I was really looking forward to this place for a very long time. We finally find the opportunity to go. When we arrived, it took 6 minutes for us to be seated. We were given menus and we waited 25 minutes. We didn't even get the opportunity to order drinks, the guy didn't even ask. We didn't have any more time to wait for any service as we were hungry and had plans later that day. If it were to take 30 plus minutes to even order drinks, no idea how long the food would have taken. We had to leave. Disappointed. read more

I'd love to give this place a good review, I like their other location. But the host who was kind of abrupt to begin with seated us, said he'd be back and 15 minutes still hadn't come back.. When we walked out he was sitting at a table chatting. This is one my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant. I I have to wait more than 10 minutes for the waiter, or someone to come by after I've been seated that's it. It's worse when they're clearly not busy but just jawboning with a friend. It was also an almost empty restaurant so this wasn't about being busy. It's called the hospitality industry for a reason. Originally I knew about this restaurant under the name "taste of Jerusalem" I don't know why it's not mentioned in Yelp in correlation because we had trouble finding it, only to realize we knew exactly where it was because we by pizza next door regularly. We did not dine in we did takeout and all I can say is everything was dry. I ordered spanakopita and falafel for an appetizer but couldn't finish the spanakopita because it was dry And chewy! I love spanakopita and usually always order it if it's on the menu anywhere and sadly this was easily the worst I've ever had. The falafel was ok. The combo for two was over salty and dry And we only received one pita. The salad was ok but not very well balanced, just overwhelmed by parsley. I was really hoping to Like the place because it's close by. I knew they were closed for a time and I saw several negative reviews but it was during pandemic. However, recently (under the name taste of Jerusalem) I saw very good reviews so was encouraged to try it. Sad to be disappointed. First of all, this is THE BEST Mediterranean food in all of ABQ (and in Phoenix, too)! No, they're not in Phoenix, but if they were, it would be #1. No doubt. The chicken shawarma is like butter. The hummus and baba ganoush are divine. I can't say enough good things about this place. And consistent!! Always, always the best. Yes...new owners....the folks from the Montgomery location bought this place and the food is a bit more traditional/Lebanese...if I'm not mistaken. Delicious and very fulfilling. Great service too. A dinner for two fed the four of us...just saying. Side note to owners....Make sure you have your landlord update your sign.... You're not marketing your name/brand appropriately... I love the food. But if you're eating falafel and fries for lunch. Tell them to cook the fries till golden... I've eaten there many many times thru the years and different owners (I think). The hours can be wonky. But in the end when I need a fix I get the full deal here. And other than the fries I've never been disappointed. Middle Eastern food is quickly becoming my favorite! We decided to order delivery for this one and Door Dash did a great job with the delivery as it was still hot and fresh when dropped off at the doorstep. I ordered the falafel combo platter, which came with falafel, pita bread, hummus, and a tabouli salad. I will say, that falafel was outstanding! So crispy and full of the flavor. The pita was great with hummus, very soft and warm. When you mix it all together and top it with garlic sauce, an outstanding dish! My girlfriend ordered the chicken tawook and the flavor was not on par with most middle eastern seasoning, and it didn't come with much chicken. I wouldn't order this dish again, but would come back for falafel!! read more

My husband and I ate here yesterday for lunch. It was our first time here. I've never had this style of food before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was delicious! We ordered dolmas, chicken shawarma platter and lamb kebab platter. The two platter dishes came with pita bread and a side salad. We both chose tabbouleh. The chicken was super tender and flavorful and the hummus was so good! The lamb was very flavorful, but few of the pieces were tough. My husband works in the Middle East and he thought the food was very good as well. The portion sizes were generous and our total came to around $47. We both had leftovers, so we'll be having it again for lunch today. We'll definitely be going back to try their other dishes. read more

The food was absolutely amazing at Alquds when on vacation thanksgiving week. The waiter was amazing and super friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a free baklava to try and was super delicious. I will definitely come back to this location when we come again to visit my mother in law. read more

Duplicating my review from Jerusalem since this was the place I went to and I must have picked the wrong one when looking to write. AMAZING value for the price. Good tasting Lamb and high quality olives and Feta cheese on the Greek salad. The ambiance is "strip mall diner" and the server's misinterpretation of me asking for a lamb souvlaki skewer and bringing be a lamb gyro was annoying, but the product was lovely. Good Tzatziki sauce, but a little more viscous than it should be (it was drier than it should've been IMO). Albuquerque isn't exactly a "mecca" for Jewish or Persian food, but Alquds is pretty damn good and probably in the top 3 of Albuquerque for food from that region. Olympia has better quality for the gyro and sauce; Alquds has better Feta; their ambiance is about the same. Pars has better ambiance, service, and sauces; Alquds has better Gyro meat, Feta, and WAY better prices. Mykonos is still my go-to for quality and ambiance, but it is a little pricy. (It has better sauces, service, and gyros. They're about equal on Feta). read more

Excellent gyros and the mint tea is amazing. What really put it over the top was my wife ordered the eggplant and feta sandwich. It wasn't what she expected (she didn't read the details closely enough). The manager explained the ingredients to her, eggplant spread vs sliced or cubed eggplant, offered her another sandwich for free, and comped us their exceptional pistachio baklava. His kindness, when he didn't have to be, will certainly have us visiting again. That feeling of being invited into his home, vs it just being some corporate chain is what makes all the difference in the world. read more

Alquds is the best Middle Eastern food I've found in Albuquerque so far. Their chicken kabobs and chicken shawarma are flavorful and tender. The hummus and rice are also delicious. I've only ordered take out through Uber eats, but the food has always arrived fresh and hot. read more

Sat down to eat on a Saturda evening. Restaurant was pretty empty. Waitress and hostess was extremely rude to us. We tried to order drinks and we were unsure what to order for food. We had dined previously at the other location on Montgomery in Albuquerque; however this location in Rio Rancho is much closer to our residence in Mariposa, Rio Rancho. The menu offerings appeared to be the same as the other location and the appetizer and entrees my wife and I ordered were just as tasty. Also, the service was excellent and the owner was very friendly and we are very happy we discovered this location. The ambiance was also interesting with several photos of Jerusalum (Al Quds) and several items from that region around the restaurant. We went here many times when it first opened as Jerusalem The Holy Land. We stopped going because to be honest, service was horrid and the food reduced down to marginal at best. We understood that it was under new management, so decided to give it another try. First we doordashed it and we went into price shock hell. But we also know that door dash jacks up the prices. Never realized it was 25%+. Tonight we went with friends to the actual restaurant. What a difference new management makes. Mohammed the owner came out and introduced himself. Brought us a sample of his falafel and made it difficult to decide what to order as a result. They were the bomb. My husband got the combo plate which was hummus, falafel, rice and I think tabouili salad. I had the beef kabab which came with your choice of salad and hummus. First off, everything was fresh - cooked for you not for last night's crowd. The rice - no clue what that monster was but it was sure good. The hummus which both hubby and I had - yummo. The included pita bread - yup - a winner! My salad and beef kabab - gotta go back for more. Highly recommend this new Alquds aka Jerusalem, the Holy Land. I know we will be back for more! read more

This is some of the best Mediterranean food in the area! They catered some large parties for my employer and everything was delicious. I just went to the restaurant and it was even better. Best hummus in town, fabulous pita bread, chicken kabobs and tzatziki. Next visit, beef kabobs. The falafel and Greek salad are also very good, as is the baklava. Their first location is in Albuquerque, this one in Rio Rancho is about 3 months old, in the Taste of Jerusalem location. My new favorite restaurant!! read more
