We walked in after coming off the river. We had already seen that they close at 7 and were there 45 minutes prior. They didn't have any alcohol, they were out of a lot of things. The bread for the hot dogs was old and stale. The food wasn't very good. The worst part was the service. They acted like they couldn't wait for us to leave. The cook came to our table and asked very sarcastically if we were sure we were done because he didn't want to have to turn the fryer back on. The food here is good but pricey for what it is especially if you build your own. There is a nice outdoor covered space with tvs everywhere. There was a girl working at the counter and she was so sweet. There was a lady working the counter and other things and she was a little rude. Not friendly and I saw there was a check in yelp special for churros or something like that. When I showed the lady she basically laughed at me and said "we haven't had those since 2021." My friends and I came here after a 4 mile hike with the intentions of going to the October fest just down the street. Unfortunately but also fortunately, we ended up coming to this intimate casual dine-in or take out joint since we were too hungry to wait in any of those crazy long and crazy slow lines. We were relieved to see not a single person in line and some Bratwursts (with sauerkraut) and a form of pretzels on the menu. My friends orders that while I opted for slightly different options of Ditko sausage (with caramelized onions and peppers) and fried cheese curds. We were all thoroughly starving and quickly ate through all the fried and salty food which luckily came out in under 10 minutes. The pretzel bites are deep fried so are there for more crunchy than a typical soft pretzel. We were in love with the velveta dip on the side. The cheese curds were also tasty. Needless to say, we walked out full and happy. Staff were super friendly however, I could not spot a bathroom but I also did not end up asking. There are both indoor and outdoor tables to pick from. Plenty of parking as you may have guessed to. If in a bind again, I would have no problems with coming back next time I am in the area. read more

Service was awesome; the woman that took orders behind the counter was extremely friendly. We had our dog and the first thing she asked was if he wanted water ( it was 100 degrees outside). Placed our order with ease. I contemplated getting a drink and decided not to (but it was 100 degree, so she kindly gave me a complimentary water because it was so hot; I wasn't looking for a handout, but that was super nice of her). Visiting this fine Sunday and we decided to try the Dog Haus. Food looked good. Music was a little loud and a speak appeared broken on the patio. I ordered the Polish (with grilled peppers and onions). I received the wrong order and politely asked the lady at the counter of I could replace the order with the right order. She was apologetic and took the food to the back. The cook didn't seem too happy and they told me they would have the right order out quickly. I waited almost 30 minutes and my family already had eaten and we were ready to go. I politely asked at the counter if it was done and another lady went to the back and asked the cook. She returned immediately and when I sat down to eat it, it was crazy hot with jalapeños, which I did not order and killed my mouth with heat. I feel like it was retaliation. I wanted a light dinner and we chose the Dog House due to the location. It has a private parking lot which is rare in downtown Helen, especially during Octoberfest. We came in early (5:30 or so) and noticed a family was the only customers inside. I ordered the Kielbasa on a roll, and my husband ordered two dogs with sauerkraut and mustard. Unfortunately the mustard was not the brown spicy kind, but the plain yellow mustard. The cashier was very friendly and put in our orders quickly. It was an "okay" meal. After our meal I also used the free cinnamon churro through the Yelp checkin, which took a long time to arrive - the churros were still cold and uncooked in the middle so I didn't eat mine. I'm sure this is a great place in the summer for a quick hot dog, but I left wanting a bit more in quality and quantity. Beware of the extra fee for using a debit or credit card. read more

We came here for lunch after tubing with Cool River. Our car was already parked in the same parking lot as this place so it was very convenient. The menu offers many types of hot dogs and sausages as the name might suggest. They also sell beer and were about to start as it was a Sunday around 12:30pm. There is also a nice patio to enjoy your food and drink on. I ended up getting chicken tenders and pretzel bites, and was given a buzzer. It took about 10 minutes and I took my food to-go. The chicken was good, not overly breaded and you got a good amount of it for the price. The pretzel bites, however, had a bitter taste and the cheese sauce that you pay extra for was a bit runny. Came around 1:30pm for lunch (a weekday) and they were slammed. I guess being right by one of the tubing companies brings a lot of foot traffic. Nevertheless, service was pretty quick and the food came out piping hot. My bratwurst was nice and juicy with a generous topping of kraut and mustard. Paired with a side of fries it was a filling meal. Snagged a couple of cheese curds from my sister and boy...those were amazing. Wish I had gotten my own order. We got a free churro from a Yelp check in promo and it was perfect to split for a little sweet bite at the end of the meal. Deliciously crispy outside, slightly doughy inside, and the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar. We are planning to come back at least one more time before our trip ends. read more

This their food truck review. Well, I thought I was getting a hot dog at Tantrum Brewing. Chattahoochee Dog Haus was the food truck at the brewery. We get here and the menu is sliders. Sliders. Not dogs. Their regular menu is hot dogs. Since this was the food being offered, we ordered two slider meals, fried chicken and bbq waygu beef. The fried chicken was fine. Nothing special. The beef sliders were pretty good. I'd like to try a full-size hamburger. Fries were your typical McDonald's fries. They were truffle fries and pretty good. My two biggest issues: a place that sells hot dogs and is called the dog haus and sells no hotdogs and the price point. $14 for 2 slides and a small serving of fries. We could have ordered food from Yonah Burger (right next door) for less money, more food, and better flavor. read more

Hmmm where to begin, waiting along time to order then they had pretty with long wait. The credit card machine worked then it didn't work. The people who came with us waited 20 minutes for the order to be taken. Then waited 20 minutes more to get their food. When they got their order half of the food was missing ! for a hot dog and burger place the food is mediocre and the service stunk. I ordered a BLT with a cheeseburger patty wrapped in lettuce the guy said we only have shredded lettuce so we can't do that . The cheese burger had no cheese on it and he lied and said we only have shredded lettuce but yet they didn't they were just lazy. Disappointed.. the tables aren't clean. They don't clean the tables after other people have been sitting there seems like on a busy day only three people are working. The lady takes orders and money. I never seen her wash her hands at all. Very unsanitary. Don't recommend this place to eat. The fries are raw and cold nothing to brag about. So if your going to Helen GA to go tubing don't eat here. Eat somewhere else. HEALTH RISK AT THIS PLACE!!!!! Went and apparently their refrigerator system was down that day but they still offered some things on the menu. We decided that surely everything they offered would be at a proper and correct temperature/usage date. WRONG. The bratwurst was okay. The beer cheese was just nacho cheese from a can. The cheese curds weren't homemade, but they were probably the best part of the meal. My partner had a "hot dog" that just looked like a polish sausage cut in half and like it had been sitting somewhere hot so the outside just hardened while the inside was mushy. Didn't finish either of the dogs. We took it as a loss on finding some good local food before we got on the river, but had eaten worse before so we went on. Ended up getting FOOD POISONING from that food. Have tried to contact this establishment and they delete all comments, reviews, and ignore the phone calls. This place should NOT have been open to serve the public if they were not properly keeping their MEAT and other items at their correct temperature. Just close the doors for a day and don't selfishly risk patrons' health. read more
