We have stayed at Alpine Motel quite a few times and will continue coming back! Brian and Patty are wonderful hosts and they are very hands-on. Rooms are all immaculate and well-maintained. Brian always shares suggestions for his favorite places to eat in West Yellowstone. Prices are reasonable and you can't beat the location, close to the main street through West Yellowstone. Families with kids would appreciate all the snacks and drinks they set out in the reception area. They have a few larger rooms for families, too. read more

I stayed here for one night before my trip to Yellowstone National Park and I must say it was a very pleasant day and if I ever returned, I will definitely be staying here. Brian and Patti were outstanding hosts. Very clean rooms and efficient accommodations. Parking right in front of the room nightly. Lobby was open from 7:30 am to 10 pm daily with a microwave, fresh coffee, hot water, assorted chocolates, granola bars and fruit candies. Brian recommended a nice side trip to the Mesa Falls loop, Henry Lake, Quake lake and a few others spots. Took the time to show us recommendations for places to eat, suggested places to visit inside and outside Yellowstone Park. They take great pride in what they do and it shows. Kitchen was clean and had everything needed except your food. Hotel was only 1/2 block off Main Street. Numerous eating establishments within a short walk. Only a short drive to entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Would highly recommend this hotel. Book early as it is small but you will not be disappointed. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Motel room floor was soaking wet, the wood around the shower was black and rotting. The only outlets in the room are behind the headboards that are nailed into the wall. Employees at every store were extremely rude and unhelpful. The man at the office did not want to help. Put us in the very last room, where construction right outside our room began at 6am. Tldr the room is nasty and the employees are rude. read more

After doing some research on places to stay near Yellowstone, I settled on Alpine Motel for its competitive prices, proximity to the west park entrance, and good reviews. J and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and I'm so glad we were able to snag the last available room! As others have mentioned, Brian and Peggy are uber friendly owners who take your comfort very seriously. Whenever I dropped into the office they would come out and chat for a bit, asking me how my day was and offering advice for what to check out next. The rooms are quite cozy-- just enough space for a queen, and a very small shower/bathroom area. The rooms are outfitted with a heater, fan/AC system (via window), small TV, wifi (ask for the code) and fridge. If you're looking for a microwave, coffee, hot water, small snacks (they had chocolates and craisins while we were there), head over to the lobby. Our room was right on the street, which I thought might be noisy, but ended up being a non-issue as West Yellowstone is essentially dead after 10pm. OVERALL: If I ever find myself back in West Yellowstone, you bet I'll try to reserve a room at Alpine Motel. Definitely recommending to friends/family too! read more

I have no major complaints about this motel at all. We stayed here in August of 2010. It's a small, attractive motel right in the middle of West Yellowstone. The rooms look nice and provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is a modest hotel, so interactions are more personal. We had to make our reservations through email and phone calls. The owners basically run the motel on their own. And they are very friendly. The price was very affordable when you compare with other places in town. My wife arranged for them to hold and refrigerate a birthday cake from a local grocer for a few hours until we arrived, and they gladly did it so she could surprise me when we got there. The room we stayed in had a queen bed, small table with two chairs, cable television (older model TV), small window unit for A/C that kept the room cool and comfortable, bathroom with shower only and toilet, vanity area with sink and refrigerator open to room (no door), and a ceiling fan. It was a small room but it was perfect for me, my wife, and our two year old son. The only thing to be forewarned about is the possibility of tight parking. If they are full, you will have a tight fit near your door to park. Just a heads up! read more

