I just had floors installed by George Babb Flooring and they turned out beautifully and it was a very pleasant learning experience working with the father and son team. They are knowledgeable, trustworthy, reliable and the price was fair. I cannot say enough about the craftsmanship, they put their hearts into their business and what they do. There were a few unexpected bumps with my subflooring that they had to replace a section from water damage and level a section of concrete, but because of their expertise it barely even slowed the project and they charged me very fairly for the extra work. I highly recommend George Babb flooring and cannot thank them enough for turning my very ugly floors into absolutely beautiful new ones. I also appreciate that they brought me floor samples to pick from that matched my taste and is a very durable high quality product. I cannot thank you enough George Jr. and Sr. Mad respect and love for what you did to make my house look 1000 times better and for holding my hand through this huge project. I hope to need your services again in the future and will highly recommend you to anyone I know that needs flooring. Sincerely, Malia

George Babb Jr laid 1/4" plywood, eliminated squeaks, then installed modern wood laminate flooring, baseboards, and matching thresholds.

My experience with George Babb and his son, George Babb Jr., involved working on installing laminate flooring and baseboards in a duplex owned by my mom, which she wanted to get ready to sell in Enumclaw, WA. I am a licensed professional real estate professional in Kansas, so I traveled up to help my mom navigate the details and work on flipping these units. As a Realtor and a homeowner, I have dealt with many contractors--so let me tell you, this experience working with George Babb and his son was THE VERY BEST experience I have EVER had in dealing with contractors. Their attention to detail, from quote to install to clean-up, was the most exceptional I have ever experienced. The job spanned 10 days, and the end result was stunning! They were considerate even when they had to work around another contractor installing counter tops, and were flexible when needed. They hauled away all debris and stacked their tools and materials neatly at end of each day. Their work ethic was the best I have ever seen, showing up early and working hard all day, every day, completing the job to fit our timeline. George and George also went above and beyond, noticing that the guys who delivered the appliances had not left room for the counter guy to install edge trim, so George cut carpet strips to fit under the new oven feet so when the counter guy needed to move the range, it would be easy to slide out without damaging the new flooring. That attention to detail and care for my mom's property amazed me, and shows how much they care about not only their work but also their clients! I whole-heartedly recommend George Babb Flooring. They know and can recommend great flooring products, they give exceptional service during install, and they stand behind their work. Don't call anyone else, these guys are the best.

We now have a beautiful living room floor!

We have a baby, and wanted to change the floors of a house we bought for durability and aesthetics before moving in. There were also a number of creaks in our floors, and we wanted to get them fixed. Erik's team was able to take off the carpet and existing pine hardwood, level the floor, and install the laminate we picked out. His team came at 8am every morning and they finished by evening when we came back. We did this before we moved into our new house, and we love the way our house looks and feels now. Erik (the owner) was the first to come do the consultation, he was quick, and to me he felt very trustworthy from the beginning. He was also communicative throughout the whole process - often on the over-detailed side. And among the other offers, his was reasonable in price (compared to others) and according to our quick timeline. That said, when you get work done you may come across hurdles and it's important you get alternate opinions. As first time homeowners, we assumed that getting flooring done is straightforward. Apparently it's not. We were warned that the initial quote may be affected by the state of our subfloors once they take out the existing flooring. We got an urgent call saying that there was a lot more unevenness in our floors than expected, and that they would have to pour self leveling throughout the entire house, which was a quote of 90 bags, at $150 each. We were told that was the only option, and were strongly encouraged to go this route to make our timeline. After getting evaluations from multiple other flooring experts, we got alternate advice for up to 12 bags of self leveling, max. Our home is only 10yrs old. 90 bags of self leveling is enough for an entire apartment building, and weighs over 2 tons. Apparently the only way to guarantee absolute evenness is if you just pour self leveling on the entire floor, and also easier for the workers. But we opted for the labor-intensive (but more cost effective) way of going through the whole house measuring each high point & low point, sanding down the high points, and only pouring in the patches at the low points. Needless to say, we rejected the proposed approach and Erik's team was able to handle the uneven subfloors with only 3 bags. Three. Unfortunately, this issue resulted in several days delay in the completion of our project, not to mention a lot of additional stress. We wish this hurdle had not happened. That said, we are proud to have not caved under urgency and stress - it would have cost us 13.5K! That said, after consulting quite a few flooring companies - I noticed that each will use different numbers for labor, materials, demo, etc. They also suggest different approaches like keeping quarter rounds on baseboards or ripping them off and attaching new ones. Adding transitions as an additional cost or not, etc etc. Get as many quotes as you can so you understand what is the average price you should expect to pay - they may charge differently, but at the end of the day they have to meet their numbers to pay their guys and still make a profit. Flooring costs more than I expected, and most of the quotes I got were 14-20K for 2 story house around 2000sq ft. (Bathrooms excluded). At the end of the day, we love our new floors. Erik was extremely communicative through the whole process. His team was hardworking, and finished the work before we had to leave on a trip. They were detailed for the part of the floor which met the fireplace, making sure it was flush against the uneven hearth tile. There are barely any squeaks left in the house. They came and resolved any concerns we had. They were flexible with movers coming as they were finishing the last day. All in all, although there was a hiccup in the process, we did have a very good experience with Erik and his team. And, I'm confident he will recommend the spot patching method for leveling the floor for future clients. Thank you for making our floors one of my favorite parts of the house now, Hardwood Plus!

When I sought estimates for this carpet replacement project on Yelp, Hardwood Plus was the first and fastest reply. Erik showed up on time and quickly gathered the information he needed while explaining some of the things that could go wrong, like leveling issues or finding something unexpected beneath the old carpet. He promptly provided a quote, and kept in touch via text message (a huge perk for phone call-averse people like me). When we visited the showroom to pick out the carpet and sheet vinyl pattern, it came as a relief that Erik was not interested in upselling - he'd present options, explain the pros and cons of each, and trusted us to make our own decisions. The first issue occurred on the installation day, when Erik messaged me to say the carpet had not arrived yet. He was apologetic and explained what had happened, but we would still have to wait another week for it to arrive. The second issue occurred after his team removed my old carpet: they found the tiles underneath contained asbestos and needed to be sealed, for an additional cost. This added another day to the sheet vinyl install, but this was a possibility he had mentioned early on. The team also accidentally broke my dryer vent, but Erik agreed to fix it with absolutely no fuss. Finally, there were a few little bubbles in the sheet vinyl I had to push out. But now that it's all done, I am absolutely over the moon with how great my new floor looks, and how delightfully plush the new carpet on the stairs and guest room is! Hardwood Plus is communicative, professional, friendly, honest, diligent, and timely. They do great work, take responsibility, and ensure your satisfaction. I can't recommend them enough.
