    The story behind the legend!

If you're a fan of taxidermy, antiques, oddities or something unique this place is second to none! It feels like a natural history museum that you get to drink beer at! They have a good craft beer selection and even offer a house Hazy IPA, which you don't see very often! My bartender was very friendly and welcoming. The food was elevated and creative bar food with fun specials and unique flavor combinations. Even if you don't stop by to eat or drink this place is worth stopping by just for the ambiance and the history on the walls!

The atmosphere was pretty cool, ran into an acquaintance and people passed the vibe check. The waiter took out order fast, we ordered one drink, one appetizer, and one entree. The drink was good. Appetizer and entree was not hot, just warm. It tasted like it was pre cooked and warmed up to serve. We didn't realize the kitchen was close to close, so that may have been it. Food flavor was decent. Would go for drinks again. Maybe I'll try again earlier in the day to see if the quality of the food is better. All in all, not bad

I love me some, Golden Hoosier. They never disappoint me. They've got their A-Game going for both cocktails and food. For me, they definitely are the King of Happy Hours. Being retired and a day drinker, I appreciate the 11 AM till 6 PM time frame for HH. It lets me day drink and enjoy lunch all at the same time. A recent visit I tried the Steak Bites with a side of Skinny Fries. My friend who was eating low-carb, enjoyed a Wedge Salad with Steak. Both of us enjoyed our meal. Another visit, I tried a different Smash Burger than what I normally enjoy and may have a new favorite. The Bacon Jam, with a fried onion, bacon jam and sharp cheddar cheese is now my Blue Ribbon winner. During the cold months, I like being able to hang a coat on the hooks positioned under the bar. It makes life so much easier. They are also great for ladies to safely secure their purses. As warmer weather approaches, I'm looking forward to bringing my four legged children to enjoy the dog friendly patio. Bartenders and wait staff get two thumbs up. They always make guest feel welcomed.

My first time here and I wasn't totally disappointed. The food was good. American dishes. Ok happy hour menu which was basically $1 off regular priced items. I've had better happy hours. There's an outdoor, camping themed deck that was cool. Gold silverware to eat with. Service was speedy. I was actually surprised how fast the food arrived after ordering. Located on busy S Kingshighway, so not much front street parking. There is a lot in the back though.

I'm not a big cheeseburger person but this day, I had a craving and wanted to find a new spot. The Golden Hoosier had a lot of positive reviews about their burgers and decided to give them a try. As we were waking up, a guy coming out told us they have the best burgers, haha. We came in and they took our phone number down to be added to the waitlist. It took about 20 minutes for our table. It was a nice evening so we walked a bit just to see what else was in the area. Once they texted us about our table, we sat in a section close to the front window. It was very loud. The decor was cool. Lots of animals on the wall. Our waitress was nice and she had the entire section where we were seated. She managed everything very well. The food - I've of the best burgers I've ever eaten. I'm still thinking about how good that burger was. Crispy edges from the smash patty, buns were toasted just right. I even kept it simple with OLT and still very delicious. Hubby asked the server what she recommended and she said the Jam burger. He enjoyed his burger as well. The fries were good, just got cold too quickly. The first few were hot then it's like they cooled all the way down. Some fries were too crunchy. Not like the golden crisp crunch, more like the over cooked crunchy. The cold and well done fries are the reason for the 4 stars but we would definitely return to try other menu items.

A man definitely decorated this place with the painting of a guy on a float trip and the walls covered with animal heads. There is not a lack of things to look at here. The big half circle booths are comfortable and spacious. They have a great happy hour menu weekday 11a-6p offering $6 snacks, $2 Busch, $6 cocktails, and $6 wine. The food and service was great. Bees Knees $6 happy hour price - Nicely made! Pretzel Bites with hot mustard $6.50 - Comes with cheese dip and you can add on the hot mustard. Fried Fish Sandwich $18 - Tasted much healthier than a filet-o-fish. The side of accompanying fries was huge. Hoosier Burger $17 - Upgrade side to caesar salad for $1 extra. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

This place is so, so cool. My cousin took me out for dinner and I had never even heard of this spot. Wow, it's such a beautiful and moody spot full of charm!! We had to wait 15 minutes for a booth but I didn't mind because this place serves LOOKS. The decor was awesome! Everything from the stellar service, crispy and lacey smash burgers and gorgeous dining room(s) made me realize why this spot is always recommended to me. We were very happy with our food and it was under $50 for two people! Check out Golden Hoosier, you won't regret it.

