Cute place, sweet staff, but the lasagna was not just cool it was ice cold. When we informed our waitress, it was handled well but the table beside complained of the same thing with their food. So small hindering on the re-warming aspect of the meals but great hospitality. read more

Wow I don't even know where to begin. We got 2 orders of garlic knots and 2 large pizzas. We waited around 45 minutes for the food despite the restaurant not being crowded. The "large" pizzas were the size of a typical medium pizza, and the crust was thinner than paper and tasted like cardboard. The garlic knots were legitimately infuriating. They were cold, hard, tiny, crusty, and literally had NO GARLIC, and no seasoning at ALL. On top of all this, it was all like 60 bucks... This establishment only get business because they are smack dab in the middle of a tourist trap, this place really sucks. And I never leave reviews, but this just pissed me off. read more

What a fun place. Food is great, service has been excellent over the last 4 days. The outside covered patio is large with big fans moving air on hot days. The DJ is great, very entertaining! If you want a terrible meal then eat here. We waited at least an hour for our food and the pizza was cold. The staff was rude and only made excuses and the waiter said when we left , "Have a good night- or not." Very bad experience and would not recommend this restaurant at all. 1!star is being overly generous. read more

This place was super cute In the heart of the lovely town of Helen, Ga! We sat outside to enjoy the scenery and beautiful weather. There was live music but as we were arriving the singer was packing up to go which is okay bc they still played music for everyone to enjoy. Our waiter was nice, patient and attentive. We ordered garlic knots to munch on while we waited in our pizza. The restaurant was extremely busy was we waited over an hour for our pizza to be ready. We ended up ordering more garlic knots bc my kids were getting antsy. Not too long after that our pizza finally arrived. We ordered the loaded meat pie which came with a whole bunch of meats including chicken! I've ordered a meats pie at other pizzerias and they've never came with chicken! That was a nice and delicious surprise! The pizza even though we waited so long was flavorful and we enjoyed it very much. I appreciated the outside space especially dining with two toddlers. They were able to dance around and marvel at the fountain as we waited for our pizza so the long wait wasn't too bad other than being hungry after a day of exploring the town. They also had a nice list of beers on draft which I'd love to come back and try as the different types sounded pretty good. read more

We went to Helen for a quick vacation this year, and got in super late by the cities standards and this was the only place open to eat, it was also within walking distance of our hotel. The pizza was OK, it was not bad, and wasn't great. For some reason the large pizza was given to us in a box way too big making the pizza look so small when the box was opened. The young girls working here didn't seem to have a clue what was going on, and my husband said they appeared to be stoned. We did get our food though, as ordered and it was hot. Just nothing to write home about, and doubtful that it was made by a pizzaiolo and was just a click above a frozen pie. The fountain coke though, delicious and mixed properly. read more

Needed a quick bite after a long hike. The gentleman who waited on us was very friendly and efficient. My boyfriend and I shared a 10' buffalo chicken pizza. It was incredible. Super cheesy, GREAT CRUST. Highly recommend if you need a break from German food. read more

Had a large group (10) stop here for a late lunch (3p) because the restaurant we'd intended to go to had a two hour wait. The service was inattentive at best, even though was half empty; we had to ask multiple times for drinks and a few of the orders came out wrong. Our server disappeared after brining some of the food items out, others were brought by assumed kitchen staff and we had to flag down other servers to ask for missed items. Everyone working there seemed inconvenienced and annoyed. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything we'd recommend. Lettuce for salads was wilting, pizza didn't have much flavor, and canzones had very little filling. About halfway through our meal we got to witness who we assumed was an owner or manager berating one of his staff over cleaning a table that was very clearly vacant simply because some of the food hadn't been eaten (you can imagine why it'd been left behind) and there were untouched water cups. Getting the checks seemed to take forever and several were incorrect, plus some of the prices were more than was listed on the menu. And to top it off, on our way out we had to scurry around the same owner/manager who was "dancing" around the patio area "singing" karaoke with no regard for anyone trying to enter or exit. Next time, we'll opt for the two hour wait. read more

