I had the pleasure of experiencing ALPHA II OMEGA on yesterday and WOW.... They have EVERYTHING!!! I was totally intrigued. I am not Greek but was shopping for my daughters probate gifts. There were so, so many options I didn't know what not to buy. Richard greeted us at the door to make sure we knew the store closed at 7pm. (I got there after 6). At first I kinda frowned like "I can read the sign on the door". But after I started browsing I understood why. There was just not enough time to view everything and make a decision. Needless to say I only purchased a gorgeous bag and 2 small items. I called my hubby from the store and told him we have to come back. OMG the owner ~I think~Jackie was not only friendly and gorgeous but very helpful with helping me understand the process. Listen at this you'll. Jackie gave me a gift to give to my daughter. NOW THAT TOPPED IT OFF. I'm on my way back tonight to get that jacket. read more

Horrible!!!!!! Customer service sucks, no follow-through on orders or request for merchandise. When you do re-inquire (because they didn't return your call the first time) the lady that answers the phone has a serious attitude. Perhaps if you only want what they have in-stock in front of your (no additional sizes or custom) it may be ok service. Hopefully other stores will open that sell similar merchandise and they will then treat their customers like they matter because now they don't! Won't be patronizing them again, would rather order on the internet and wait than experience their service again! read more

Return/Exchange policy sucks. I received a ton of gifts recently including 4-5 of the same item. Unfortunately most people did not give me their receipt nor a gift receipt. They did not put their names on the gifts neither. I tried to exchange some of the items here as the items had their price tag on them. I was told by Rachel that unless I had a receipt or knew who purchased the items I could not exchange them. I really try to support small businesses but customer service is paramount. New members of sororities tend to spend lots of money on paraphernalia, mine won't be spent here. read more

I am from NJ, and I visit this shop annually when I visit my mom in Chicago. Although it is small, it is well organized with Greek apparel, as well as apparel for Eastern Stars and Masons. They also have career and household-related girders, as well. My experience with customer service has always been great, contrary to some of the reviews I've already read. read more

I have gone to Greek stores searching for items to purchase for fellow Sorors. This store is amazing. I've purchased many items for my matron and fellow Sistars of O.E.S. Since my daughters' probate Feb. 2014 my family and I have found Alpha II Omega to be the best Greek Store in Chicago (Beverly) to purchase gifts, T's, Hoodies, workout pari, pictures etc. The tall guy provides the best customer assistance; he can reach everything up high. The customer service here at Alpha II Omega is honestly the worst I have ever experienced in any retail establishment. My girlfriend purchased a Kappa track jacket from this store in March however when she gave it to me it was indeed too small so we decided to return to the store that same day and exchange it for a bigger size. Upon inspection they did not have a larger size and we were told that they would order one for me and give us a call when it arrived. It is now June and I have yet to hear anything from them. I have emailed, called, and left messages to the store but nothing has been resolved. I've only had someone answer the phone one time and the employee had no recollection of my purchase nor of any order that had been placed. He told me he would get to the bottom of the issue and call me back no later than the next day but of course he did not. I am hugely disappointed with the service that this establishment provides and will honestly never shop here again. I encourage everyone to stay away from here and do your shopping at Nubian Nation or purchase your item online. I will not stop trying to get in contact with this place until I am given a full refund of my money as I no longer want the merchandise. It is simply ridiculous to have a customer waiting months for an item that they've paid for and not even try to get in contact with them. My next step will be to go to the store and voice my concerns in person. Hopefully this will solve my issues. read more

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone attempts to justify mediocrity. I went to Alpha2Omega to purchase DST greek apparel. When I asked the sales clerk to see if they had any DST water bottles in the back, he stated that he would check. Upon his return, I asked him was he able to find anything, to which he replied, "Oh, I forgot. I went to the restroom." He walked away again, came back five seconds later and said they didn't have anything in the back. It was clear that he didn't even look. When I checked out, I mentioned to the clerk that their selections were limited. She stated that they would have stuff on the floor tomorrow. Hello? I'm here NOW! She went on to explain that staff was limited which made restocking the shelevs challenging. Yada, yada yada. Save your gas, money, and time. Shop on amazon.com. read more

I had the absolute worst experience in this store. I shop here every year spending no less than $200 on merchandise. I've been coming to this store for the past nine years. This year I was greeted nicely as usual, and helped by a very nice young woman. She even gave me something I normally would not have picked out. As I'm walking around looking for more items (because I have several members of the Divine 9 to shop for), I was asked no less than 3 times to put my items on the shelf. Another employee was even warned to watch me. After the final employee asked me to put my items at the front I was finally so disgusted that I gave everything to the woman and left. After leaving and calling to give a complaint, the manager did not care. I would never go to this store. The items are cheap, and often break. Trying to support a black owned business should not be so difficult. read more

