Rating: (10/10) My stay at Tao's Inn was an absolutely delightful experience. The check-in process was as seamless as it gets. A few hours before my check-in time, I received a text with clear instructions on how to check in. I Didn't have to worry about lines or going to the front desk, as a solo traveler, the point of coming to Yellowstone was to get away from people lol or the hustle and bustle of life, to find peace and tranquility. So needless to say I was pleasantly pleased with this efficient system. The rooms at the Inn are not just nice, but they are also very spacious. The interiors are tastefully done and the room smelled amazing!!!!, which added to the overall comfort and ambiance. As someone who appreciates attention to detail, I was quite impressed. Just 7 minutes away from the West entrance of the Yellowstone National Park, it provides easy access to the beautiful park, making it a dream come true for nature lovers. Conclusion: Tao's Inn has successfully combined comfort, efficiency, and a perfect location. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to the Yellowstone National Park. I loved my stay here and I am VERY particular about where I lay my head at night. The room was CLEAN, the bed was comfy (bamboo mattresses) the pillows were so fluffy (I should have looked at the brand), down comforters with white coverlets, towels were new and WHITE! They provided LATHER brand amenities and I enjoyed them especially after backpacking for a few days. Room as well equipped with Kerig, kettle, fridge and microwave. Nice LG TV. With Netflix. Room had a little porch where I did yoga. I was an awesome stay and half the price of some of the other hotels. Airbnb style with no office but you don't need it- only like 15 rooms on property. The location of Taos inn is very good. You can walk to the center of West Yellowstone and reach the entrance of Yellowstone in a few minutes. We had room 204, which was a double queen size room. The size of the room was ok. There isn't any room service, so we ran out of body wash, hair wash, etc on our 2nd out of 4 days at Yellowstone. The bathroom is good. The shower was warm and we had a hair dryer, which was nice. The entire room was very clean, and the beds were alright. I had a hard time sleeping from the firmness of the bed personally, but the rest of my family didn't seem to mind. I thought the decor (especially the plastic bamboo) was a little tacky, but it isn't a big deal. The only big complaint would be the WiFi, which was very slow. Overall, this place is great. If I had to stay is West Yellowstone again, I would probably stay here. read more

Not very big they only have less than 20 rooms but the location is great it's a short walk to the downtown and a couple miles from the park entrance. If you like to zip line your in luck your right next to the Zip-line. read more

I had nothing but the greatest experience here! I stayed for 3 nights. I was visiting so that I could adventure around Yellowstone National Park. Pros: -Located literally 3 min drive away from the West Yellowstone Entrance. It is also a few mins walking distance from downtown area -Plenty of parking space -Super easy to find your room and easy/quick check in process -My room was cleaned to perfection. The second I opened the door and entered my room, I could tell they cleaned because it smelled so nice. The floor was so clean that I didn't find any dirt/dust/hair/etc stuck to the bottom of my feet -A kurig, mini fridge, microwave, and 2 extra foldable chairs are provided -The building's floor, walls, stairs, etc appear as if it's still new. I can tell they've maintained the building very well -The Asian theme decor was nice -The AC/heater worked perfectly fine -Bathroom was spacious -Apple tv worked great, especially after a long day of hiking and wanting to lay and relax by watching Hulu -Shower pressure was perfect and water heats up quickly -The staff is great! When I first arrived and parked my car, a young Hispanic male who works there saw me and immediately asked me if I needed any help with taking my stuff to my room. Though I declined his offer because I didn't have much to bring in, I thought that was very generous of him to ask and that already made me feel very happy with choosing this hotel to stay at. Then there was another day where I came back to the hotel and completely forgot the keys to my room. Coincidentally I saw the same exact Hispanic male employer get into his truck and was about to leave. So I immediately walked up to his truck, knocked on his window, and told him what happened. He was so kind enough to get off the phone (I unfortunately interrupted him in the middle of a phone call) and he got right out of his truck and unlocked my hotel room with no hassle! Cons: -bed mattress is quite firm. But comforter and pillows were very comfy -pretty easy to hear people's footsteps walking the halls and walking up/down the stairs Overall, I had such an amazing stay here! I will definitely return and recommend this hotel to family and friends! And most importantly, I want to give a huge thank you shoutout to that male employee who helped me and was so kind! I had to book an extra night in town and always wanted to stay here. The rooms were booked yesterday but one was available for tonight. When I entered the room I was so relaxed. The room has a zen feel, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable and so was the duvet covered comforter, but most of all the room smelled nice. I am very happy that I got to sleep here. My mom and two other friends traveling with us felt the same. read more

