I initially contacted a competing roofing company to assess a leak in the air vent in my ceiling. It drips water every heavy rain. A young man came out with a drone and flew it over my house. I was initially impressed at the process, and the identified issues with my roof. I thought he'd climb up there to check it out, but he seemed to have it all worked out. He said I'd get a quote emailed to me, but after waiting a couple weeks, it never came. This brought me to Alpha Roofing. I scheduled an estimate, where I met Mario. The disrespect I felt with him flaunting his dodger hat to a deeply rooted Yankee home!!! yes, I proudly wore my Yankee hat as he and I bantered back-and-forth. We instantly hit it off. Mario is a personable and friendly guy, I felt comfortable with him. He came into my home to see the source of the leak and asked for access to my attic. He grabbed a ladder and climbed onto my roof first. I questioned him not having a drone and he told me he did, but for initial estimates, he needed to walk my roof to see what was going on. Once on my roof, he quickly identified everything the other roofing company mentioned and so much more. He found the source of my leak. The drone was great, but would never have caught the tiny holes left in my roof from removing solar pool panels. That gave me an Oh *hit moment! I quickly got an estimate and asked how soon the repairs could be done, as rain was approaching. Unfortunately, he told me it would take a couple of weeks. I braced for that. Next, there's Elsie. I was out with my granddaughters one day and kept getting a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. I get so many spam calls, I never answer my phone if I don't recognize the number, but Elsie was persistent. She probably called my phone five times. I finally answered and she apologized profusely for blowing up my phone, but was able to schedule me the next day for repairs. I was over the moon! I thanked her so much for her persistence!!!!! Finally, there's Jacob, Jonathan, and Gesar. What an amazing group of young men! They showed up bright and early, and ready to work. They were equally friendly and personable. Fun facts...Jacob is Mario's son. He too showed up in a dodger hat, which I had to express my dissatisfaction and told him it would reflect in his review, lol. Johnathan is a US Marine veteran, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!! And Gesar "G", is the silent assassin. He didn't talk, but he was hard-working. Their work was quick, efficient, neat, and done right. Once finished, I was shown pictures of all of the problem areas, and progress photos showing their work up to completion, with in-depth explanations. Everything was done just in time for the big storm, and guess what? No more leak! Oh, and by the way... Mario's quote was less than half of the first roofing company who missed the source of the leak. My neighbor had a major issue with their roof during this last storm, and I was happy to refer Mario to them. He showed up promptly and put a tarp on their roof, pending clear weather to do repairs. Had them put on a completely new roof just to have multi leaks not even 1 year later. Never had any issues with my roof, not one leak. When I advised them with 2 inspections, photos and proof of water leaked in my house from the ceiling and coming down my windows to the downstairs, instant response not their fault. Advised they would come out and no response. Hired a new roofer to find out they didn't even cover roof with vents per code, laid tar paper over wood in lieu of sandpaper type over wood. Have to replace my whole roof. They also did not install flashing. So not use them!!! Paid over $25k. The warranty means nothing when they don't stand behind it. read more

Started off great! Called in got a very friendly lady who set us up with an appointment. (unfortunately I forgot her name) She said that she would be sending out Mario for our roofing proposal. Mario did show up on time and he was informative and respectful of our property. He talked with my husband and explained everything. He drafted up the proposal on-site. We were quoted around 25,000 for new roof and garage included. Then Mario said it would cost 2,500 for his guy to take down our top mounted A/C unit and put it back after the roofing projects done. Bringing are total to 27,500. ( Now from all the other companies that came out he is the only one stating they have to completely remove the A/C unit. All other companies said they just jack it up in the air and Install the roof and a few said they can work around it. So not sure if he was just trying to get more bang for his buck or if this is how this company operates. Me and my husband told Mario we needed to look over the proposal and we would get back to him. I called Mario later that night and asked him if he would be able to just do the garage for now. As we don't have that kind of money and I didn't want to go with a credit card as they charge more for using it. (I believe 3% more) He told me no problem that he would draw us up a new proposal for just the garage. He told me he'd have it by the next day. So I reached out via