First time to the Golden Hoosier!!! This place is like a Taxadermy Speakeasy!!! I loved the Bar!!! Great Happy Hour Specials!!!! We waited for about 25 minutes for a table as there is only about 8 in the restaurant part. The place is very eclectic in design. Our Server was good but busy!!! They have mostly Burgers and Sandwiches!! The Melt was good but could use more dressing. They did split the meal for my husband and I. My brother got the Chicken Buffalo sandwich and my sister in law got the Bacon Jam Burger.. they both liked it!!! The Parm Rosemary Fries very so good especially with the homemade Ranch dipping sauce!! I will definitely go back!! Hard Pass: Tomato Soup. Very thick and like eating spaghetti sauce Note: if you don't like Taxadermy then this place is not for you.... Especially the domestic ones at the end of the Bar.. I like to think they were beloved pets..

As good as I hoped. Darkly inviting bar, with apps and burgers, good beer and wine selection, and amazing cocktails. Interesting paintings. Apps for our group included the smoked tandoori wings (good smoked flavor, meaty, tender, excellent tandoori flavor), queso dip (even cheese flavor, good amount of seasoning), onion dip (fantastic), Parmesan rosemary fried (crisp, plump, good seasoning). Our group had burgers, all good. I had the turkey burger, good size, juicy, perhaps one of the best turkey burgers I've had. Cocktails were all excellent, specifically the old fashions I had. Service was excellent, very attentive, and drinks were filled quickly. They have happy hour which I missed, will try to get to next time. Also a campground themed seating area outside, which I'll try next time. Parking is available at a parking lot across the street. Don't be deterred by the taxidermy, they are hung pretty high up on the walls, so you won't be staring at them if it's not your thing; they are all antique, their website has the story behind each.

We'd been recommended Golden Hoosier for awhile and finally found a time to go. I loved the vibes immediately after walking in- it's nice to find a local establishment with charm. I guess some may find the taxidermied animals a bit much... but I appreciated the quirkiness. The patio has a fun "campground" feel to its decor, and even though it was a busy Saturday night, they cleared a table for us out there as soon as we arrived. I loved the flavor of all the food. The queso dip was a nice starter, but when the burgers arrived quickly after we realized we could've gone without it. I love a BBQ burger so the "Wrangler" it was for me. The soft cheddar and their bourbon BBQ sauce are a match made in heaven. I will say despite the food coming out quick, it all was a bit lukewarm- not sure how, but it's not like it stopped us from devouring our meals. Hope to be back soon and sit inside to see what else they've got on their walls.

I visited again, this time on a busy Saturday during Mardi Gras weekend. It was extremely busy but we were able to get seated right away at the bar. The decor is super cute - goth and taxidermy. The service by the bar tenders was absolutely out of this world. They came by to check on us multiple times, bringing water, food and drinks. I was extremely impressed by our bartender's familiarity with the allergens in the meals (I have Celiac and my boyfriend has wheat/milk allergies). The food and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Food was delivered to us but I will say it was still hot and the French fries still had a crunch to them. All the condiments were packed nicely to the side so nothing got soggy. We both loved our burgers... one of the best smash burgers I've eaten in a while. I would eat here again just for their burgers. The had lots of flavor.

The bouncer was super nice and he actually walked me all the way in. our waitress was also very nice and attentive. It was not busy when we were there and we had reservations for a group of six, which is apparently the most you can have on a reservation. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday and everyone got a variety of drinks from the cocktail menu. I got their version of the whiskey sour with the cherry froth on top and it was so good. The waitress said it is the most popular and I can see why I really enjoyed it and would've ordered more if it wasn't so expensive for one drink the table, got a variety of the small bites such as the cheese and the Barada. They also got some bread which looked awesome. I did not try personally, but it looked very impressive. the atmosphere is dark and mysterious. It smelled good and felt fancy. The decor is very tasteful and makes you feel like you are truly in a speakeasy. The location is outstanding with it being near the foundry. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink, this is definitely a fun stop however, don't expect a full meal. Overall would be back!

