Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed AIARE Level 1 with Syd last weekend. The love of the mountains is deep and I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the entire organization in how you managed the process and the outcome of the experience in less than ideal times. Syd has an inspiring story and relates to people quite well, considering our group had such a diverse background of experience, personal comfort, and goals. I feel like there was a real community and that you all are living your best lives in the mountains and that was incredibly refreshing. Sometimes it is hard to see passion in this day and age when a lot of people are just trying to "get through it." The intention behind how Syd asked us what we were feeling, seeing, noticing was a fidelity of experience that I loved and will take with me forever. I am fresh off of my 3 week Trek to Nepal with Alpenglow and a few of my best friends! What an amazing experience. All of the guides and coordinators of our Everest Base Camp Trek were exceptional and worked very hard to make our excursion personal and everything we wanted it to be. I am glad I made the decision to do this very difficult adventure with such a professional and experienced company. Yes- it was difficult much of the time, from the elevation to the milage to the cold weather conditions. There were so many highlights of the trip, it is hard to pin down one in particular.Arriving at EBC was certainly a highlight, but daily we were blessed with incredible views, amazing people and awesome mountain scenery. For this 62 year old grandmother of 4, this was a huge undertaking and held so many high points( no pun intended), I will be forever changed by this experience! I had an absolute blast on our Everest trip! I understand that this wasn't a standard Alpenglow trek and they went the extra mile to provide us a unique experience off of the beaten path. While most trekkers to base-camp were hiking along a dusty, yak-filled path--we spent our time travelling on a gorgeous route that had breath-taking views at every turn. Everyone that we worked with at Alpenglow, both in Nepal and in the US were incredibly helpful and made the experience easy--all we had to do was focus on the trekking and making memories. Safe summit of Everest for a single mother of two Thank you to Alpenglow and my guide Sid Pattison for an amazing trip to the top of the world! In 30 days door to door, I summited Everest from the north side, skied part of the north Cole and came back home to my two children and work. Efficiency and safety was very important to me and Alpenglow delivered 100%. The company only climbs the North Side (Tibet) to avoid crowds and related hazards. Impeccable logistics, compassionate and inspiring guiding, great staff and strong leadership on the mountain, coupled with Hypoxico-assisted pre acclimatization made this trip a success all around. We did a 6 hour backcountry ski tour on a perfect weather day. Logan and the other folks in the shop were all really friendly and went the extra mile to find us another pair of rental skis at a local shop when they didn't have the right size for one in our party. Our guide Glen was excellent. He is a local with lots of knowledge about snow conditions, alpine vegetation, Tahoe history, search and rescue, etc. This was our first time in the backcountry and it was hard work, but well worth it. Fantastic experience if you're at least an intermediate skier, reasonably fit and willing to earn your turns with a long but rewarding hike on skis. read more

Via Ferrata was unreal. A unique experience that went above and beyond our expectations. To scale the front side of the tram face in Squaw Valley with our family was something we'll never forget! The whole family was pumped and it was a great bonding experience. It would be a good one to bring our company out to for a team building experience. Going to look into that as well for the future! A terrific trip through amazing scenery. Unlike some mountains we were able to acclimatise by using other mountains rather than having to trek up and down the same one one of which was another 6,000 metre peak. Although I had been sceptical about the hypoxic tent it obviously did help as all bar one of the group sumitted. As wit previous trips theAlpenglow guide Esteban "Topo" Mena was exceptional in organising the logistics and pacing each of the climbs prior to and including the summit. read more

climbed with alpenglow and they are the only international company I have ever climbed with. logistics are handled very well. very nice accommodations, food, and all the details. Carla Perez guided me first in Ecuador with one summit and a turn around for safety purposes on Chimborazo due to avalanche danger. Then 10 days later I was on the summit of Aconcagua with Roberto Morales ( Tico). Again a top notch guide. I can't really say enough good things highly recomended!! read more

Just participated in a 2.5 days Women's Beginner Backcountry Ski Clinic with Alpenglow Expeditions and it was AWESOME! Our guides, Sydney and Tailer, were exceptional. We learned about what to carry in our packs, some very, very basic avalanche information, and then summited Poulsen's Peak on the first day and Castle Peak on the second day. Gave great tips on pro placement and picked fun routes that were in line with my skill set. Amazing climbing adventure. Safe, courteous staff and equipment. Bring plenty of water- best in a small backpack. Gloves for $3 at start were a pleasant and thoughtful surprise. I'm 57 years old and went out with my 16 year-old daughter for a 4-hour outdoor session with Jared. We are both relative beginners and had a great time. Jared was not only personable, but he gave great advice, really helping improve our technique and understand how to be better climbers who handle more technically demanding climbs.
