I don't think they have much option these days. But sadly we will go less frequently in the future.
