Bugs! I know when staying in an inn in the woods bugs are to be expected but not to this extent. We were in room 151 which looks like it had been renovated a little more in comparison to another review. However the amount of spiders and ants in here was astonishing. I have a fear of bugs so paying an arm and a leg (480$) for a single night of comfort was all going to be worth it except I wasn't able to sleep at all thanks to all the mosquitoes in my face, ants on the floors and walls as well as the spiders in the curtains and bathrooms. It is such a shame I definitely will not be returning and regret my stay. The rooms are relatively nice and the staff was friendly. For someone else who isn't put off by bugs in the bed this is a perfect spot. read more

Decent place to stay, not incredibly fancy but does the trick for a place to sleep and get ready for a day in the mountains. They don't offer breakfast but they do have a coffee machine, fridge and mini microwave. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The sink/mirror is outside the bathroom which was kind of different to me but not a deal breaker. Overall, I would recommend this place to stay - it's easy to get to and close to downtown! read more

I I really wanted to like this place. It seems family owned and operated and it seems like renovations are ongoing but I feel like I was ripped off at the end of the day. The unit I had, 151 wasn't ready for use in my opinion but they are happy to charge $200 a night for it. One of the two bedrooms had zero window covering on it. I would have been on full display while undressed and sleeping. Same issue in the kitchen, no window covering and another large window only has a sheer covering so people can see in. This same window seems to have been two windows and they framed one in to put in an AC unit but left the window covering rail in place that looks trashy (in the photos). It's a very tight squeeze in one bedroom to get into the bathroom where they added another window wall unit, plan to walk sideways. This bathroom smells like mold and the toilet rocks back and forth when you move. There were extra towels under the sink but I could not touch them as they smell moldy. It's bad under the sink. There is no heat in this bathroom so you have to leave the door open to let warm air seep in so then you smell the mold laying in bed but it's either that or go into a freezing bathroom. The bars of soap are horrible. About the size of a 50 cent coin and are horrible. The towels have issue with fraying and holes. The sofa arms are worn and uncomfortable. The kitchen is great and included everything needed to make meals. It's a cute property and I feel bad leaving a negative review but for $200 a night it should be MUCH better. read more

Clearly racist. Just because I'm asian doesn't mean I don't understand what bullshit your staff is pulling off. They gave us a smaller corner room and made us park far from the room when clearly the spots are not designated and someone else parked sideways in front of our room the day before. We were rushing to book but obviously this was vacant for a reason and was cheaper than the rest. Nice cute little motel close to the Rocky Mountains. Clean, cozy, and comfortable. My only complaint is that the screen door leading to the balcony in my room was kinda broken. It was not properly on the sliding bar, meaning that it doesn't slide open and closed properly. It still opens and closes, but it takes some effort. It also makes it so that it doesn't fully close; there is a gap at the top big enough for bugs to get in. Yes, there is also a glass door, but if you want the screen only, bugs might get in. read more

Surprisingly very nice for a 2-star. Got comfy clean rooms, with a woodsey homey feel. Got a fire pit and hot tub out back, that our group used exclusively. Avoid at all costs. After being "double-booked" and placed in a room with only one bed (for platonic friends), we were promised a partial refund. I made multiple attempts going to the front office, as well as several phone calls after my stay, and every time they strung me along with a different excuse, and promised the money was on its way. It never came. The rolling cot they did provide was horribly uncomfortable, with sharp springs jabbing my back every night. Truly an awful experience. read more

What an adorable little motel! The rooms have recently been renovated and modernized. You can certainly tell the owners are enthusiastic and proud of their business. Great attention to detail and communication. We stayed in a room with 2 Queen-sized beds and a balcony with stunning views of the mountains. We were even able to see 4th of July fireworks over Estes Park Lake! The room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, cable TV, heater, window a/c, coffee maker, alarm clock, and a hair dryer. There is a heated swimming pool (with ADA lift chair), hot tub, and free shuttle service into town (10 minute ride with other stops along the way). I'd certainly recommend it to family and friends. We normally opt to stay at Airbnb's but didn't have much luck finding a decent one around Rocky Mountain National Park. Instead, we came across Alpine Ridge Inn which looked decent online and a decently priced. It ended up exceeded our expectations. The outside is a little grungy which made me nervous to see our room but the inside is clean and newly renovated. Bird & Jim (a restaurant) is also right across the parking lot which made dinner super convenient. Alpine Ridge is also probably the closest you can get to the park entrance which made it super convenient not having to drive through the busy downtown. read more