Complete disappointment highly overpriced. You can tell they went out of their way to be cheap. 2 kpods for 3 night stay of $650. No table. No chair. Coffee maker is stored on bathroom floor. "Dresser" is only 6" deep bolted to wall with tip out "drawers ". Only one half roll of toilet paper and no other roll no office staff ever present. Gravel side parking lot. Only one sheet per bed- no top and bottom sheet. 2 scratchy small bath towels. Soaps are literally 1" square by 1/2 " wide. One overhead ceiling lamp and one 40 watt side lamp. No alarm clock or other clock. Puny refrigerator on floor with smallest ever seen microwave on top Even if you find it is only one available you will still be sorry you stayed here read more

My dad and I decided to finally take our Yellowstone trip and of course it was last minute. Tao's Inn was one of the few affordable options left so we went for it. We were both really pleased with this place. The two buildings seem like they were recently completely redone so they're clean and have more than enough amenities in the room including a little humidifier. The rooms are really well insolated too. It would be 40 degrees at night but 80 in our room so we would have to turn the AC on haha! I would definitely recommend this place to others. Overall nice only a few downs for us. The bed is a little on the firm side. Shower is a little small as a tall guy I was a little jammed in there. The WiFi was a little shotty. Other than that we stayed a week no issues nice and quiet in the back of town. Close walk to almost everything. read more

I was surprised when we arrived at this hotel- it was absolutely adorable, and has tons of thoughtful small additions: Netflix, a humidifier, lovely decor, beautiful crown moulding, etc. Extremely nice staff, AND it was pet friendly. So great!! The big problem for me was that the mattress was so uncomfortable (hard) that I didn't get a wink of sleep and it made my back hurt pretty badly (and typically I have no issues sleeping). I was pretty frustrated with that. Otherwise, a fabulous gem in West Yellowstone. read more

Stayed here for one quick night while visiting Yellowstone. Left too early to enjoy breakfast. Staff was friendly and retrieved ice upon request. 4 stars because of details in the room ... the transition from bedroom to bathroom was not secured and kept popping out so we just moved it and watched where we stepped, floors under the beds were dusty (saw while doing morning stretches), no caffeine free tea available. read more

I give it a three star because the people there serving the breakfast didn't ask us if we wanted Asian food or American food. But instead they server the food by looking at our color or what language we spoke and that isn't fair cause what if we wanted to eat American food. And another thing is that the bed I slept in gave me three bug bites on my leg. read more

I loved our stay and experience at this place!! The rooms were very cleaned, they provide Apple TV with Netflix and HBO GO, though the internet wasn't the fastest but it was good entertainment for the night time! The bathrooms were very clean and I love their decorations! One complain out of our entire two night experience was that it took a while to check in. We had called to check it at 4pm which was the time they told us that's available to check in. The office wasn't open on time as we were told and we waited for 20 minutes after we had called the customer service. Then we walked around the building, it turns out the officer worked was playing guitar sitting on the hammock by the front of the property. Anyways, we loved how clean and how well decorated the rooms are! We would love if they have a common area to hang out, there is a giant stone between the buildings with some chairs that's all. read more

It was right outside the park, cozy and very comfortable. Bed was perfect, we slept like logs and the shower was hot and good pressure. This was a very clean place to stay and we didn't mind the limited TV station, it was absolutely relaxing to check out of the news scene and enjoy the park and each other. This is a jewel in the making. A new motel with a Japanese warmth. The owner has gone to great detail to make this a comfortable "homey" type of spot. Just a short drive from the main gate at West Yellowstone. The owner and his staff are great people to deal with and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. read more

The room was very nice. Comfortable and prettily decorated, though the AC was really cold and we couldn't figure out how to lower it. The bathroom was nice as well. They provide Netflix for free on the room's TV which is awesome. Only thing to keep in mind is that there is no elevator to the second floor (so request first floor if you can't do stairs). read more

You should know that this "motel" (if you can call it that) consists of 2 prefab buildings barely off the road. The "office" is a storage room in back of building. The "bed" is actually a box spring with a foam topper on top. WHAT!! We were so shocked by this place that we almost left, but then we would be out the $300 + that we prepaid ! I seriously cannot believe these other reviews are for real. The guy, Rick was very helpful- we wanted LIVE Tv news, not Apple TV past news stories and he helped us make that work. read more

We were blessed to stay here for our trip to Yellowstone September,2015 the nicest place of our whole 28 day trip. The owner and manager went way beyond the best customer service we have ever received they were so kind and willing to meet ALL our needs. We even had a humidifier, electric water kettle, organic toiletries, fluffy bath mats, bamboo shower mat and bamboo comfy beds they are adding on and we highly suggest you stay at this lovely Zen like homey hotel.
