Stopped in for a cold beer and a quick bite after dropping my wife off at the airport. I want to call out the staff... They are awesome! Very friendly, very helpful with really good service timing. The atmosphere is open and welcoming, with a sports bar vibe. I bellied up to the bar and felt right at home. Started with an Irish Style Extra Stout, which was a delicious beer. They had a pizza special on this day which was a chicken/bacon hot honey flatbread. Crust was baked perfectly. It was crisp, slightly smoky and not overworked as it ate very light with an easy chew. I really do enjoy Schlafly so much and think it's time to write an updated review. I have visited so many times for drinks, meals and events they host. You can't go wrong if you want to spend your day here with friends enjoying some beer and tasty good. Or you can visit whenever there is an event going on since they host so many of them every year. My personal favorite is when they host Art Outside! It's always a lovely weekend event where you can browse art tents and purchase from local vendors while also drinking a beer. I went over the summer with a few people and we had a great time sitting on the patio listening to some music while enjoying summer ale. Just recently, I went on a Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday! We arrived and were able to get seated in the bar area. Ordered some drinks and an order of pretzels as an app. They have changed their food menu over the years, so it's a little smaller than it has been, but they still offer some tasty food items. I do miss the turkey burger and hope they can bring it back one day, but other items on the menu are good too. Since it was my birthday, I was able to enjoy a free dessert and since I have never tried the sticky toffee pudding, that is what we ordered. I had no idea what to expect, but when it arrived, I was delighted to see that it was like a slice of cake and tons of melted toffee and some whipped cream. They also added a candle since it was my birthday, which was so fun! Super cool place. We came on a very rainy summer afternoon, so it wasn't too crowded. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered a ton of food amongst our party and everyone loved what they got. We got the charcuterie board and beer cheese soup, both of which were outstanding. We wound up making our way out to the huge covered patio, where the servers were so kind to serve us. Patio beers for the win! We popped into Schlafly on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy the warm weather and soak in the almost fall vibes. It was the beginning of pumpkin beer season so that was the definite go to. I really enjoy their fall beers, and they're generally pretty affordable. There's tons of seating outside, and the inside has tons of Schlafly merch and items on display which is pretty cool. Having fresh beer to buy and take home is a nice asset to have. We've been going to Schlafly Bottleworks since it opened. We've been doing Friday Happy Hour for over 40 years. Yesterday (Friday 24 April, 2026) was not a good experience. First we were refused outdoor seating - had 10 people and wanted to put a few tables together. The hostess said no. Mind you this was at 4:00pm, only a few people were outside. So we went inside, couldn't sit in the bar, those were reserved, however, the place was EMPTY. So we sat at a long table. No waitress, but the bartender was able to bring us our order, which was nice. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, it was sloppily put together and hardly any corned beef, which was tough. Good thing the Kolsch beer was good, otherwise it would have gone from bad to worse. Usually, their food is good, mine wasn't yesterday. A generous 2 stars were given, probably be a while before we go back. read more

We were also greeted by a kind staff member ready to take us to our table. We chose to sit outside. As we walked outside, we saw the modern industrial atmosphere of the brewery. They were playing 80s rock music outside on the patio. The patio was not too crowded for this Thursday lunch spot. The Shorty's Lager was ice cold and refreshing. I ordered a Schlafly Smash with House BW Sauce. After we ordered, we tried to give the menus to the waiters. But she said keep them on the table. An interesting new policy compared to other restaurants and what they had before. Anyways, the patty in my burger was juicy, the sauce was delicious, the cheese was probably processed but creamy, and the bun was fluffy. Love their large covered patio esp on a cool evening. A group of us enjoyed a dinner there. Although I am not much of a beer drinker I decided I would try one of their pumpkin beers. I actually really liked the vanilla pumpkin. (If you like IPAs you wouldn't like it). I go for the beers with low bitters which is why I liked the vanilla pumpkin. I had trouble deciding on dinner so went the easy route with soup and salad. I got house salad and added grilled chicken. It was large and delicious. White balsamic dressing they served with it was spot on. Soup was tomato basil which was okay but I do think beer