Absolutely disgusting experience with Ashlynd at Pools By Design AZ…read more I had to delay my pool project and financing for a year because I was battling cancer. Instead of showing an ounce of compassion, decency, or professionalism, Ashlynd chose to be rude, condescending, and outright demeaning. She talked down to me, belittled me over the communication gap, and made it very clear she wanted me to feel small over my financial timing. Let that sink in: I was considering paying this company $80,000, and this is how I was treated. It was arrogant, cruel, and completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be chastised or made to feel "less than," especially while dealing with a life-altering medical crisis. That interaction told me everything I needed to know about this company. I took my business elsewhere, and I strongly recommend others do the same. If this is how Pools By Design AZ treats people before they even get your money, I can only imagine how bad things get after.

I stated that I didn't ask for decorative tile cutouts on the steps and they cut out 2"x2" diamonds and placed them in the center of the stairs with a cut out turtle. And then yelled at me that it was ART!! I didn't ask for art. I asked for a clean, modern pool! But of course it was advised to the 7th guy I talked to prior to him! These people should not be doing business AT ALL!!!! The whole 10mins Of yelling from this guy who was trying to fight my husband and I was recorded on my security footage !!! My 2 children were my home at the time & witnessed the whole thing!

I had high hopes. This company had serviced the pond many years ago in the house we just bought. What I ended up getting was two very nice guys who used a pressure washer and a sunk pump to drain my pond and that's it. 75 bucks per hour per guy equaling $150 an hour! My bill was over $1000. I could've purchased all the equipment, including the tubs, pump and washer for far less and done it myself. They couldn't even tell me what kind of fish I have in my pond. I was really disappointed. By late afternoon, I ended up going out and asking when they were going to get to the point of refilling my pond, only to be told that they were still pressure washing out the goop. I said this isn't a pool, this is a pond and I do expect some algae and what not. Only then did they start refilling my pond. And to add insult to injury, they said that "we "have a problem. We! They didn't bring the DEchlorinator!!! When I asked if that might harm my fish or my turtle when being re-introduced to the pond, the response was, "well I hope not"! I couldn't believe my ears. This was a mess from start to finish. To say that I was disappointed in this company is a massive understatement. They told me they installed ponds all the time and direct sunlight and that there's nothing I can do about the algae. Even though shade is the thing to mitigate algae. I asked about plants and other kinds of fish and I expected some of that to arrive with the workers, which did not. $150 per hour.... You'd think that would come with some semblance of expertise, but did not. I'll be honest, I sincerely suggest you look elsewhere if you have a pond and you need some help. I found ponds plants and more off of Ruthrauff and they're amazing. They charge per job, which seems the ethical thing to do unless you're just really trying to fleece people.

Update number 2 and it will be brief…read more After posting my first update (and, if we're being an honest, a public post on Facebook in which I tagged Valley Oasis and mentioned a potential lawsuit), I was contacted by Noah through Facebook Messenger, and my husband received a phone call. Noah came by, looked at the pool, and a couple months later all of the issues were fixed. The hole under the waterfall was patched, the Venturi nozzle was replaced, and the damage to the decking was repaired and the entire surface coated in a grey cool-decking type material. My water bill has been cut in half (amazing how much water can quietly leak from a pool). Why only three stars? Because it shouldn't have taken that long to get someone's attention. If you go with this company, keep on it and stand firm.

The quote was on par with other companies, and our pool guy had recommended PPP so it seemed like a no brainer. It took a really long time for the work to be completed, and there were nonstop additional costs all along the way. The gentleman who did the quote botched it, and at one point we had 4 gentlemen from PPP come out (including the gentleman who gave the quote) to our house to discuss all of the additional costs. They bickered amongst themselves and told the gentleman who gave the quote that he did a poor job, and then they walked him around the yard to give him pointers of where he should be looking for future quotes. It was awkward and unprofessional, and in the end we agreed to split the cost. After that, communications became extremely curt, all of the work seemed to be done much more sloppily, and we are still waiting for them to come back to fix the ladder that they installed incorrectly. When friends ask me who did our pool, I tell them "Pima Pool Plastering, but I do not suggest you use them".

I called Ambiance yesterday with a request for an emergency service call as my chlorinator…read moredeveloped a serious leak. They were able to get me on their schedule for the next day. I have been quite impressed so far with the professionalism: I received a text message shortly after my call-in giving me a time window for the next day. They texted me again about 45 minutes into my window telling me they would be there shortly, and they arrived promptly. The tech was courteous and skilled - he was able to get the leak down to a trickle without any serious surgery, but recommended I change out my old chlorinator with a salt system that matched my pool controller, filter, etc. Looking forward to getting a quote, but happy with the short-term fix. I've been looking for a while for a company to do mechanical maintenance on my pool/spa, and I think I found them!
