Instagram recently showed us a reel with Kabob House and their Persian and Kurdish food. It sparked our curiosity and we tried it today. The place has ample room for multiple people and the decor seemed nice. The music was quite delightful. Our server was one of the most polite servers we have ever had. Even though we were two of four people, our food was slow to come out. But the wait was worth it. We ordered the special Kurdish bread covered in butter and filled with green onions. The hubby ordered the chicken breast kabob with south of the border chicken. I got the boneless lamb kabob. With our orders came a surprise Kurdish soup with lentils, fideos, and Kurdish spices. First, the bread and soups were simple yet familiar, powerful, and delicious. The lamb was tender, well seasoned, and delightful. Now, the south of the border chicken breast was an amazing surprise; it was juicy, tender, a bit spicy, and absolutely perfect. The rice was another great example of simplicity and beauty. We had a big group order so I called to see if they had any family style options... unfortunately, they did not. So we all ordered our own entrees. Most of us got the chicken kabob with rice and everyone loved their food! The chicken was juicy and full of flavor and the jalapeño was spicy!! It was a lot of food!! Lamb kabob with rice 22.99 plus Tad zik (crusty rice) 4.99 - enough for lunch to share between two of us. Service was tip top, informative, friendly and efficient. they were doing robust business at 1.45pm. the lamb was cooked perfectly with little crispy bits just as we like it. It started off good and went downhill!! I stopped in for a nice peaceful early dinner at my fave kabob restaurant. Everything looked and smelled normal. There were 2 other customers there when I went at 4:45. The nice waiter/cashier did the usual to seat me and get me started and brought me a menu, hot tea, and chips w complimentary a yogurt dip. I ordered the Chicken Koobideh kabob plate. Two other young men came in and ordered something to go and sat down to wait for it. Then a big "Waste" Truck backed up to the dining room door behind the last booth. The waste truck man pulled his big hose through the dining room and into the back somewhere. Then he turned it on and the dining room got STINKY very fast. It smelled like POOP!!! I asked the nice waiter to open the front doors and he did but it still smelled bad. I asked him to change my order TO GO and he did. I was still charged the full price even though I couldn't tolerate eating in a Stinky place. The other 2 guys were anxious to leave also after they got their food to go. NOT A GOOD TIME OR WAY TO GET YOUR SEWER PUMPED OUT!!!! What were they thinking???? We each got the Bakhtiary Sultani...OMGoodness, so so delicious and so much food but we couldn't stop eating! My friend got the barley soup, so good and lemony. The service was almost nonexistent the food wasn't any better. Also got my order wrong, but given how long it took to get it out I kept quiet. Not like the server checked up on us. The sandwiches came with mayo but mayo is not listed on the menu and we did not order mayo. And I don't like mayo. The falafel pieces were small, flat, and hard as a rock. Also, the falafel being served on a sub roll is odd. Especially falafel that looks like that. Usually falafel is round-ish and served as a wrap with hummus (and tahini). With a sub roll that big it should be stuffed with fresh lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles. It was a sad sandwich. I ordered a dolma stuffed pepper but I guess they ran out of peppers? As much as I loved their old location down by UNM, having this location closer to home is so awesome! If you like lamb, you must try the Shishlik. It's bone in lamb chop but the flavor is to die for. We normally get the Beef and Lamb Combo Kebob Platter with the thicker beef cut (Barg I believe), the shishlik and one of each the chicken and beef koobideh. It comes with rice, roasted green chile and tomatoes and some other stuff for flavors and sides. I also tried the Kurdish soup and found the flavors to be delightful. 10 out of 10 will order Shishlik every time. The Beef Koobideh, Veggie and Chicken Kebab oozed flavor - like enjoying the best back yard grill in the house! The food and service were great, but unfortunately, so was the price. For two of us to eat with one glass of wine, one soda, and a shared dessert, the bill was well over $100. Visited here the day after their Grand Opening. It was a busy night. This is their new location, they used to be located on Coal Ave. close to UNM. We waited about 15 minutes for our seats. This location is situated in the shopping center of the La Cueva Town Center. Right by Dollar Tree and Ross. Plenty of parking spaces, but on a busy night like tonight. We parked in the lot by the Dollar Tree. After being seated, we were served our drinks with tortilla chips and ranch dressing. As I believe it to be that. At their old location, they used to serve this barley soup, with vegetables and a slice of lime. We didn't get that at this location. Their menu looks to be the same from before.  We ordered a beef koobideh sandwich and a beef koobideh dinner plate. The wait for our food was a bit longer than expected. When we did get our dinner, it was definitely different. Not in taste, but just the way it was served. The sandwich was now served on a french baguette. No longer served in a tortilla. The only thing missing was the pickled cabbage. I did ask for some Sumac, to give my food more flavor. And the dinner plate was a round circular plate, that made the plate bigger. But the food was still excellent. We had not visited Kabob House since they closed their Coal location. Although, we waited a long time, close to 45 minutes for the food. It was worth it. Hoping their management and staff will learn from this. I'm not saying not to try this place. I am merely saying to give them time since the food is made to order. read more

Food is tasty and options are better than many other places in town, but definitely pricey. We sent back an eggplant dish that was mixed with a very heavy portion of whey. We ate two bites before realized and sent the plate back, but they charged us for the whole thing even though we told them politely we couldn't eat it. I would also HIGHLY recommend calling to make sure the business is open prior to arriving, as we have made multiple trips across town only to arrive to an empty parking lot and a hand-written note on the door saying they were closed. read more

we came for an early dinner and we were the third table occupied. have been wanting to check this place out before and decided to come in. nice cute place. ordered the Kurdish bread with cucumber yogurt dipping sauce. they prepared and decorated the sauce super cute. they surprised us with complementary lentil soup which was very pleasant. I ordered the combo kebob plate and it came with a grilled half Tomatoe, basmati rice, roasted hot Chile pepper and combo chicken and prime rib steak. the chicken and steak were so tender and the rice was perfect. will definitely come back. everything tasted great! picture on the walls were where their family were from and around their country. very nice people. read more