This is so disgusting!!!!!!! The bathroom had a garbage overflow, a used roll of toilet paper, USED TAMPONS!! I didn't even use the restroom because it was so dirty. The woman who served us our meal was super sweet but they didn't even have the ingredients to my uncles beer. The other waiter sat a whole other family in one room and we all got cramped in one room and it was so so loud! I heard this place was good and I'm not even from Helen. And won't be back. Stay away! Pizza was all right. Service was all right. Ambiance was terrible. Ugly interior with TVs on the wall playing loud, kids at other tables on tablets listening to videos, and then someone in the kitchen started blasting music of their own that was shaking the wooden walls. When I asked our server about it, "oh, it this just Johnny or whatever the name was playing music. She asked him to turn it down...which he did, by around 2%. in summary, if you like your pizza with 3 different soundtracks one of them being Euro disco experience, this is the place for you. We ate breakfast 2x this weekend at Alpine Cafe. The staff is absolutely amazing and the food was too! Sabrina our waitress made our son feel like one of her own. Constantly checking on him and making sure he was happy. At the end of breakfast Saturday morning he gave her a big hug. We returned on Sunday morning and she greeted him with the biggest hug. And our son had to see Sabrina again before we left. Our waitress Sunday was her daughter Nevaeh was our waitress on Sunday and she's awesome as well. Give huge props to Stephen the chef as well. We had an array of things to eat the 2 mornings we were there and they were all yummy and delicious. Highly recommend Alpine Cafe. We will return when we're back in Helen. read more

Sorry to say our waitress was the only positive point of our visit. She did her best despite a 40 minute wait for a single large pizza during non peak hours, the place wasn't busy at all. The pizza tasted good, but as others have mentioned, the lack of toppings was almost comical. Maybe two small pepperoni per slice. Sprinkle of mushrooms. The end. The tea was soured as well. Where oh where is the pepperoni? I ordered just a pepperoni pizza and it was soooo skimpy on the pepperoni. I liked the actual pizza but I would be embarrassed if I were the owner to serve a pizza with so few pepperoni on it. On another note, they have a coffee shop that is really good. I ordered a breve while waiting for my pizza and it was delicious. I hope the owner takes notice of their reviews because I see I'm not the only one disappointed with the lack of pepperoni. Please give your customers more of it!!!! read more

Brought my kids here after a hike near Dahlonega. We were seated next to another large party and a family. Our drinks took a long time to come out and the food took even longer. They even forgot one of my kids' entire meal, and we had to reorder it. Service seemed to be doing the best they could, but maybe consider another restaurant if you are in a rush. If your looking for Italian food, this ain't it. Me and my friend ordered fried ravioli, it was burnt and barely any cheese inside. The side of sauce was just tomatoes puréed no flavor. Garlic knots were stringy which means the dough wasn't fully cooked. And white pizza had no flavor. Just ricotta and dried chicken. read more

We were sitting out on the porch, and the weather was good. Noise was kept to a minimum so we were able to talk without having to shout, which I consider to always be a good thing. The food was good, our wait staff were decent, and we were very happy with our experience. If we are in the area again, we would certainly return.

What was once a quaint spot with outstanding service and mouthwatering food now feels like just another restaurant. The atmosphere was fine and the service was still good, but the food didn't live up to our previous experience. We both ordered schnitzel--mine with Jäger gravy and my wife's with Gypsy gravy. Mine was decent, but hers was noticeably different from what she remembered. She had really been looking forward to it and ended up quite disappointed. It wasn't a bad meal, but it definitely didn't recapture what made our first visit so memorable.

The building is a little scary and was not very clean, there are picnic tables on the inside in the back but they may be less clean than the ones outside in the front. Customer service was okay but they did not seem happy to make our pretzel, really they were just warming it up because they are already made.