The location is awesome. The views spectacular. The rooms are small, quaint with a fridge. Bed was not too comfortable. TV turned on mysteriously at 2:17. We heard same from several guests. Weird and nobody seems to know why. They checked for alarms. Tonight we will unplug at bedtime. Editing my review to 4 because it is between 3and 4 but Taylor at reception was very nice and tried to accommodate but every room in Hotel is booked. Big weekend! read more

I was immediately impressed by this hotel before even coming because I accidentally forgot to use a promo code I had before paying; I emailed them right away and they kindly refunded the difference. That's excellent customer service because definitely not all places would do that!! Then we get here and despite all the research I had done to plan our trip and pick a place to stay, I simply did not realize how close this hotel is to RMNP entrance (geography is not my strong suite lol). Honesty that was so convenient and a great perk! I didn't get any pics of the room itself but we booked the queen balcony and it was so worth it! We checked into a beautiful clean and cute room. Quaint and on the smaller side but perfect for my husband and I. The balcony view is .... Amazing! I felt so lucky to sit out there and enjoy seeing the mountains just RIGHT there! We didn't have time to enjoy the amenities much but even in June the weather was perfect to have enjoyed the fire pit and/or heated pool. The shower pressure was perfect (honestly this is a big thing when it comes to hotels, can be make or break for some people- ha!). The staff seems very welcoming and committed to making sure you have a great stay. The only downside I have with this place is that we didn't get to stay longer to enjoy it more but that's on me :)!! where to begin? My boyfriend and I are simple travelers. I booked the Inn after reading reviews and seeing that what they had to offer suited our needs perfectly. I was pleased until- We had an unfortunate issue with our heater being broken upon arrival. We arrived Thursday evening, I put the heater on and to "low" before falling asleep. We woke up Friday, freezing and my boyfriend sniffling. I thought it was due to the heat being on its lowest setting, so we headed out 7 AM to begin our day at RMNP. When we arrived that evening, the room was still cold. We wanted to nap before dinner, so I cranked the heat to it's highest setting and we fell asleep. We woke up and the room was even colder. The heater was cold to the touch and silent- it was indeed broken. I called the Emergency Number before we left for dinner at 8:20 and it stated we would get a PHONE CALL within 15 minutes, I left a voicemail explaining the situation. I was weary to head too far for dinner given the situation, so we dined next door. I left my ringer on loud and kept checking my phone - nothing. We were worried about needing to find a different place to stay for the night as it was 30 degrees outside. My boyfriend planned to see the Stanley Hotel that night, but felt we should go back to the room. I said screw it, we should go and not let circumstances ruin our last evening. We arrived back three hours later, to a space heater in the room on its highest setting at 80 degrees- fire hazard much? I thought it was weird they had acknowledged the issue without actually speaking to us or letting us know of their solution. Everything was ice cold to the touch- sheets, our clothes, everything. We layered up and tried to fall asleep. Needless to say the heater took hours to work. When we woke up the room was an adequate temperature, however it was nowhere near to what we would consider comfortable. At this point my boyfriend is sick. Saturday morning he thought I should talk to the front desk about our stay and see if they could offer some sort of compensation. Jessika was completely argumentative & Instead of acknowledging what happened and apologizing, I was met with hostility. She said they had received a flood of emergency calls the prior evening and she had called everyone and left voicemails. A true blatant LIE. I never received a call, and I would have known as I was constantly checking all evening. She then changes her tune after hearing that and said she texted me. I wrongly told her I had never gotten her texts, however I later realized that her messages were sent to an unknown senders tab on my iPhone that I didn't know existed. Her texts (below) were sent at 9:46 and one at 10:19 stating that her husband put a space heater in the room and they would fix the heater tomorrow after we left, acknowledging the heater in the room was broken. I'm not sure how that would have helped US, but I would rather have had it fixed that evening, especially since we called at 8:20 and were out of the room for 3 hours. I would have appreciated a phone call as we were supposed to get... or even a heads up that I should be looking for a text and maybe we could have figured out the tab sooner? I then move on saying, the room was extremely cold that night and she counters saying the heater should have worked as it has worked in her office in the past. I told her as much as I appreciated their quick solution, it unfortunately did not work for the majority of the evening. Her response -"I'm sorry you didn't think that it worked for you." ... uhm.. thank you? No true sign of sympathy for our situation. I understand things happen and you might have been bombarded with calls, but that shouldn't be put on your customers or the quality of their stay. If it is, as it was for us, something should be done to make the situation right. We're not out trying to scheme money, but we truly had something significantly defected with the room. Despite freezing our butts off the entire time, we were ok with the rest- up until my encounter with Jessika. She ends by angrily saying she will have to call the owner about the situation and I ask what time can I expect a call. She said "well we close at 6 so before then." Nice and vague, awesome. I then ask what the owners name was just in case I wanted to call back and speak with them, she says she's not going to give me that information. Extremely weird and rude? I go on yelp and guess what! There's the business owner commenting on reviews with his name for all the internet to see. Well shocker, we never received a call from her. I tried calling and emailing and finally received this sarcastic, unprofessional message attached. I'm truly astounded that a business would operate/lie this way. They take no accountability for their shortcomings, no moral fiber. I figured our experience should weigh in when choosing a place to stay in Estes. If you care about being treated with respect by honest people, look elsewhere. read more