We showed up without a reservation, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend. We were initially told the wait would probably be around an hour and a half, so reservations are definitely a good idea. Somehow, we got super lucky and received a text that they were ready for us only about 10 or 15 minutes later. We ended up sitting at the bar, which honestly made the experience even better. If you enjoy watching bartenders work their magic, I highly recommend sitting there if you get the chance. The cocktails here are unlike anything we've had before, and it was so much fun watching all the different drinks being made and seeing the creativity that goes into each one. Our bartender, John, was amazing. He was incredibly personable, answered all of our questions, and was genuinely enjoyable to talk to throughout the evening. Between the two of us, we tried four cocktails. I started with the Linea Uno and asked John if he could make it less bitter after the woman sitting next to me mentioned that was an option. It was delicious, although I apparently didn't pay enough attention to the menu when ordering because it was tequila-based, and tequila normally isn't my first choice. The Trade Winds was one of the coolest drinks of the night, made with clarified rum, apricot, and coconut and topped with mango air. The mango air literally looked like bubbles but smelled like mango. Such a unique presentation, and the drink itself was really enjoyable. My husband tried the New York Whiskey Sour, made with clarified whiskey, yuzu, tart cherry, and black lime cordial with a red wine foam. Again, the presentation was beautiful, and it tasted just as good as it looked. My personal favorite was Ankra's Passion Fruit Martini, made with vodka, vanilla, passion fruit, lime, and bubbles. It came with a small glass of champagne on the side, which was a really nice touch. John mentioned that I could drink the champagne separately or add it to the martini as I went. I ended up pouring some into the cocktail, and for me, it balanced out the sweetness of the passion fruit perfectly. The entire speakeasy experience was just fun, from trying to find the entrance to making our way inside and finally settling in at the bar. We took plenty of pictures and videos along the way, but I'm intentionally not posting most of them because I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone visiting for the first time. I will share a picture of the red light you need to look for at The Foundry since we initially had a little trouble figuring out where to go, along with some photos of our drinks. The rest of the journey inside is something I think you should experience for yourself. Creative cocktails, beautiful presentations, a genuinely fun atmosphere, and fantastic service from John made this an easy five-star experience for us. If you're visiting The Foundry and enjoy unique cocktails and hidden speakeasies, None of the Above is absolutely worth finding. Just learn from us and make a reservation. We got very lucky!

At my big age, difficult parking situations are a turn off and I will go home if I can't get reasonable parking. I was able to snag a space in the lot and headed in. The space is a bit dark with rich sage, brass, and terracotta. There are several hanging plants making it an inviting place. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating and cozy tables if you decide to bring some friends. Caleb was our server during our visit. He was an absolute delight. He made excellent cocktail suggestions. He looked after our group without being overly doting. Just a gem of a human. We tried approximately 9 cocktails during our visit. Did I mention we were at brunch! I highly recommend the peach bite and the Side Car. Every cocktail is thoughtfully made and well executed. They offer a small brunch menu along with the regular menu. I usually always get chilaquiles when they are available. But today the ruby trout and grits sounded perfect. This dish was amazing!! The trout was thin with crispy skin. The grits were creamy and delicious. The dish is topped with a house made radish pico and salsa macha. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was paired with the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The burger and fries are also a good option. The seasoning on the fries is next level. The brunch menu has a sticky toffee roll that is a perfect size for sharing or not. Salty sweet fork tender cinnamon roll. Lastly, the deviled eggs were a group favorite. I am a big fan of Passenger Chili Crisp. If you are unfamiliar please look them up! It's hands down the best chili crisp I've ever had. It's locally made here in STL and can also be found in several dishes at restaurants around town. The eggs were creamy with the right amount of tang from the mustard. The chili crisp made these deviled eggs easily top five best I've ever had! Planning to stop in again soon for happy hour with more friends

The bartenders are also very friendly and knowledgeable; I enjoy seeing the community they've created among regulars and I've learned a bit more about different beer styles and their serving methods on my stops in. I've personally recommended Little Lager to friends and coworkers, but there are a few things to keep in mind: the small space is not the best for a group happy hours, there isn't a kitchen to serve food (though they do allow outside food) , and there are very few options for non-beer drinkers (outside of a few packaged ciders, wines, and different ways to experience Chicago's infamous Malort). Beyond that, it's a laid-back spot to visit with one or two friends after work or to experience their regular collaborations with local breweries like Perennial and 2nd Shift. I've been a fan since my first visit, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
