Located in a stall next to the Hilo farmers market. I ordered the curry noodles because I am always craving both curry and noodles and it just spoke to me on the menu. The meal was cooked fresh on the spot and had so much flavor. Veggies and noodles were both cooked to perfection, and it came with a perfect crunch of peanuts on top. I asked for it spicy, and it was absolutely perfect for me - if you don't specify - it automatically comes as mild. It's located next to a sushi place and kula açaí bowls, and there is a shared seating area for all 3 restaurants so it's perfect for going with a group of people who all want to eat different things.

Thai iced tea for only $2.50! Can't beat that! Pad Thai was a little salty, and not very authentic. There was not enough chicken in the pad Thai either. Fast and friendly service. Down to earth place.

I love this place. The owner is very nice! This is my new favorite spot when I want to eat summer rolls. The summer rolls come with peanut or sweet and sour sauce. The peanut sauce is amazingly delicious! The best peanut sauce ever!

Aloydee's is located in a space with other food vendors along Kamehameha Ave near Hilo Farmers Market. There are lots of stalls along Kamehameha Ave, but you may need to be patient, especially on weekends. The space that Aloydee's is in was pretty empty when I went on a Saturday afternoon, and there were also seats inside. I ordered a pineapple curry with tofu and brown rice. I love pineapple but never had it in curry before! It was a refreshing curry, and I will definitely be on the hunt for pineapple curry from now on. The worker made the food fresh, so it stayed hot for a long time. The only complaint I had is that she put chicken instead of tofu inside, and I don't like chicken! But I totally understand, since maybe she misheard me, and people make mistakes all the time. Overall great food, but don't forget to check what's in your container! read more

Ended up here for lunch on the way to Hawaii Volcano's National Park. Great choice! My party had the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai and green curry. The food came out piping hot and it was really tasty. The green curry had eggplant, long beans, and chicken and on top of brown rice, it's was satisfying. Portions aren't huge but should satisfy most. I would come back again. read more

We were at the Hilo farmer's market which is just steps from Aloydee's and after seeing all the beautiful produce I couldn't resist a lunch full of vegetables. I ordered the red curry pineapple lunch plate with chicken. Yum! For $8 you can't get something more packed with veggies and flavor - broccoli, onions, peppers, zucchini, carrots and of course pineapple. As I waited for my lunch to be made the owners daughter chatted with me, complimenting my earrings and sunglasses. She was about 8 and told me she tried to give people compliments every day. Way to cook great food, run a bustling business, and raise a great girl! I would highly recommend stopping here when in Hilo! read more

My family ate here twice during our 5 day stay on the big island. Everyone in our group agreed the Tom Kah soup was fantastic: the coconut broth was so rich and flavorful, and had heaps of veggies. The papaya salad was also great and recommendable, though it was a bit heavy on the peanuts. It's cash only, however an ATM is conveniently located nearby. read more

This is my favorite place to get quick Thai food. I get food here at least once a week. They are at the Hilo Farmers Market Wednesdays and Saturday's, but open other days in the alley way next door with a bigger menu available there. I LOVE their curries. I have had the green curry and red curry. What I love about their curry is there's TONS of different veggies. The taste is amazing and always consistent. The only other thing is that the amount of rice is not enough for all the curry sauce they give so I always end up buying an extra scoop of rice which is only $1. I also love their pad Thai. I've had all of the different ones: Chicken, shrimp and the tofu. Unlike others I've tried, this one has flavor. When I need a cold treat, I also like to get Thai Ice Tea. $2.50 and so good. read more