cheese soup might be better. It has been 14 years since my last review and I am embarrassed that I haven't done an update until now. I've been numerous times and my most recent visit was so stellar, I knew I had to do an update. I meet a friend for lunch and we were both impressed with our food and service. We both ordered their Chicken Wings. They come 1 lb. to an order. I liked that they make sure that the number of flats and drums, match. The pieces were huge, and prepared extra crispy. I had my Buffalo Sauce on the side for dipping. The wings themselves were so flavorful, I really didn't need to dip that much. My beverage of choice was their, White Lager. It's one of my favorites. I loved how they served it in a, Wiezen glass. We kinda blew our low-carb diets, by ordering the Sticky Toffee Pudding. We shared one order, which actually could be shared by four. Yes, it is that large of a serving. This was not my first visit at this Schlafly location. One of our favorite places to meet up with friends. We had a large party on a Saturday night, so we made reservations. We came here for dinner and there was an after party for a kids soccer game going on which was fun to see but also made things extra busy and loud. I ordered the shrimp linguine and tried some of the fish and chips. The shrimp linguine was delicious and filling as it comes in a large bowl. I did not like how small the shrimp were. At first I thought they ran out of the bigger shrimp and just used the po-boy shrimp instead but maybe that's just how it's done, it's a "special" after all. The hefenweizen breading on the fish is delicious. I also tried the coleslaw but it tasted like vodka, i think it was bad. We mentioned it to service, they took it but didnt offer anything. We went on Presidents Day and they were very understaffed. 1 person was the bartender/waitress and another hostess/expediter. I don't think they expected to be as busy as they were. We are always coming back month after month, a regular spot we keep on rotation. Schlafly is wonderful for a laid back dinner on the huge covered patio or inside at the bar with plenty of tvs. Obviously known for beer but also have a full bar for nonbeer drinkers. We love their pretzels, tacos, smash burger and wraps. One thing i love in particular is they will turn any of their salads in to a wrap. We've made our way through the menu over the years and can confidently say everything is great. The staff is always friendly and efficient. My wife, mother in law and friend went to an afternoon at the Zoo and then stopped by Schafly Bottleworks for drinks and dinner. We asked ot be seated on the patio because it was a great afternoon weather wise. We had a 5 minute wait and stopped by the bar inside and tasted some of their beers. They had many good choices. We were quickly seeted on the covered patio and ordered beers and wings as appetizers. The wings were so good that we ordered a second order of them. We then ordered a bottle burger and two pizzas. The burger was excellent and cooked perfectly with lots of pink. The two pizzas were excellent too. The outdoor patio was great with plenty of room for us and a nice breeze. My family was having a great time at this restaurant until a hostess came out to our table and berated us about moving tables. We explained that a 5 year old child had choked on some ice and threw up and we needed to move tables. The hostess went on a long tirade about how we needed to let them know about moving tables and stayed quote "don't ever do that again" "this isn't monopoly tables." What an absolute bizarre way to handle a non issue. The table we moved to had been empty and there were multiple other open tables outside. Someone from my party went to speak to a manager and was also spoken to in a demeaning condescending way. Then I went to speak with the manager who continued to triple down at that point to say the hostess is a really good person and excusing this horrible behavior. Then the hostess came barging in to say "I was doing my job" My family loved to walk to this restaurant and enjoy the outdoor patio along with the mediocre beer and food because of the location. We will never return here and this restaurant will absolutely lose more customers due to this server and manager. Came here on a Friday evening. We made a reservation, as we had a party of 10. We actually arrived maybe 30 minutes early, but they had already set up the table. Due to this, we were ready to order food and drinks together. She got all that in right away and drinks came out pretty quick. I got the cold IPA, which was ok. Everyone's food came out pretty staggered. I ordered the Chicken Philly and house chips. I would say it was ok, but nothing special. There was a lot of bread and cheese, but not a lot of chicken and veggies. My husband felt similar about his food and beer - just ok. It's a cool spot overall, and great for big groups. They have a ton of space, games, etc. Food, beer, and service was just ok though. We felt like when we were done, we were rushed out even though there wasn't anyone waiting and several tables open throughout.
