HOWEVER, after my x-ray the doctor told me my sesamoid was naturally separated but not fractured, just inflamed. They gave me a pad for my shoe and basically said to rest for two weeks and then see how it felt. Because I wanted more clarity on my diagnosis, I looked for the visit notes in the patient portal. The visit notes were not posted to the portal for two weeks after my appointment. When they finally posted, the notes say that I DID have a fracture even though the doctor said I did not. I am very confused and frustrated about the delayed notes and inconsistent diagnosis.

My neck pain had turned me into a person who was in consistently in fight or flight mode, tightening around the affected areas, not able to take a full breath, using substances to enjoy a couple hours a day where I was not in pain. Being in that constricted state had a ripple effect, causing anxiety and social isolation because I could not hold my attention long enough to enjoy conversation as I had to keep my body moving to distract from pain. I could no longer sit down long enough to enjoy watching tv because I only felt some relief when I was laying flat on my back on a hard surface or when standing. It was a terrible way to live. My depression is easing, and I feel hope for a future where I can resume being me again. I have been to several other chiropractors in the past and none brought lasting relief. I went to Northern Rockies Physical Therapy at the recommendation of my orthopedic surgeon after a…read moreshoulder surgery. Never having had surgery or PT before, I had incredible trepidation. Chad Kay, my therapist, immediately sensed this and put me at ease by tailoring a rehab program specifically to me and my recovery process. He helped me ease into a schedule and program that I was able to work at my own pace and at my own pain threshold. And while I loved the one-on-one therapy, I also appreciated the exercise program he put together for me to work on at home. Even more than the surgery, I credit NRPT and the incredible staff of physical therapists there with helping me regain 100% range of motion in my shoulder. In addition to the physical therapy, I truly appreciated the office staff and their willingness to work with my insurance company and accomodate my work schedule when it came scheduling my PT sessions.
