Raman is the man! We had a power outage in our neighborhood and the garage door just crapped out. I tried new batteries, outside key panel (which also happened to be broken) and keyless fob. None worked. Anyway, I used Yelp's request a quote feature and Raman got back to me very quickly, answered some questions over email and offered to come out that afternoon. I couldn't be there, but my wife was and said Raman was on time, friendly, and showed her how to reset the main unit in the garage. That was basically all that was needed and he said it's common this happens sometimes after a power outage. He left instructions, his number and also offered to order us a new keypad for the front entrance since that completely crapped out, but he didn't push it on anyone. He usually has the keypad for Genie garage door openers in his van, but was out so he just said to let him know if we ever want it fixed and he'll be glad to come back out. The whole thing was under $100, I believe he's based in San Pablo, so luckily we are just over the Richmond bridge. Regardless, his rates were standard with other folks, and he was the most responsive. Couple other people just never even wrote me back after they asked me questions, so that was bizarre. I called Raman 30 min after he was open on a weekday cause my garage door was no longer aligned properly and seemed to be stuck slightly open. He came as soon as I was free at /pm and fixed my door very quick w/o having to trouble shoot the issue. I was charged $85 which I believe was a very good price for me, I thought I was going to spend much more. He's very kind and knowledgeable in his profession. Raman is the best around! I called, and left a message early in the morning in need for a double door spring replacement. He called me back within 15 minutes and even set me up with a same day appointment!! To top things off I was about 10minutes late for my appointment at my own home, and he was kind enough to wait for me outside. He did a quick inspection of the damage done to my garage and told me that everything looks like it's still in good shape and that all I needed was a spring replacement. No haggling "upsale" pitch to get me to spend more money, just honest straight to the point work. He got started on my garage and finished up within 30 minutes! Recently my garage door needed repair. I had anticipated it being a pretty large job as a few people had suggested "what might be wrong with it'....I looked up a random name in the newspaper. A gentleman named Raman arrived, looked at it and suggested it needed a single wire that had been broken/cut. He clearly was not out to rip me off or make extra money. He was quick, a gentleman and extreme;ly reasonable in the price, putting it mildly. I scheduled a repair for my door that had come off its track and lost tension on the spring. Although Raman came a bit late, he made up for this by getting right to work and efficiently rewound the spring and adjusted the cables and track. The result was great and he also answered all my questions with clarity, including advising about proper methods for lubricating the tracks. Raman renews my belief in the goodness of people. He is the best. Our garage was erratically opening and closing. I called him a bit after his business closed, yet he picked up and said he'd be over within minutes. And he was! Raman was really quick to respond to my call on a Saturday, when most other companies are either closed or did not return my call. The gear on my garage door opener broke and, since I was leaving for vacation in a few days, I needed to get it repaired as soon as possible. Normally I called Abe at ABC in SF but I guess he has directed all his East Bay service to Raman at Alpha Garage Door now. Raman was available readily when I called and came over the next day which was fine since it was not an emergency. He identified and fixed the issue with our garage door easily and made it so we'd never have the problem again. The door was getting stuck on the sensor which had moved out of place. When I asked about a possible replacement door, he honestly told me that I had a good 6 months to a year on the current door after he adjusted it for us.
