I was quite surprise with my stay at Evergreen. I love everything about this place. I think each room is different in its own way which is cool. The location of this place is perfect. You'll take a short 5 minute walk and you're on the main street of restaurants and shopping area. When you enter the office there's a pleasant smell..could it be evergreen or lavender? The room is so cute and so quaint. Each room has it's own patio area in front. I stayed in room 10 and it was a queen bed equipped with a full kitchen, refrigerator, microwave and ice bucket. What I really appreciated about Evergreen is the personalized note when I entered my room. They also leave a note on your door with the weather forecast for the following day. It really is sweet. The room was clean (I have a UV flashlight) and the room was very comfortable. Each room has it's own unassigned "parking spot". Wouldn't you want to park right in front of your room with no stairs? There's also a laundry area which requires quarters if you wish to wash your clothes as well. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to stay at West Yellowstone. read more

DISCLAIMER: I stayed in a Queen Deluxe Room (https://theevergreenmotel.com/rooms/queen-deluxe-1/) The Good: :: local business! they've been open for quite some time (opened in 1931!!!) and are still alive. respect! :: personalized handwritten note left for you when you checkin :: 2 bottles of complementary water provided to you :: location. you can't ask for a better spot. off the main street so it's quiet but within walking distance to a ton of things (e.g., grocery store, mexican food truck, bbq, breakfast joint, etc) :: very clean :: very cozy and comfortable. the separate sitting area with the sofa and coffee table by the front door was great. :: windows in every space of the place to open up and let fresh air in! :: comfortable queen-sized bed :: kitchen area was great for making simple meals. mind you, there's no stove, no cooking gear, no utensils. there is a microwave, though, and a coffeemaker. you basically have a refrigerator and microwave, so be judicious in what meal-planning you do. if you are looking to make more elaborate meals in this unit, you are out of luck. :: kitchen table and 2 chairs :: AC unit in the bedroom. however i went during a time of year it wasn't needed (end of August). there are heaters by room as well in case you go when it's chilly! :: parking for one car per motel room :: easy checkin/checkout process. with the pandemic, there is a plastic screen at the registration desk. with checkout, you drop your keys into a bucket that has sanitizing liquid in it. We loved our quick overnight stay here. It had everything we needed and we appreciated the personal touches. They provided water bottles, a little bottle of hand sanitizer, and a handwritten note with the next day's weather. Our room was very basic but clean, cozy, and modern with a cute woodsy touch. Upon reading the Yelp reviews my sweetheart and I decided to book the Queen Deluxe room; it was so clean, the decor is simplistic but modern, and everything smelled like new, not to mention the staff were very kind and accommodating. Absolutely cute hotel here in West Yellowstone! There seem to be plenty to choose from around here from small hotels to big chain ones and this was such a good find. This is one of the busiest entrances to the park so be aware that if you wake up late to go explore...you will have a long line to get in. The front office here has coffee, snacks. A few great restaurants near by and a few bars as well for some food later on. Great location about a mile from the park entrance. Very comfortable beds which were needed after a long day exploring in the park. Plenty of outlets to charge your things all night and plenty of fridge space to keep your drinks frosty while you are out. Very friendly and accommodating staff here that truly want to help. This is by far the nicest motel I've ever stayed in, which certainly helps when you fork out the significant amount of money that's needed to reserve a room here. There are personal touches on things like welcome notes in the room and the front desk lobby area is orderly and staffed by pleasant, happy employees. The rooms have everything you would need, including a nice, furnished little living room, refrigerator, kitchen wares, and a bed with air conditioning/heat. The best part of this place is that it's right next to the west entrance to Yellowstone, which is crucial if you're traveling during the summer months when Yellowstone traffic mimics LA traffic. Once the travel fund is rebuilt, I'll definitely be returning. PS don't forget to grab yourself a quart of huckleberry ice cream at the grocery store around the corner and give that freezer a purpose. read more

