The instructors were knowledgeable and patient with us. We brought our four kids ages 6 to 15. We made pendants, suncatchers, and coasters. They had safety equipment for us and let us be creative. We came back during the Art walk and made Christmas trees. Because we had to leave the next day our work was shipped to us. Everything was wrapped very carefully and securely so nothing broke. Summers Glass is actually a working glass studio offering classes and workshop activities to the public. The store sells fused glass ornaments, jewelry, bowls, wine bottle stoppers and wall art which are truly unique and original. Lots of Dichroic glass (glass containing multiple micro-layers of metals or oxides which give it optical properties) jewelry and one-of-a-kind gifts. They also offer a variety of loose pieces so you can make your own necklace, bracelet or ornament. Take your time when browsing through the shelves, you may find that one piece that catches your eye (mine was a doggie bone pendant). Suffice it to say I walked out with 2 large bags of ornaments and gifts for friends.... and of course, six of those glass flowers on the sidewalk.

We were told we would have the venue for 8 hours with full use of the Kitchen and the Patio. We live in Seattle so planning from a far was a little difficult. I got a phone call from someone asking a lot of questions which I answered. 2 weeks later I got an angry call from the office manager asking me all the SAME questions and with an attitude. I was already frustrated that I had to keep giving the same information over and over. Why wasn't this information being recorded? My mom took our caterer to the venue and the manager told them that our package did not include the use of the kitchen. WHAT!? She also informed us that we only had 6 hours, not 8. That includes set up and take down time!! I was furious at this point. I asked to speak to someone else in charge and finally got someone helpful who allowed us to use the kitchen. After all that drama, the day of the wedding came. The kitchen was filthy when we showed up so we spent half our prep time cleaning. The "Event Host" had no idea what he was doing so our guests had cold steak for dinner because he couldn't turn the ovens on.... unacceptable. My family and friends spent hours cleaning the venue (including things that weren't even asked of us). We left the venue far cleaner than the way we found it. To my surprise, the office manager sent me an email on our honeymoon stating that we stained their carpet and that we were to send her a check for $100 or she would cash my $500 deposit check. This was outrageous to me being that we DIDN'T EVEN USE THE CARPETED AREA for food transport and my father-in-law spent time to walk the venue with the event host to make sure there were no problems. I am overall so dissatisfied with the "service" we received. The staff of this venue was by far the most stressful and difficult part of our wedding.

I didn't know what I was getting into but the adventurer in me pulled over to see what this place was all about. I walked up to this outdoor shop and there I found so many lovely handmade pieces that it took me a very long time to narrow it down on what I wanted to buy! Walking around this pottery shop was like stepping into another world in another time! The dusty outdoor floors. The pottery all laid out on wooden shelves. The handmade pieces all unique. The sun shining through the shelves. I just got lost in all of it! There's a small "shack" that you can walk into and view even more pieces of pottery. And what I discovered in there was something very surprising. An honor system! There wasn't anyone in there taking payment or manning the shop. It was all on an honor code. They had paper laid out on a desk where you can write down what items you bought and a cashless system to buy your items with Venmo etc. wow! I've never been to a place like this and I ended up buying 3 pieces. A strainer, honey pot and sourdough container. They now sit on my kitchen counter and go beautifully with my ocean decor theme. I have an antique ceramic lamp that was hand painted by my godmother that the base was broken by my…read moredogs. I took it in to Chess Ceramic & Supply hoping against hope that something could be done to fix it. The way it was broken, it was useless. I just didn't want to let go of this family heirloom. The lamp is back! They were able to build a new base, match the original paint and make the lamp look like it was never damaged. I cannot express my gratitude for saving this lamp.
