I took my 2018 Chevy Impala to Len Lyall Chevrolet and was charged $225 for a diagnostic test, only to find out they simply read my check-engine codes the same thing AutoZone would do for free. When a dealership charges that much, you expect a thorough inspection of all warning lights, but that didn't happen. My car had a check-engine light, traction control light, and tire sensor light on. I was quoted $1085 total, which included the $225 diagnostic fee, a replacement key fob (one of the buttons on mine is missing), an ignition coil, purge valve, gas cap and 1 tire sensor. When I asked Jesus (the service advisor) about the traction control and tire sensor lights, he said, "Nobody ever told us to check that." I asked why I would pay $225 for diagnostics if they weren't checking all the issues, and he replied, "Did you not hear what I just said? Nobody told us to check anything but the check-engine light." He then said, "So what are we doing? Do you want us to do the work or not?" -- which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. I've brought my vehicles here for years on both the service and body shop side, and I've never been treated like this. Jesus was basically talking to me like I was his child and was upset with me because I asked him why they didn't address all the service lights that was on my task board. The supervisor confirmed that the $225 diagnostic fee is not applied toward any repairs and said he would talk to Jesus. I didn't want to speak to Jesus again that's why I requested a supervisor but the supervisor still had Jesus call me which I was very unhappy with. Jesus never apologized and acted like his rude and unprofessional behavior never happened, which led me to believe the supervisor never addressed his unprofessional behavior. I do not recommend Len Lyall Chevrolet especially if your a woman. Their $225 diagnostic fee is a rip-off, especially since they don't perform a full inspection. If you end up with Jesus as your service advisor, I suggest requesting someone else who's more professional and respectful. -I will NEVER return to Len Lyall read more

We had no choice but to use a dealership for emergency repairs. We have a 2019 Malibu which we bought 3 weeks ago. The radio/infotainment screen had been broken so that was ordered with a 100% markup. Last week the AC compressor seized up, shredding the belt. Parts for that repair were with a 100% markup, and then they said there was a "core charge" to replace the screen/electronics. We argued that and after it was escalated to the GM it was removed, it had been an accident in the system. We will never take a car for service and wouldn't consider purchasing from them. read more

My experience started like it would at any middle of the line dealer, pretty average. It took a negative turn very quickly when I went back for the 2nd visit and was attempting to negotiate with the sales manager, "Jeff". I simply asked why the windshield crack wasn't fixed and he bowed up and I thought he was going to jump over the counter at me. I've never witnessed such a lack of professionalism towards a potential customer. All for nothing, because he wouldn't reduce the price of the vehicle. Then 3 weeks after buying the 2021 Chevy Trail Boss with only 31k miles on it, I took it through the car wash. To my shock, the back cab window had a full out leak with water coming out and damaging the headliner of the vehicle! I called my "car dealer", Enoch, the next day and he didn't answer. I called him again the day afterwards and he answered and immediately denied any liability and said there was nothing they could do and then HUNG UP THE PHONE on me! He shortly called back and apologized but still offered no explanation, services, or $ compensation. Long story short it ended up costing me $800 and I've now been back to the dealer with issues twice in 3 weeks since buying the truck. Absolute nightmare. The salesman told me there was a $2,000 Colorado Fee that was not optional only for after I've purchased the car to find out it was a warranty b.s. useless thing I'll never need that they ran up the bill on me for. Len Lyall was responsive, getting the car fixed fast -- but the parts cost was excessive We had a broken tail light on a rental car, and I wanted to get it repaired on the way to the airport rental return. The service manager I dealt with was very responsive, and got the new lens assembly installed in about an hour. That was great. What wasn't so great was the cost. The labor cost was $34.50 which was fair for a 15-minute job. But the parts cost was a complete rip-off. I was charged $198.06 for a part readily available elsewhere (I found out after the fact) for $102.23. It was available on-line for as little as $62.07. Quite honestly this dealership sucks. The service department is lazy and flat out just unprofessional. My car needs two new fuel pumps with in less than a year. Now on and off will idle hard and the tack with move up and down as well as you can hear it. Not to mention when you've driven it for a while (not the 3 miles) they did you can feel the transmission acting up. But hey all they can say is no code being thrown and no engine light to them the car is fine. But won't see why this issue is happening. This place is a damn joke. Will