You will fall in love with this place. it is a little hard to find because it is tucked right next to another hotel. It is so cute from the log beds and Yellowstone motif from lamps to art even in the bath. You are a few blocks from downtown and just a few blocks to the entrance to Yellowstone. Nonetheless, we weren't thrilled with our experience. It is unlikely we would stay in W Yellowstone again. Don't be fooled by the outside. It may look like your average motel but this place is great! Super cozy place in West Yellowstone. I stayed in the Queen deluxe room which comes with a kitchen. Everything from stove, sink, microwave, and a full size fridge. Check in was super easy and the front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The room was big enough for my wife and I to feel somewhat homey and not like we are staying in a motel. Location also isn't too bad as you are about 5-10 mins away from restaurants and gift shops. You have a parking spot infront of your room. Price was also very reasonable for all the amenities we received in the room. Only con would be the water pressure in the shower is a bit lacking, but other than that I highly recommend staying here! read more

This hotel was great! We based ourselves here for a trip to Yellowstone NP, and were very happy with our choice. The location in West Yellowstone is great - it's just off the core 2-3 blocks, so is quiet, but it's easily walkable to restaurants and shops (about 5 minutes) and is ~10 minutes (driving) from the entrance to Yellowstone. There's a coffee shop directly next door, which is convenient if you need to grab a quick drink or snack in the morning. The room was clean and beautifully decorated - it was a very homey and cute place to come back to after long days at the park. The heating is adjustable and worked extremely well, keeping the room toasty even though it was pretty cold outside. The bathroom was well appointed with extra toiletries, a hair dryer, and a great shower. There were also a few thoughtful touches, like a daily card from the housekeeper that listed the day's high and low temperature, and a map of the town that listed restaurant recommendations and showed their locations. This is also a great place to stay with regard to COVID safety! The rooms are all accessed from the outside, so there's no enclosed hallway to navigate. The parking lot is configured such that you can park directly in front of your room, which is great when it's chilly. The key return was also contactless, which I appreciated. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again on a future trip. read more

Cozy little motel that exceeds expectations. You are greeted warmly at check-in with freshly baked cookies. Coffee is served in the lobby all day long. (Two kinds, regular and "Huckleberry" hazelnut flavored) The rooms are small but not cramped. The beds are very comfortable. Flat screen TVs in every room. Our room also had a refrigerator and microwave oven. The bathrooms have nice fixtures and clean tile floors. Everything is well appointed for a place this quaint. I stayed here on a poorly planned last minute trip to Yellowstone. Initially I was concerned that this would be a totally dumpy motel but it was actually super clean and well put together. The staff at the front were friendly and had cookies! The motel itself is walking distance to like half a dozen restaurants and close to the entrance to the park. The cost was about $125/night and I would definitely stay again. It actually felt like a little boutique motel (im sure that not a thing) compared to the other motels in the area. (one review was unbecoming, (posted 8/02/2010) but the complaints made in that review are inconsistent with our experience) Rooms are cozy (read small but VERY well done and functional), there was a handwritten personal thank you note on the bed from the owners, high end soap and shampoo, soft towels, nice little fridge and micro, carpet that leaves your bare feet clean, nice flat screen and good wi-fi internet....that I am using as I type this review....and it was spotless! Park right in front of your door, excellent ice machine, cheap and clean guest laundry machines.....AND Good bed! Really comfortable, nice quality sheets and pillows. They were extremely helpful when we booked the room and it was the last one available and they disclosed it was closest to the road, near highway and could be some road noise. Considering the size of this town (and the usuary going on everywhere) I was expecting this place to be pretty dumpy. It was on the cheap side for this town ($94.99/night) but I didn't need to be worried because the place was great! We stayed 4 nights in a two queen standard at $94.99/night. After I initially booked this, I decided to stay an extra night and called the motel. The super nice lady said they didn't have the same room available an extra night, so I agreed to switch rooms after the 4th night to a two queen deluxe at $109.00/night. We arrived and found the most adorable hotel room! It was a tad small for three adults and one nearly-eight year old, but that's really my fault because I pack waaay too much stuff when I travel. The beds were really comfy and we had a flat screen tv! My only complain about this room was the shower: SMALL. I'm a 6' 0" woman and need some space, but this shower didn't provide it. I still showered everyday but it was really cramped. The day that we had to move to the other room I was concerned about what we should do with our stuff. I didn't want to have to pack the car up and take off to Gardiner only to unpack when we returned. The desk girl and guy were so awesome they had the maid move our stuff for us while we were gone!! When we came back we were in our deluxe room and I was happy to see that it was WAY bigger. This one had a couch and a full size tub/shower combo. Super happy! This motel also features a guest laundry room, wifi, and all the tv channels you want. Parking is a bit cramped, but we didn't have any trouble getting in and out of our space. Great motel, great hosts, super cute place. If I stay in West Yellowstone again, I'll stay here! Oh yeah--if you stay, be sure to tip the maid as we did. She really takes care of the rooms and cleans them perfectly daily. read more

