Went to this particular location after going downtown on 27 W Jackson. Popcorn was horrible ( burnt) on Jackson. So glad I was in the neighborhood and decided to go to this one and the popcorn was so fresh! Service was fast and pleasant. The lady in the drive through was really nice and friendly. read more

Ordered a medium cheese and Carmel and the Carmel had the sharpest burnt taste you could imagine. I was so mad because I haven't had garrets in a while and this just ruined my whole experience. Definitely will not be going back to this location. And probably won't go to garrets for awhile. I'll stick to kernels all the way in Naperville for now. read more

The popcorn is delicious per usual but the staff's attitudes are horrible at this location both times I've been to this location. I briefly took my mask off on one side to adjust it and the lady rudely told me to put my mask back on. Now this wouldn't have bothered me had she not yelled it AND if her co-workers were following the same rule. One worker's mask was under his nose the entire time and another worker walked in maskless. Everytime I've gone to Garrett's I've had a very pleasant experience. This is a solid location as there is very rarely a line. The employees are super efficient and helpful. I normally get the Garrett's mix and call it a day. Parking is always super open as well. This is a leas busy location as it's more so on the outskirts. Will I be back here? Duh? read more

This popcorn is so good and addictive. I only stopped here because I was traveling to another state and my family wanted me to bring them some Garrett's popcorn. I've had it before but after it had been days old. It is delicious, fresh. People love this pop corn because it was about 25 people in line ahead of me. The great thing is the line moved pretty fast. I love Garrett's popcorn. I drive from the Southwest Suburbs to order for my family and me. What a HUGE disappointment today. I usually order all nuts in small, large, and jumbo. The cashier told me there was no almond popcorn it's available for the weekend only--weird, and added recently. So now I am paying the same price as if I have all nuts --it's not fair the prices should be adjusted. Here is another problem. The employees who filled my order didn't give me what I paid for. My bags were pretty skimpy. I ordered over $100 worth of popcorn. I'm not sure how or what the process is for making the popcorn with the nuts--in comparison to my previous visits am sure I was cheated, I don't know the reason why but this is my last time visiting this particular location. We have seen imitators and many other brands and companies attempt to duplicate the Chicago mix of cheese and carmel but no one else can quite hit the mark! I have brought plenty of family and friends from out of town to Garrett's and they all frequently place orders online. The lines are usually long however it is worth the wait. I was driving by this south side location and decided to make a u-turn. Their drive thru is open and was not that crowded. I waited in line about 10 minutes. Placed my order with a nice, friendly lady named Dyneisha. I ordered the medium mix which is cheese & caramel popcorn. It was $6.35 plus .65 cent in tax. Most people probably could wait til they get home....hmmmmm not me. I started right away after cleaning hands with hand sanitizer. This past Sunday I was in Chicago and stopped by your store on 87th street; off of Cottage Grove. I ordered a large cheese, large mix and small caramel with pecans.   The product was horrible! The cheese corn was not edible as I chewed it, it was obviously stale as it stuck to my teeth like "crown". I ordered the carmel pecan for my wife, and although it was a small bag ... only 1 pecan?  Really? I spent almost $40.00 driving through your store to purchase my order on Sunday and feel completely ripped off. While this location was a straight shot east on 87th Street, we went through some questionable spots...... I visited this location on an early Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door. There was a police officer on duty letting people in as others left. They were really jamming in there; hip hop and rap music was blaring over the speakers. Which was fine, it was just different than the 2 other Garrett locations I've been to. Customer service was meh. I did feel bad for the employees, they seemed rather robotic. My boyfriend took me to Chicago this past weekend for my birthday. This was my first time in the Chi, so naturally, I wanted to try all its staples. Being from St. Louis, we always heard about the famous Garrett popcorn. I always thought, "It's just popcorn!" Well, I can honestly say I understand--It was really good. My bf bought two bags of the caramel/cheddar mix. I believe it's known as the Chicago style. I love a sweet and savory blend, so this medley was perfect. The cheddar was incredible; you can tell its REAL cheese. The caramel was sweet, but not overly done. They have several Garrett stores around Chicago, so don't feel you'll be designated to just one. The portions come in nice sizes, so know that it's perfect for sharing or simply saving for later. My bag lasted two days, considering I shared it with my mom. My boyfriend paid $10 per bag. If you find yourself in the Chicago area, I recommend you swing by Garrett, even if it's to say you were there. read more

I have worked in downtown Chicago most of my life, so I've been to my fair share of Garrett's. However, the location in Chatham is my favorite by far. Most downtown locations get thousands of visitors a day, so they focus on volume. The Chatham location focuses on customer service. They greet you as soon as you walk in the door. Even if the place is packed, they get you in and out as quickly as possible. And, they pop the popcorn on site, so the popcorn is always fresh. I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience here. I always leave knowing that I will be back to this location. Try this one out for that cheesy caramel goodness. At the request of my cousin, I was asked to bring back just one thing from Chicago for him-- Garrett Popcorn. I ordered two large bags, one Chicago Mix, the other a almond/cashew/pecan Caramel Crisp mix. My commitment to ensure the adequate transport of this popcorn back to Atlanta included bringing it on a separate carry-on (yes, just the two bags of popcorn) and being pulled over and inspected by TSA.
