Excellent beers! We shared a plate of "baby toasted raviolis." These weren't just a basic frozen-and-deep fried toasted rave... these were hand made and delicious. Phenomenal service too... glad we stopped here.

I can't believe I didn't know about this place. So glad I found it. The outside area is so cool. It would be fun to hang out there when the weather gets a little nicer. The drinks were good. My friends really liked the beers but I kept with the Flying Cherry Cocktail. My friends ordered a wrap and the tacos. I wasn't hungry but considering the food was scarfed down before I got a photo I'm guessing it was really good. These came with fries which were really good. We also ordered the pickled veggies. Yum!! We came here just because and we were super happy to see someone come in to play music. She was amazing. I had actually seen her and her co-musician before and was pleasantly surprised to see them. I really like this place. It is laid back and relaxing. I'll DEFINITELY be back!!

Staff was nice, the place was clean, unfortunately the new kitchen hours didn't allow us to get food (we missed it by 4-minutes) but we were able to try a few different beers and a watermelon cider (they ran out of guava).

Pretty empty for a Thursday evening, but we had a couple of beers which we both enjoyed. They always have some funky out of the ordinary selections which is cool. Food on the other hand was somewhat average. My smashburger was way overcooked and dry, toppings helped make up for it but still disappointing. Fries were hot and delicious. My wife said her chicken strips were average and had too much breading. Would go back for beers, but not sure about food.

Creative selections of beers, husband really likes Parity Error, good citrus flavor, easy to drink. Food was good too. Love the creative bike rake outside.

Lovely people running this place! I visited for my brother in law's show, which they were hosting in their barrel room. We all grabbed food beforehand, and I had one of the few veggie options. I've had A LOT of veggie burgers and this one wasn't a standout, but it wasn't bad either. I enjoyed the honey mustard sauce and the veggies were fresh and crisp. I love that they offered some different options for their fries. I had the chili-cumin. The seasoning is sweet and salty. It reminds me of lawry's seasoning if it had a little spice.

Sure, come for the beer and hard seltzers. I've never had a disappointing drink. They've updated their menu. The smashed burgers are amazing. The pretzels come with the best beer cheese I've ever had. They have a great patio with live music on weekends. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the drinks. This is one of my regular hangouts.

Alpha Brewing in the Tower Grove South Neighborhood of St. Louis, Mo. I love everything about this. 1. Repurposed items (find the gate posts ); 2. Package waste reduction practices & energy conservation; 3. Growth, once at Square One, the owner, Derrick, started this spot; 4. Use of local companies for ingredients. Owner Derrick Langeneckert's background in science and passion for beer led to this brewery specializing in sour and barrel-aged beers. The food menu pairs well with their beer and cocktails, especially the smash burger (the black bean burger was awesome). Alpha's commitment to sustainability extends to packaging waste reduction, energy conservation, and waste diversion, making it a do-gooder standout in the St. Louis craft beer scene. What a spot! Loved it! Thanks Yelp for the introduction!

I came to alpha brewing today for a Yelp elite event! Alpha brewing serves a variety of draft beers, beers on tap, cocktails, and N/A options. You order at the bar and they bring your food right to you. The bartenders and servers were speedy and very polite! I ordered 2 mellow gold winter lagers which was light and refreshing and perfect for a chill winter night. I also got the patty melt with shoe string fries. The bread on the patty melt was toasted well and the burger meat cooked perfectly. The shoestring fries were flavored well. I also split the sugar butter pretzel fries which were a nice dessert pretzel. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the sweet butter drizzle was perfect on top. They had live music playing but I was still able to chat with my friends. I noticed that they have an outdoor patio so I look forward to coming back when it warms up!!

Alpha is always a good time! The service is always on top of it. Our bartender was super helpful when we were deciding what drinks to order. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap from the kitchen later in the night and they ran out of large wraps. The cook was creative and used smaller tortillas - I'd argue the smaller ones were better!! Definitely try their new vodka; it's flavorful but not too sweet.

Happy hour beers, burgers and fries hardly ever taste this good! Came here on a Thursday after working in the office to enjoy the laid back and cozy vibes. The bartender was friendly and offered prompt and attentive service. What we ate and drank: - Smash Burger: (4/5/5) GET THIS. This was as good of a smash burger as you will find in the St. Louis area. The choice to use tenderloin made for a leaner, but still flavorful burger. Double layers of cheese (white American?) added perfect texture. I would have liked more sauce, so I will ask for it next time. - Cajun fries: (3.75/5) Decent, thin cut freezer fry. Cajun seasoning made them special. - Cowboy's Last Ride (4/5): Crisp, light and easy to drink. - Apocrypha: (4.25/5) Darned tasty sour beer. I really like sours and this is a good one. Love the taster portions. - I do whiskey, on the rocks (4.25/5): I really like this whiskey. Nice oak flavor and the sweet finish makes for something reminiscent of Jack Daniels, but better. I haven't been to Alpha for about 10 years. I need to get back soon!

Alpha Brewing had a warm environment. A great place to connect with others, + kid friendly. There was not a kids menu to select from today but they were accommodating on what they did have on the menu for a little one. Beer - recommended! The loaded fries can and should be shared. The Smash Burger is fantastic.