We just spent a week visiting Yellowstone Park. We stayed our first night at a resort outside of West Yellowstone, but diid not realize it was actually 45 miles from the park entrance, which was too far to drive every day. (You spend all day driving around the park, adding an extra 2 hours of driving back and forth to the resort was just too much). We were so lucky that Evergreen Motel had a last-minute cancellation that allowed us to get in immediately! We got a Queen room, which was small and cozy, and the price was definitely right! We just wanted a place that was close to the park, clean and friendly. Evergreen fit the bill. After all, we were not in Yellowstone for a magical resort experience, we were there to see the park and have a nice place to crash at night. Logan, the manager/co-owner was gracious and helpful. He gave us a list of their favorite local restaurants, which was nice. We ate at two of them and the food was great! We enjoyed our 3 night stay and will make sure that we stay at Evergreen again the next time we visit the park! read more

What can I say that hasn't been said before. I really like this place. It's clean, functional and up to date interiors. Little features like memory foam between you and your mattress making the bed even more comfortable. A small fridge in the corner and plush towels make all the difference. Plus....A nice flat screen TV and a small desk to work at. If that's not enough, the staff was very knowledgeable about the area and were up to date on road openings and closings (I was there in April and many of the roads were either closed or within days of opening). At this time of year, West Yellowstone is just coming out of hibernation and many businesses are still closed. Yet, the staff was able to offer restaurant choices and notify me of last minute openings during my stay. This is my number one recommendation for West Yellowstone and the surrounding area. read more

I stayed here with my parents in November 2010. We were on our way to Boise to spend Thanksgiving with my brother. We had no intention of stopping in West Yellowstone. Mother nature had a different plan, due to bad weather the road was closed in front of AND in back of us. We were literally snowed in West Yellowstone. Fortunately the Evergreen Motel had a vacancy. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise! The young couple who ran the place were SO accommodating. They helped us around town, got our car started the next day, and really went above and beyond for everything. I cannot give a higher recommendation for a place to stay in West Yellowstone. The Evergreen Motel turned a bad situation into a highlight for the whole trip. The rooms were cozy with a refrigerator, microwave, and a very comfy bed. We stayed here during a family car trip in July 2012, and just loved it. There are only a limited number of rooms, but the hotel is cozy rather than confining, and the husband and wife who run it are wonderful, with cookies and coffee near the front desk. They also provide a "restaurants we like" sheet, which turned us on to the Bar N Ranch restaurant, which we'd also give five stars to. They also provided a welcome bag, with various sundry items (a razor, some huckleberry taffy, local coupons, etc.). We had two rooms at the Evergreen: one a room with two queen beds, and another that was a small suite. My wife and I, along with our 4- and 6-year old boys, stayed in the suite, with the boys on a sofa bed and my wife and I in the bedroom. The suite includes a small but functional kitchen (stove, refrigerator, etc.) and common bathroom. The rooms were the excellent combination of feeling rustic, while still being air conditioned and comfortable for parents looking to relax after a long day of minivan driving. The beds were extremely comfortable, the AC good, power outlets for the various iPads and stuff to be recharged, and the walls decorated in peaceful and attractive objects. All in all, we had a great two nights there, and would stay again in a heartbeat! read more

