His bid was way cheaper than the other ones I received so I went ahead and scheduled with him. The job involved refinishing 100+ year old fir floors upstairs and taking out tile and replacing it with hardwood to match the rest of the house -- he finished today and I am very satisfied with the quality of his work and, more importantly, how my new floors look. I wouldn't call him "chatty," but he's an excellent communicator via texts and kept me apprised from start to finish. I also want to add that he's one of the hardest workers I've met -- he showed up on time and didn't leave until after 7 on the days he worked, barely taking any breaks. In the middle of the job his employee quit, which meant he had to finish on his own. He still got the job done on time (minus the delays caused by the hardwood floor supplier -- not his fault).