Aloydee's is one counter in an odd little food court located on the bayfront in downtown Hilo. She shares the space with an icecream vendor, a sushi chef, a fish restaurant, a coffee vendor, etc. It's counter service, served in takeout containers, but there are cafe tables you can sit at. It was a one-woman show when we ate there... she takes your order and prepares it fresh for you, so it may take a few minutes. She was very likeable, friendly, and neat, and the food was delicious and affordable. I had a green papaya salad with avocado for $6.50 and my crazy friend had summer rolls with tofu and peanut sauce for $6. Then he proceeded to pull out all the tofu out of his rolls and put it on my salad because he doesn't eat tofu. "Why did you order it?" I asked.... "because I knew you'd want it" was the answer. Anyway, the menu is small and focuses on salads, summer rolls, and some curries, pad thai, and two soups... all with your choice of tofu, chicken, or shrimp. Prices are $6-$8...nothing is above $8. Thai iced tea and coffee are $2, bottled water $1. My friend said his summer rolls (de-tofu'd) were very good. My green papaya salad with avocado also had cabbage, lime, hot peppers, the avocado was perfectly ripe.... soooo yummy and nicely spicy... a very generous portion... this place will be a new favorite for me... so much healthier for the same money as McDonalds!!! The best authentic Thai recipes in town! Best small spot to pick up and go or quick lunch sit down. We ordered their pad Thai, if you go wrong with pad Thai then you don't know pad Thai but Aloydee has got it down! Also, picked up the shrimp spring roll, wrapped up nicely with freshest veggies and the peanut sauce to dip in is on point. The cashew nut stir fry was also very rich and tasty. Service was very genuine and friendly. Wonderful easy spot for lunch if you're looking for a taste of Thai food. read more

Best Thai Food hands down! I'm very picky when it comes to Thai Food because I am Thai. This place I highly reccomend. Sweet little Thai Lady. I use to live in Hilo and go there everyday. So I was like a regular there. The owner would hook me up and give me free Thai Tea or whatever she felt like giving. If you ever in Hilo go check it out! read more

I am from the Island of Oahu where there are many Thai Restaurants. So a Thai place in Hilo was just perfect. We ordered the Papaya Salad, Summer Roll Avocado, and Green Curry chicken. All dishes were so fresh and flavorful. I have never had avocado summer rolls before. But trying it here for the first time was definitely refreshing. The green curry was authentic and the chicken thigh was super tender. I will definitely recommend this place to any of my friends that visit. read more

Decent, but nothing special. We were nearby for the adjacent sushi place which was closed so ate here instead. Food was fine, but not in same league as superior Thai restaurants. Then again, this is a one woman show takeout place, but I don't get the 5 star ratings. read more

If you want a decent Thai food, don't go here. Got the Thai green curry shrimp instead of chicken for 1$ extra. When I got the order it was 95% white rice, barely any curry and 3 shrimps and some vegetables. read more

The restaurant does not have its own parking and there is no restroom available inside the building. The interior felt uncomfortable to me - the yellow walls and the music playlist did not match the theme of Thai cuisine, which affected the overall dining experience. I am a fan of Thai food and have visited Thailand multiple times. Based on my personal experience, the dishes served did not match what I am used to from traditional Thai cuisine. There was a large amount of onion and ingredients that, in my experience, are uncommon in classic Thai dishes. The front door remained open, and at times the smell of car exhaust from vehicles parked along the street entered the dining area, which made the environment less pleasant. Due to these factors, I finished my meal quickly and personally would not choose to return.

They have rewards programs for kamaaina which includes a point system that gives you significant savings on your next visit. The food is first rate, from the pupus to the main dishes to the desserts. If you dine here and are not a big person don't get a booth table as it's the most uncomfortable seating I've ever experienced. The seat is way too far from the table and I needed to lean forward and sit on the edge of the seat. I would recommend getting a table its chair so you be able to adjust yourself to the distance from the table. Server was just Ok and with them placing a water decanter on the table for refill they didn't come around as often. The decanter water has no ice so whatever ice you have in your cup to cool the water. Last time eating at this establishment was better and my only complaint was the window seats next to the picture window and the flys that was buzzing there. Only thing is again there were two big flies buzzing the windows and I had to waved them away. The doors are always shut and only when customers walk in could the flys get in. Staff should walk around before opening and get rid of them. We entered about 5:10 PM so it was opened for just 10 minutes and shouldn't have flys. Air conditioning was on but the temperature was a bit warm and a cooler temperature of maybe 10 degrees be perfect. I had the mochico Ono and it was just ok tasting but on the plate presentation was nice. My wife had the pork chops and she really liked it but said was just a little over cooked. I did try a small sample and to me it was just ok also. ambiance in the restaurant is nice and most of the staff were very attentive. The server we had wasn't and I needed to Get his attention to get my bill even though he had passed multiple times and didn't or should have noticed we were done dining. Probably not be dining again at this establishment again and do know of better dining spots in Hilo.