Amazing beer selection! Good spot if you like to get a nice sour. Yummy food selection as well. Spacious and nice patio with fellow Tassie the cat who is super friendly and sweet. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good beer and nice patio spot.

I was honestly surprised at how busy it was when we arrived at 4pm on a Thursday. Inside was packed, with quite a few larger groups as well. Our table was right in the middle of the restaurant, so we had a good view of everything going on. It was loud, but in a fun, lively way. Our server was really friendly and quick. She checked in on us often and gave some helpful recommendations. We ordered drinks and a couple of apps to share, and she left us a full bottle of cold water, which was such a nice touch. We got the pretzel monkey bread, french fries (the best) and the artichoke bean dip. We weren't planning to stay for dinner, just wanted some snacks. The food came out fast and honestly looked too good to wait on. I loved the monkey bread, the pretzel bites had a great crisp to them, and the sauces they served with it were really good. The bean dip was good too, just not as much my thing since I'm not a big fan of dill, so I left most of that for everyone else. Once we wrapped up, we were able to split the check and head out pretty quickly. I really appreciate places that still make it easy to split checks, and even more when you can just pay right at the table with those handheld POS devices.

It's not altogether different from the smell of beer as it's coming back up, and it called to mind my illustrious, mostly-forgotten-at-this-point college years. I was suddenly compelled to listen to Cannibal Ox and watch certain videos that I'd pilfered from Kazaa, and it's probably for the best that I didn't have access to a circa 1998 Compaq Presario in that moment. The vibe in Bluewood Brewing is a lot classier. There's no "Iron Galaxy" over the PA. The lights are dimmed, which I imagine would be convenient if there was someone there you owed money to. I was particularly impressed with a long table on the patio. I remarked to a member of my running group that it almost certainly didn't come from IKEA. The wood was of too high a quality. The food menu is limited to a small selection of standard sports-bar fare, but this is not anywhere you'd go to watch the game. They might not have any TVs. Did they spend too much on the table? Also, they don't sell any beer in cans, that I'm aware of, which I generally prefer as someone who, as the evening progresses, is prone to dropping things. I went with something called Crush, which is an orange-flavored high-gravity IPA. It was the highest ABV selection on their regular beer menu, but it also costs a little bit more, so you're not really getting over on them--unless you thought to "pregame." I found it to be both less "stiff" than I was expecting and less orange-tasting, in a good way but also in a bad way, in that anything that fails to conform to expectation is at least somewhat disappointing. I was expecting paint thinner and orange juice. I got something that was balanced and flavorful. From the food menu, I got the daily special, which was a sort of elevated patty melt called the Stable Melt. It came with two all-beef patties, Swiss, caramelized onions and "Frisco" sauce on Union Loafers marbled rye, with your choice of chips or fries. It was $18, and as I was standing there a guy came out and changed the price to $19, presumably due to developments in the war with Iran. I was assured that I'd be "grandfathered in" at $18, but I'm not sure if he told the guy at the register and I didn't bother to check. It wasn't necessarily my kind of thing, but it was a great burger. The name-brand bread alone nearly justified the price increase. The meat was generously proportioned (no Diddy), but it didn't quite extend to the edges of the bread. Perhaps if it were one larger patty? The onions gave it a sophisticated Salisbury steak vibe, wholly superior to Hungry Man. The fries called to mind the fries at Wendy's. If only they offered a Frosty to dip them in. It wouldn't necessarily go with their beer. I'd suggest they put bourbon or something in it, but I shudder to think what they might charge.

I came with my parents and husband and we all agreed it was a great idea and a very comfortable space, perfect for what was needed. I was surprised at how relatively ample the parking was here despite its proximity to the city. We found a spot with no problems. There were discreet signs that directed us up the stairs to where the event was held. It was spacious, airy, and cool, with a decent number of tables and a very nice large bar, as well as restrooms for both men and women. Our family members who spoke were able to stand on a small stage and share their thoughts. The food was served buffet style in front of the stage. Although you'd think it might be hard to hear given the acoustics, they worked out a way to make it so their speeches could be heard easily. Even visiting with other folks after they spoke, it never became too loud to hear each other. There are also nice TVs which displayed photos of the family. Although we used the space for a celebration of life, I can imagine it would be a good fit for all sorts of events, from corporate parties to just a chill hang out space when it's open to the public. It did get a little bit hot in the space as the event wore on, but it wasn't intolerable. The food and drinks were also quite tasty, especially for catered/buffet style food. There were pretzel bites and cheese dip and three different types of slider burgers: a standard/original burger, a taco burger, and an Impossible burger. The pretzel bites were crispy and buttery. I had a taco burger slider. It was a tiny bit dry but had a great flavor. The bartenders were great -- friendly, answering questions, working efficiently, and very kind to all the guests. Husband enjoyed the beers he tried and my mom and I both ordered the "Cranberry Crush," which was a yummy (and strong!) cocktail that was bright and perfectly sweet. They also serve mocktails, which I love! Glad to include folks who are sober. Thanks, 4 Hands, for creating a welcoming and comfortable space for us!