Just as all the other happy reviews say, this motel was a huge surprise. Everything in our room was super clean, freshly remodeled, the outdoors theme was cute. The staff was very friendly and I really liked having my own parking spot. The personalized message from the staff left on our bed was an added touch that was really nice. Oh the heater in the room was heated up fast. Coffee, tea, and cookies in the morning! Only complaint which is a very small complaint: The internet is a bit slow. My only complaint is the rooms are small. However, they told us that in advance, so no deduction! It is a newly remodeled OLD hotel and they kept the same footprint. The decor was fresh and cute and very clean. They have a laundry with a great ice machine that is in a separate room. Our room was next door and we did not have any noise from it. The staff is very friendly and they have a great list of within-walking-distance restaurants along with their recommendations. Best of all, this motel is less than most in the area. Just stayed here for 4 nights. We arrived late after there normal office hours but I called ahead of time and the girl on the phone was very pleasant she advised she would leave the keys out front for us. We got there after very long drive we were exhausted and once we parked (which is a bit tight) we walked over opened the door to the room and were absolutely ecstatic! First off it smells so nice. It was super clean. The bed was very comfortable. The decor is perfect for the area. We loved it! It was so great coffee in the morning was good. It was so great to come back after a long day of being in the park and having a great place to be! Plus the rates here are great for the area worth every penny! I booked this hotel based on the stellar reviews on various travel sites. I'm very glad I did. My wife and I stayed here for a few days while hiking in Yellowstone. Obviously, the location and access is great for the N/W/S parts of the park. This hotel is run by a couple and they do a great job. The hotel is clean, tidy, quaint, and fits the environment well. The owners are very helpful in regards to ensuring one's stay is enjoyable. They even loan bear spray (a must if you're hiking in bear country). Stay here before all others in the area! read more

Having booked a room only the day before our scheduled arrival, we pulled in kinda late, maybe around 9pm. Initially, we were somewhat concerned as all lights were off in the office, but upon approaching the front door noticed an envelope with our name on it, paperwork and keys inside. We parked directly in front of our room, definitely convenient for unloading. While the room was somewhat tight, it was more than sufficient and unquestionably clean. It was nicely decorated, rustic with a cabin-like feel. The bed was comfortable, the fridge was very cold, water was hot, and the heat worked well. WiFi was kind of slow, but served the purpose. Overall, very satisfied especially for the price and proximity to the West entrance on YNP -- such a bargain! read more

(8/16/2016) Very reasonably priced (we booked at the height of the season), 2 blocks from downtown, clean, and super friendly staff. I had the "Single Traveler" room with Queen size bed, it was plenty sufficient for 1 person, Possibly cramped for 2. Bathroom was a shower stall only but very modern (totally fine). Mattress/boxspring was a touch old (sagged in the middle), but otherwise very comfortable, and I thought the woodsy theme was cute. Really appreciated the free coffee in the morning and the laundry room on site and free Wi-Fi (no damn signal anywhere out here). A parking space per room is a total bonus. My parents got the Queen with Kitchenette and loved it. They really liked the cooking option over eating out. You can tell they really take care of the place (someone tended the monstrous, gorgeous hanging baskets daily) and care about you (small touches like handwritten notes and careful instructions). read more

What an unexpected surprise! I LOVED this motel! Everything was great and walking distance to all the fun stuff. The rooms and bathrooms are small but for the most part, I wasn't spending tons of time inside this room. The bed was super comfy with enough pillows (big gripe about most hotels) and SUPER soft towels. None of the scratchy crappy towels. The handwritten note with some huckleberry candy was a cute touch. The two young people at the front desk were super sweet despite showing up a minute before they closed, and were really helpful. The kitchenette was great, especially for storing our left over food and cooling our drinks/snacks for the next day. I'd recommend this to anyone! read more