First of all, the pictures of the rooms lie!!!! Our room does not resemble any of those pictures and was very small. The place advertised that the rooms were renovated. Maybe they were in 1960! Management has been absent most of the time we have been here. We asked for a room on the second floor and were told those were not in use during the winter. Yet...someone was staying directly above us. The ONLY good thing about this place is location. It is right down the street from one of the entrances to Rocky Mountain State Park. Such a cute hotel! It's so convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and the rest of Estes Park. The staff were all very friendly and the room was clean with all the basic amenities we needed. We even extended our stay by a night to be able to do more in the area rather than going back to Denver. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

The full kitchen and nicely furnished living room enabled us hang out and have coffee before heading out to RMNP for a nice day of hiking The staff here is also so nice. Everything was great. we were on a road trip to Colorado for our son's wedding and this was our final stop in Estes and prob my most favorite hotel on our trip! I was surprised by how roomy this room was!! we checked in late but the owner called us to make sure we were still coming and left our key for us so there was no issue, the room was so gorgeous and again sooo roomy - we had a balcony with a view of the mountains ... the bathroom was even gorgeous (had to take a pic lol) we stayed with family and they were next door so we were talking to each other from our balcony the next morning... I can't say enough about this motel - so comfy and clean would most definitely recommend and stay here again! I took several pics! read more

This is a great spot. Jay, the owner just recently ran cat5 cable to every single room, and upgraded the internet to 30mbps with a router in each room. I Skyped with my wife and didn't get any hiccups at all. It used to be 5mbps, hence the previous complaints. Now it's much better. Rooms are in good condition, modern, good sized: (32" LCD). Good coffee in the office starting at 7am. I would definitely return here. read more

Rooms were cute. Smelled kinda musty but not unforgivable. The one kicker is the air conditioning DID NOT WORK. It turned on and immediately started to freeze up and not push cold air out into the room. We had to open the bathroom window and patio door to get any kind of air movement. It was in the 90s so some cool air would have been nice. Took forever to get to sleep because of the stagnant air. Of course no one was there upon check out to tell of the problems. Also super tiny trash cans. Not great for travelers with kids. read more

Fair warning: we had pretty low standards. Our main objective was having an inexpensive and half-decent place to spend the night over NYE in Estes... This inn ended up being an awesome find! We knew the rooms were going to be small, but both rooms we got were comfortable, nicely done, and had a couple features we weren't expecting. The hot tub was running (even at -2°) with plenty of towels available. The fire pit was stocked with more than enough wood to use the whole evening. It's close to downtown Estes and walking distance t a handful of restaurants. The staff was gracious and helpful. It honestly just felt like the staff cared about how they run the place - and it showed. I would highly recommend! read more