sell cars that should have been sent to auction and then you are left with the consequences. Not to mention they REFUSE to show the print out that everything is running fine whether it be the injectors to be tested or a print out to show that the cylinders are working as they should. So when you ask for that about YOUR car and they say no and refuse something here just seems fishy about that. My 87 year old father whom is legally blind and his 83 year old wife whom had a stroke purchased a vehicle from Len Lyall Chevrolet the end of 01/22. My Dad has an expired license from 7 years ago and his wife has a medically suspended license from her doctor and reported her non ability to drive a vehicle to the DMV after her stroke in 2020. DMV suspended her license. If Len Lyall would have done a DMV records search it would have came up that her license is not valid and suspended due to her having a stroke via her doctor's request to the DMV. Dan Johnson, the GM pretty much said via a telephone conversation with him today that they don't check DMV records, they assume if they have a drivers license in their position that is not expired they are going to sell them a car. Drivers that have had their license suspended for one reason or another are supposed to relinquish their license to the DMV, but obviously most don't. I would hope that dealerships responsibility is to make sure they are selling a car to an individual that can legally drive, not only by them producing a drivers license, but checking DMV records, mostly selling vehicles to elderly at risk adults. According to Dan Johnson, its not their responsibility as a dealership. I called 6 local dealerships and asked them this very same question and all 6 said that they check DMV records before selling a vehicle even if their license that they provide is not expired. The salesman that brought the vehicle to their house should have questioned her ability when she came out to the vehicle in a wheel chair, according to my Dad both him and the salesman had to push her into the drivers seat to get her in the car. Unbelievable!! Yes, I was very upset when I finally out to talk to Dan Johnson's, because this is not the first time my Dad has requested them to bring him a vehicle to buy. I showed up at my Dads one day months earlier and their was a Len Lyall salesman in the driveway with a car. I asked him what he was doing and he said my Dad called to buy a car. I told that salesman that neither of them have a valid drivers license. My Dad is legally blind and his license expired 7 years ago and her license has been medically suspended by the DMV. He didn't even ask for either of their license for them to even do a test drive. He left and I called Len Lyall and don't recall whom I talked to, but told them they can't sell either one a car because both do not have a valid drivers license. That individual said he wasn't aware neither had a valid drivers license and was very nice and professional. I hoped that Len Lyall would have made a note about that for any future phone calls from my Dad, apparently not. Dan Johnson was rude and saying he didn't even know why he was talking to me because he didn't even know I was who I said I was, my Dad's daughter. Really?, why else would I be calling you Mr. Johnson, just because? I called because I was unaware of this until yesterday. I was out of town on business when this happened. Just because someone wants to buy a car doesn't mean they should be buying one if neither have a valid drivers license. Len Lyall DO YOUR due diligence when selling a car to elderly at risk adults. As adult children we can't be with our elderly parents everyday. If they are able to still live in their homes and take a certain level of care for themselves, as adult children we want that for them for their independence but it when it comes down to 2 elderly people that do not have valid drivers licenses and could do harm to themselves or someone else by getting behind the wheel of a vehicle, then I would hope that a dealership would do a DMV records search to see if in fact either have the privilege via the DMV to drive a vehicle, not only because they want to sell a car. The last vehicle my Dad bought when him and his wife both could drive was from Len Lyall Chevrolet and every vehicle he has bought from Len Lyall dates back from the 70"s. We sold that car after my Dad wasn't able to drive and she wasn't able to drive. Len Lyall, is selling a car that important to you that you can't look beyond your monthly sales to make sure that you have done all you can by checking drivers license validity to 2 elderly adults? According to your General Manager, Dan Johnson thats not a priority apparently. If this would have been the first time that my Dad called, that would have been one thing, but Len Lyall was made aware the first time that neither of them are able to drive and do not have valid drivers license. Did salesman #2 that brought yet another car to their home in January not have any record of them from months earlier where they were told neither can drive legally? Do the right thing and buy back this car and make some note at your dealership that these 2 elderly individuals don't have valid drivers license and not entertain them just to sell a vehicle. read more