@ Beuloria W. I disagree that I was angry as you assert in your 10/31/15 post. I simply suggested that customers learn from my mistake, and research their purchase before buying items at a higher cost. I do not own a pair of Jordan's nor a $2500 handbag, but should I find myself in the market for such, I will definitely do my research as you suggest. I work hard for my income, as I'm sure you do as well, and I am not inclined to spend 70% more for an item if it can be acquired for less. Fair pricing is what the dispute is regarding. Just because an item is offered online, does not automatically mean the establishment is not brick and mortar(B&M). There are numerous B&M shops that utilize online services, be it minority owned or not. Nubian Nation, a minority owned business on Vincennes, carries many of the same items at a far lower cost. I'm sure his overhead is equal to, if not much higher, as this is a standalone building with more square footage than Alpha to Omega(A2O). Although price matching is not posted, when asked, he stated he would work with the customer to make the deal a fair exchange for both. Again, as stated in my previous post, I was at an out of state conference where A2O had a table set up. The opportunity to do "Legwork" was not available. I was assured by the vendor that this was a sale price, offered for less than what was available in the store, because I inquired if the item could be purchased at the store, so that I would not have to carry it through the conference. As price is a deciding factor in my purchases, I will do my due diligence before purchasing in the future. I suggest you do the same, or just pay $2500 for that LV handbag that you could've acquired for $1750! read more

I can't begin to say how much I absolutely love this store! I have visited this store four times in total. The first time I came along with my daughter who was shopping for a gift for her friend's probate. I was very impressed by the selection of items available. I came back a couple of times when my daughter was getting ready for her own probate to buy her gifts a couple of months ago. My latest visit was today. EVERY time that I've come in, the staff has been extremely welcoming and helpful. Would I recommend this store to anyone else? In a heartbeat! Keep up the good work! read more

It is Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at 1pm and they are closed. I drove all the way over here and I am beyond pissed & disappointed. I even called in advance a few days ago to ensure they would be open this Saturday, and they said yes they would be. Yet they are CLOSED, lights off, and without a note on the door. I understand emergencies happen, I truly do, yet because this has happened to me before some years back, it makes me wonder if this is a trend. I can't spend my money where my time is not respected, not to mention I paid for street parking. So disheartening. read more

This is one of my favorite stores! It is much larger than it appears from the outside and it definitely is the largest Greek store in Chicago. What I really like about the store is that they not only sell things for my sorority, but I can get all kinds of cultural gifts as well. I've been shopping here for over 15 years. Everyone is friendly and helpful. When ever I need something for me or a soror I always shop here because they constantly have new merchandise and I can always find a nice selection of gifts and t-shirts for nurses too read more

I''m not sure of the last customer's experience, but i've been coming to this business for years and I have never, had a bad experience. The lady at the counter has always provided a warm and welcome greeting to me, and others that i've brought in with me. The entire Divine Nine collection is well represented. I cant leave there empty handed. She continues to bring in quality products that are unique and what I consider affordable. This is one of those businesses that I fully support and it is appreciated. There are about three other younger employees, but they are willing to assist you as well. If I had any issue at all, it would be with the size of the business. There is not enough room for her to completely lay it out for everyone, but she's done the best she cans with the room she has...I will return all the way from Washington, DC, and I stop by every time I come home to the Chi.... Excellent store for African American Greek Apparel

I am a long-time customer of Alpha II Omega and I am quite surprised by the comments of one of the reviewers where the gentleman was angry that the store did not price match an item. Stores are not obligated to price match. Stores that do this are usually larger retail chains (i.e. Best Buy, WalMart, Target, etc.). A small business such as Alpha II Omega does not have the benefit of spreading overhead cost over many locations so this makes price matching very difficult for small businesses to do. Also, he mentions that he saw the product online at a cheaper price. Everyone knows that overhead for an online shop is much lower than that of a brick-and-mortar store. I am certain that the pricing structure at Alpha II Omega is not set up to "take advantage of customers" as this gentleman so hastily accuses. They have to charge the right price so that they can pay their the rent and their employees. Alpha II Omega has a 25-year track record of serving the community. Myself and the many other devoted customers will continue to support this amazing business. Also, if price is so important to this gentleman he should use his energy to do the legwork to find items that meet his price-point expectations and not bash a great business. It is interesting how people will not flinch in buying a $200 pair of Air Jordans or a $2500 hand bag but take issue with paying the right price for an item at a black-owned small business. The customer service in this establishment is horrible. They are all smiles when you are buying but don't return anything than the personality is totally disrespectful. I purchased a item 3 weeks before it broke, I took the item back the day after it broke and the woman acted like it was my fought....WHAT?? She suggested I purchased the item again (really- NO) the item should have been exchanged for a new one. No love lost WILL NOT BE BACK! read more

Today was my first time at Alpha II Omega. Upon entering, the staff immediately greeted me. The decor is very nice. I came in to purchase gifts for my Boyfriend who is an Alpha Phi Alpha. I didn't know what to get, but the staff was so helpful & friendly they recommended some really nice stuff. Great shopping experience. I'm not in an organization but I will be back to make some Cultural home decor purchases. read more