Fourth stay - consistently good! We stayed in a queen economy room on Saturday night. It was spotless, bed was comfy and had everything we needed for a base camp for our RMNP adventures. The location is great - right out side RMNP and steps away from a great restaurant, Bird & Jim. (We did carry out for dinner and it was fantastic!) We had delicious breakfast sandwiches at Scratch Bakery - also incredibly close. ATRI is great value for the money. Heater was a bit noisy but we didn't need it much. Shower had great water pressure and temperature. Only thing was it was a little loud but with the air conditioner on you can sound it out. This place is very closed to the park entrance, and there is a bakery next to this place and opens very early for breakfast. Just make sure you get here before 8pm because the office will be closed. In the morning, you can just leave the key in the drop box instead of waiting for them. Their room is not very big, but they have everything you need (A big TV, a table and a chair, a microwave, and enough space for you to place your suitcase. Each room has a parking lot in front of the door, which is very nice. I love the hot tub the MOST! They provide clean towel next to their small pool, and the hot tub is very good for your tried body after you spend your day in the park (It closes at 9pm). Compared to other motels in the town, this one has lower prices, and I recommend you to stay in here! read more

This hotel was a joke. It looks good online but very deceiving once you get there. We were very sure we booked a king and we only got a queen and the bed was as hard as a rock, I'm pretty sure it was a box springs. I went and talked to the lady at the window and she said we only booked hey queen, and when I told her about how hard the bed was her suggestion was to use the fleece blanket in the bottom drawer for extra cushion. The bathroom was very small, the shower was maybe a 2x2 I could even bend down to shave my legs with touching to side (ewww) and the shower handle cane off when you turned it on. The view was good but that's the only thing. I asked if we could get a refund since we had only been there 5 minutes and she said no once we walked through the door she couldn't refund. We went on a two week vacation that was the last hotel we stayed in and it was by far the worst We stayed in. If your looking, keep looking. Jody read more

Recently stayed here, the location is great, so close to Rocky Mtn National Park, exterior of the motel is kinda retro layout/style but remodeled in & out & you can tell Owners & Mgmt care for the place with love, so clean & fresh everywhere's . Actually like the retro exterior vibe and the rooms are stylishly updated with a clean Mountain decor touch & cool lighting & furniture. Nice restaurant next door & our fav coffee shop, Coffee on the Rocks , is not all that far down the road. DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY HERE! We booked the motel one month in advance. We showed up after an 8 hour drive and they double booked our stay. They told us they'd find a place for us to stay in Estes Park for free. THE MANAGER JESS booked a hotel in Estes that was DOUBLE the price. She booked our stay and said they would pay. We trusted her and stayed there. Then the next day we went hiking in RMNP and had no cell service. When we came down to Estes Park early evening, we saw emails telling us to move our stuff to their motel. By that time we were already charged at the other hotel for a 2nd night. The managers at Alpine Inn are not in the office, we do not get a timely response when we needed communication about what is happening, they have a customer number that they do not call back. We have since left Estes Park and had to pay OVER DOUBLE what we budgeted for in hotel stay because the Alpine Inn motel will not pay the other price. Also they have not refunded us the money for their room that we did NOT stay in. This motel is terrible business and treats their customers like commodities. read more

The view is amazing and it's located close enough to downtown Estes that things are easily accessible, but far enough out that you don't need to worry about the congested traffic. Very close to rmnp as well. Stayed here once and haven't been back. I think that sums up this place. The rooms are doable if you are passing through or are spending most of your time outside in the park. If you do stay I recommend requesting a room that sits back on the property, some of the buildings are up against a busy road that goes into the park creating a lot of noise. read more

Check in time was delayed due to maintenance issues, parking was confusing and desk staff was unfriendly. We checked into a clean simple room, but it was really cold and the furnace smelled funny. There was soap and shampoo, but very small and cheap, compared to other hotels I've been in. The hotel is near the road and very noisy. Extremely high price for the quality of the room and service.