Stayed 4 nights at the Alpine Motel in West Yellowstone. This property is centrally located in West Yellowstone which allowed us to easily walk to restaurants, shops, etc. The accomodations are clean, comfortable and very affordable. The property owners are super friendly and accomodating. As we spent almost all our (awake) time in Yellowstone Park, the Alpine Motel was the perfect place for us to crash after long days in the park. Took us about 5 minutes to hit the park entrance from our room - again perfect for us. Looking forward to staying there again in the near future. We loved this place. My buddy and I rolled in here after slogging through 100 miles of off-and-on rain on our motorcycles. The lobby/office was warm, dry, and they had coffee available as well as a bunch of freebies (candy and lotion). Brian came out from the back and greeted us warmly, made some small talk and quickly checked us in. I made the reservation in my name but my friend was paying for it and it was no hassle at all to swap cards so my friend could pay. Brian informed us of the office hours, when coffee and treats were available, and then personally took us to our room. Nice touch when you're used to just being given your keys and a map. Not that it was that far, our place was right in front. This is a small motel, maybe 10 units, and it felt just right. Got to our room and Brian showed us how the heat and air worked, explained the other room amenities and then left us to ourselves. Very nice and personable, not what I was expecting for a place like this. I normally stay in corporate places but Alpine might just change my mind. We were cold and wet so cranked up the heat, got out of our wet clothes and went for some dinner. A fully belly and a couple beers made for a great nights sleep. If only I'd remembered to turn down the heat in the room. Around 2:30am I woke up and the room was about 85 degrees. Completely my fault, nothing against the place, although a modern thermostat would be nice instead of just a dial operated heater. I actually stood out in the driveway of the place for about 15 minutes to cool off while I had the door of our room open. Other than the heat I had a good night's sleep, and the room came with little feebies of toothpaste, razor, lotion, all kinds of random stuff. Not a big deal, but it was one more thing I didn't have to worry about buying later on in our trip. The rooms are pretty.. cozy (read: small) but when all you need is a place to crash, that works pretty well. Everything was clean and tidy and well kept. The personal service more than made up for any shortcomings of the facilities; the only other being the parking. You park in front of your room. We only had two motorcycles, but a large truck or something may be challenged getting to fit. There's street parking but it's pretty sparse in the afternoon/evening once all the travellers arrive. Overall, a fantastic night at Alpine Motel. I wish we could've stayed longer but our schedule didn't allow it. If I ever make it back up to Yellowstone, Alpine is on my list of places to stay. read more

I am so glad someone mentioned this place to stay at on an online forum, because it doesn't come up on online booking sites. The couple running the motel are such nice people. Upon checking in, Brian showed me how everything in the room worked and asked if I wanted restaurant recommendations. The heating worked extremely well, the fridge was very convenient to have, and the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water. They also clean the room daily. The room is modest but comfortable. The TV was fantastic. Best of all, the location is perfect for seeing Yellowstone being just minutes from the west entrance of the park. We were able to drive and see all the main attractions in the park in 2 long days (each day we did one loop of the park). The restaurants we enjoyed in town were Las Palmitas, Cafe Madriz, Wild West Pizza, and Slippery Otter Pub. Would definitely stay here again in the future. read more

Staying here you really see what a difference hands-on ownership can make in the hospitality industry. Brian and his wife (forgot name, sorry!) take care of you as if you were family. The units are immaculate and have huge, comfy beds. Cute old west cabin. When you arrive, you will be given a warm welcome and a thorough explanation of how everything works. Pay particular attention to your parking; they are great people but they run a tight ship. There are lots of free trail bars and other snacks in the little lobby, and the owners provide good recommendations for everything from meals to bicycle repair. This place is the best deal for the money in West Yellowstone. read more

If you're looking at a quality, good value place to stay that won't cost you an arm and a leg and isn't the resort experience (but just as hospitable!) this is a good place to go! What appears like any other motel on the outside is quite cozy on the inside. Brian and Patty make staying at the Alpine Motel special. They are accommodating and helpful. They even offered us a brush to sweep snow off of our car! The rooms are decorated to fit the wilderness setting of Yellowstone. Loved my moose pillows! We stayed at the Alpine Motel for two nights, on the second stop of our two week US road trip. We booked several months in advance - a king bed room for $105 a night incl tax. I talked to Brian on the phone at that time and he was super friendly and personable, which made me look forward to staying there. After a long day of driving and visiting part of Yellowstone Park, we checked in in the early evening. Brian was there to help us out and was again super friendly and explained everything they had to offer. He told us about the coffee and tea in the lobby, as well as the sweet free samples and the little candies and gum. He walked us to our room and showed us how to use the AC, tv, etc. Normally you don't know what to expect when you stay in these types of motel/cabins, so I was pleased to see that the room was modern, the bedspread was cute and it was very clean. Everything worked. It is slightly odd that the bathroom only has the shower and toilet in it, and then the sink and mirror are on the complete opposite side of the room, but not bothersome. The shampoo, soap, etc were of better quality than I expected, too. The location is great, just off of the main street. There are many restaurants and shops in less than 5 minutes walking distance. If you're lucky you'll be able to park your car right outside of your unit and leave it there while checking out the town. I would definitely recommend the Alpine Motel and would stay there again. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Alpine Motel for five days while visiting Yellowstone national park. The owners Brian and Patti were very hospitable The rooms were very nice, and immaculate. Plenty of fresh towels and toiletries. The owners gave us recommendations for restaurants and fun things to do in west Yellowstone. This motel is close to the west entrance. The rooms are individual cottage like rooms. Park in front of your door. They also had great coffee in the office lobby along with various snacks. I would highly recommend this motel and will definitely stay there again The beds were pretty comfortable, bathroom and shower small but worth the reasonable price. There is a a refrigerator and the room did have air-conditioning and lovely TV it's very cute within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops and grocery stores. We loved it here and Patti and Brian couldn't be any nicer. highly recommend this. 5 stars for sure. read more

