This is the second time dealing with this company. I'd like to say first hand that they are fast. Neat and quiet. They get down to business. Often times you get the loud workers with music (which is not a bad thing) and banter etc. again which is not bad but for a business. For rental repairs. For the people that work from home. The quiet type of work goes a long way. Hector is beyond professional and courteous and addresses your concerns. Often times you receive push back from workers based on any of your concerns. Not with Hector. He hears you out and works to find a common ground. You won't go with them. So far, no complaints. The quality appears solid. I'm sure if there are any issues Hector would address because he very approachable and easy to talk to. We will definitely be using this company again in the future. I cannot recommend Hector enough...that must be why we keep hiring him for work on our home and my parents'! They first installed a new roof about 4 years back, compared to others, he was very competitively priced. His crew did good work and he was always available to answer questions and kept us informed. Last year we hired him to paint all the trim, eaves and soffits, it looks great. Most recent job was replace old plaster with drywall and paint three rooms and hallways. I love my new cool roof. My roof was over 30 years old, plus it was on top of another roof. My roofs didn't even have plywood underneath. So this was a big job. When Hector's crew came out to tear off the old roof, it was completed within a day. Next came insulation added to the attic. That was finished in one day. The new roof was added within one day! Each time they worked each job on the roof my yard and roof was spotless. Hooray. Anytime I had a question, Hector responded right away. Really a great experience. They redid my garage roof. The bid, one of 3 I got was much more professional & respectful than the others because he specified in detail what materials he would use & how he would the drainage problems that contributed to the deterioration. The other companies neither addressed the drainage nor were they specific about materials instead using generic descriptions of materials. His guys came on time, we're polite, cleaned up & removed all materials. His price was very fair & he was very responsive to questions & timing issues. Highly recommend! read more

HectorTorres, owner of HYT Construction, is a real stand up guy. I have a steep pitched roof, where one pitch ties into another and then ties into gables. I had a roof leak during the last severe rain storm which was very difficult to pinpoint the cause of the leak. Hector and his crew worked relentlessly to find and correct the problem. Hector and his workers are very knowledgable, professional and respectful of my property. None of my shrubs or plants were damaged and extra care was taken not to damage the rain gutters with their ladder. I called to receive a quote on replacing my balcony floor and Hector came to my house. When it was the day for appointment he rang the door bell and waited a little bit before deciding to leave. He didn't call me before waiting which I thought was unprofessional (first red flag). I called him and he agreed to come back because I really needed this repaired. He reviewed the work that needed to be done and sold me on his work and experience. He mentioned to me that he is currently busy but will give me a quote in a few days. The few days become weeks to months (second red flag). I reached to him numerous times and did not always respond back (third and last red flag). Overall we decided to not go with him to avoid having future headaches due to his lack of response, follow through, and unprofessionalism. If it's this hard to just get a quote from him how would it be once we start working with him. Please don't waste your time and go somewhere else. read more

We needed our roof replaced. there were multiple layers of roofing tiles on top of the original roof dated from 1955. Hector came to assess the roof and provided an estimate that was very fair. He stated he would be able to have the roof taken care of in a weekend. I thought for sure it would take at least four days. On Saturday morning around 8am his crew started working taking off layers of old roofing right down to the wooden boards. Then they replaced the wood that needed replacement, newly tiled, and vented the roof. They proceeded to clean up the yard and the garage thoroughly. All of this was accomplished by 5:30pm. Our roof looks fantastic and to my amazement it was beautifully and professionally done in one day. I marvel at the professionalism of Hector and his staff. After the last heavy rainstorm and snow flurry, water began to seep in from the bottom of the sliding glass door. I tried to reseal it, but constant rain didn't help. The water continued to seep in. I was very fortunate and incredibly lucky that HYT Construction was my first call. Just like you reading my review, I also read Yelp reviews to find someone to help me before the next rainstorm. I called Hector and explained the situation. He was also concerned about the incoming rainstorm and stopped by at the end of his day to take a look and see if he could help. Hector was professional, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. He sealed the door free of charge and asked for an update the following day to see if that solved the issue. It did!
