The restaurant is small but clean. The decor is basic Mediterranean. My SO and I used to go to Yasmine's for lunch every week or two, but we hadn't been more than once or twice since our offices moved several years ago. After the GON powwow (Last Dance ), we took our adult kids, and my SO's brother and plus-one to Yasmine's. It was just how we remembered it. You order food at the counter and take a seat. We ordered a variety of dishes: falafel, chicken shawarma, Greek salad, hummus and pita, and gyros entree. It was all delicious and cooked/made properly. They were moderately busy, but food only took about 20 minutes. The entree and combo portions were pretty big, so wait until you're hungry or order a smaller plate (or plan on taking a to-go box). BTW: From westbound Central, you can't turn left into or next to Yasmine's. We forgot that and had to go to Spruce and flip a U-turn. read more

I enjoy visiting this place when I'm in Albuquerque. My friends and I make this our first stop. The location is convenient to the convention center and always bustling. One of the most memorable items I've had are the chicken wings. I didn't get them this time because they were unavailable, but everything else is great as well. Came across this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Tried the gyro plate comes with rice, gyro meat and a salad. Ordered a few things for delivery. Gyro with fries: I thought the meat was pretty flavorful, but it really needed something fresh like onions or lettuce or tomatoes. Also not enough tzatziki so it was dry. The fries were underseasoned. Needed salt. Vegetarian platter 2: the babaganoush was really good with the pita. Not enough pita for all the dips though. The hummus was smooth. The spanakopita was good but pretty small portion. I really disliked the falafel. It was really dense and the flavor was not great. Maybe bland? Greek salad: Really refreshing and a good side. Comes with pickles on it which is different. I ended up using them in the Gyro which was pretty good. I love going out with friends on a Friday night and finding a quiet yummy place to nosh. When we went in, we grabbed a nice table and went to the order window to order our food. The apps were and smelled divine! The got falafel and dolmas for appetizers, and the dolmas were gone before I took a pic! What can I say, I'm human and they screamed " Eat Me!" They make their own pita bread so it is always fresh, their hummus can be a meal all on it's own because we can just eat that alone with the fresh pita, and kefta kabobs have a wonderful flavor to them. They were all treated so well, and this showed me the power of customer service in having regulars. Now onward to the food, I ordered a pomegranate Arabic soda which tasted like a sweet refreshing elixir! My shawarma wrap came out with a bountiful amount of fries and meat + veggies inside. The best part about this experience was learning about Yummy's, a donut and ice cream store with has over 200 reviews and is rated 5 stars. But that's not to say that the rest of the experience wasn't great. The interior is really interesting. The mural transported me to my childhood of Disney films, and I especially enjoyed the figure on the flying carpet. I liked the sparse display of framed photos of Turkey, and the longer I stood in front of them, the more I wondered if this is what it might be like to be in Turkey. It was an unassuming restaurant where you can go for a low-key meal of delicious food. The service on a late Friday afternoon was a bit slow despite not many patrons sitting inside, and I waited a bit longer than expected for a drink because other things came up before the employee could go get it; I suspect they're kept busy with the many meal delivery people coming in to pick up food. This was a good thing because it helped us slow down so we could savor the food and the atmosphere at the end of a work week. I liked that I could see the staff preparing the food, and in the back, I could see the large wood-fired-like oven and someone chopping tomatoes. The young employee with the earbud in his ear taking orders added to the laidback vibe of the place. The mother feeding the two kids from non-customer bowls giving the restaurant a family feel. The older man who was found both cleaning out in the front and helping out in the back. Employees kindly welcoming new faces and heartily greeting familiar ones.