Alright buddy, this is some of the best service I've had at a hotel, period. The owner is super nice and will point out everything in in the lobby that's available such as coffee, ice, microwave, snacks, extra toiletries, etc. and will go over the intricacies of certain things in your room like the A/C, heat, and Direct TV remote. It may have been a little over the top, but it really did make me feel welcomed. He also suggested about 8 restaurants in town and pointed them out on a map. We tried 3 of them, and were overall very pleased. The room is very small and nothing fancy, but it's all you need. The only thing I didn't like here was the parking situation. There is not much room and you basically have to parallel park in front of your room. He will tell you exactly where to park when checking in, but after a long day in Yellowstone coming back late, it's a whole different story. You can't really fit a car in front of each room and leave space for getting in and out. One or two people will probably not get a spot if they come back late, but you can always park in the street as well (right in front of the lobby) so it's not a huge deal. Also, it's not their fault because they can't really create more parking. I would certainly recommend this place, buddy. read more

Like everyone else, I can't recommend this place highly enough. This is a cute family run motel and you are made at home the minute you step into reception. Park your car in front of our room or in a pinch, in front of the motel where it will be perfectly safe. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. Huge KS bed with good quality bedding and a great night's sleep. Hot water is good. Towels are nice and fluffy too. TV has DirectTV access with plenty of channels and there's free wifi that works well. There are fridges in the room but no tea or coffee making facilities in room. No real concern though as there is not only tea and coffee available in the reception, they have complimentary muesli bars, fruit & nut snacks, mints and other treats. Microwave in reception also. The whole town is within walking distance with a supermarket across the road as well as plenty of restaurants and shops. This really is a super place to stay and right at the gate of Yellowstone. My boyfriend and I ended up at this sweet little place after missing a flight back to California last summer while he was on a motorcycle trip. They had one room left at a very reasonable price for the great central location. The owners offered good conversation, complimentary snacks and plenty of recommendations for dinner and breakfast. They spent about 10 minutes trying to fix our tv and ended up comping us some money for it having stopped working midway through the evening. Stayed here for 1 night during the govt shutdown. Very nice, clean and comfortable room (room 0) for$65. The room is small but more than adequate for 2 people. Room zero is basically on the street so it may be a bit noisy during busy months, but was not a problem in early October. The bathroom is small but has been recently remodeled and is very functional. This is an excellent alternative to the other places in the area at half the cost. The hosts are very friendly and offer great advice on local attractions. I would stay here again if in west yellowstone. read more

We loved this place! Why? Great size, great location (within walking distance of restaurants and gift shops galore!) and great innkeepers. We are a family of 5 and trying to find a single hotel room that can herd our three kids into one place comfortably can be a challenge at times. The Alpine Inn was the answer to our prayers! We stayed in an upstairs two-bedroom unit with a full kitchen and bath. Talk about space! That kitchen could have rivaled the one I have at home...and it was stocked with pots, pans, silverware, cutting boards, can openers, cleaners and even a full size fridge and dishwasher. They'll even lend you DVD's to watch for free, if you are so inclined. And anything that wasn't found in the kitchen cabinets or provided by the proprieters could easily be purchased at the grocery store down the block. We had a vacation in Yellowstone and booked this hotel. It is petty good experience. You can find almost all the things you need in the room. It's a family owned business. The owner actually clean the room by themselves. I feel they are really doing a great job make the room clean and tidy, even better than some four star hotels. Also they are very warm and friendly. By the time we check in, the owner show us around the room and the facilities nice and detailed. You can park the car right in front of the door, which is very convenient. I love the wooden internal of the room, which makes feel very unique and comfortable. There are coffee, snacks in the lobby during their office hour. And all the supermarket, restaurants, and the west gate of yellowstone is within the walking distance. It is definitely a hotel that I would like to choose the next time I visit yellowstone. read more

We travel across the States a lot and during our roadtrips we prefer staying at family operated places. This is one of the best family run motels we've been to - we stayed there in May. The owners were very friendly and helpful; Brian walked us to our room personally and showed us everything (Never had that happen before!). The rooms were clean and decorated with love - it felt more like staying overnight in your friend's guest room. The beds were very comfortable. There were several free samples in the room (deodorant, razor, body lotion, toothpaste) - loved that! They provide small snacks and hot drinks in the lobby which was nice.