voice-mail and text a few days later. To give him some time but again no reply so I guess he didn't want to bother with a small job because he thought it was going to be the main roof and garage. He should have just told me straight out and not lie about getting back. I would have totally understood. I would have given them more stars if he would have just kept his word. Three years ago, Alpha Roofing replaced the roof on my home in Redlands. At the time, I posted a 5-Star review indicating how pleased we were with all aspects of the job Mario and his crew did. Unfortunately (I just learned today), Yelp failed to post the review as a "Recommended Review". Instead, it was posted under the "Not recommended" category which can be found at the link below. The reason for this post: Earlier this week while working in my front yard, Mario stopped by to say hi and tell me he was working on a neighbor's roof. He had noticed a large quantity of pine needles on our roof and offered to remove them for me at no charge. He was able to do that since his crew next door would have some down time while waiting for the city inspector to come by to approve his work. Today (Saturday 6/29), Mario and his son came by personally to remove the pine needles and noted three broken tiles. He promised to return on Monday to replace the tiles at no charge. Once again, this exemplifies his professionalism and intent to maintain the highest level of customer service. I'm writing this review because I know how much I rely on them myself. I was shopping around someone to replace my shingles. I got 4 quotes and Mario @ Alpha was the most honest out of them all. The work I was doing was claim related and some other companies tried to tell me I had to replace the wood also (even without looking at it) and I knew that is not what I needed. I have been searching for a roofing contractor to repair an issue with my chimney caused by the wind. It is difficult to find a licensed contractor to do small jobs on your schedule and at an affordable price. When you say tile roof, it is even harder to find someone. I met with Mario and explained the situation; he said, "let's take a look". He used a drone to display the chimney cap for me and was able to focus on the break. He explained that it didn't look like there were any other issues on the chimney and how it would repaired. He broke out the ladders, went up on the roof to take a firsthand look, came back down and told me that there were no other problems. He gathered his materials and fixed the chimney cap like new. I wish I could give Mario and his crew 10 stars...they did a full concrete tile re-roof job back in May 2022, and we couldn't ask for a more honest, friendly, and caring person to do this for us. As we had some issues with the Eagle flat tile, and the Eagle rep has been out 3 times (the last time with their tech engineer, and they deem the tile within spec) Mario has gone far beyond supporting us and the issues we've had (in fact, he was the one who summoned Lane @ Eagle after being concerned by the tile). He has re-inspected the roof for us three times since then to ensure we are good to go. Not only have they been very supportive, but I consider Mario to be a good friend as well. Our dining room ceiling started leaking with the heavy rain we had in November. Another company that we called first came and sold us a $400.00 tarp, told us that it could not be repaired and that the whole roof needed replacing. That company never came back to even give us a quote. Luckily, I called Alpha for a second opinion. Mario inspected the underlayment and reported that we only needed to repair the affected area, not the whole roof! Bait and Switch. I called several roofing companies and initially was going to go with Alpha Roofing. I liked the receptionist that I communicated with and appreciated that the company was on time and (seemed) professional. I was provided with proposals from several roofing companies and this one had the best price. I called to verify some information about my solar panels compared to the back of the contract. I was reassured that the solar would be protected. I then requested a contract and suddenly the owner called to tell me that the quote didn't include the solar panels. It would be an extra $3,000- 6,000 dollars! Why would they not have included the solar panels on the quote when they were so obviously on the roof AND I had already consulted with the receptionist? I asked for the updated quote which I was never sent. I feel like they would have started the work, taken the deposit, and then let me know that the solar would be extra. Terrible. read more

During a recent rain storm my kitchen ceiling began leaking. With 2-3 more days of rain expected, I called Alpha Roofing. Mario arrived at 9:00 the next morning and quickly located the problem. The vent had a hole in it and a tile was cracked. Mario patched the hole in the vent and the cracked tile. The leak immediately stopped. Once the rain stopped, Mario's crew came out 9 days later. They removed several roof tiles, installed 2 layers of underlayment, installed a new vent and replaced several broken tiles.
